I agree with the others, about a 100% proc rate with 4-6 sec ICD and hits for about a typical FoT hit but pierces everything for around half the screen.

Yea, Inna's Helms and Madstons are dirt cheap as DHs cant use them. I use Madstone to 'tank' with a Life gem and 14% sweeping wind (350k) and Inna's to farm xp/loot with XP Gem (2m).
I went with a Tzo Krin's myself. Crit + Attack speed is pretty juicy; I give up the socket, but I'm playing for fun/ubers not maxing out paragon (so I don't miss the Ruby) and Tzo Krin's has a lot of life on it (so close enough to a Amethyst).
I'm sure someone will argue that I'm wrong, but it cost me ~50k for 7% IAS / 5% crit. Can't really beat that...

Hey guys, I recently posted asking for help upgrading, I have since done that
http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/AlexChomey-1652/hero/20910206
I went for Inna's set, although I guess I need to get the 4th piece for free sweeping winds. I'm not sure where to go from here now. I traded a lot of vit and res for that dps/crit, so I am around 38k~ life buffed and like 67k dps. crit chance at around 38 with merc. crit dmg 250~
I was thinking of upgrading my rare ring? I was thinking Soj or Skull grasp, or should I just stick with a rare ring. Perhaps bracers also but I don't really wanna lose that vit/res from them. I found an echoing fury a few days ago and tried it out but the fear was a little annoying as well as I lost 130 crit damage from that sword for echo's 7k dps increase. I felt that the crit dmg loss was worse than 7k dps loss as well as I need that LoH.
My Won Khim's is really low dps but perf lightning boosts. Would you recommend upgrading that one? I am able to do mp 4 pretty fast and easy. With a few sketchy times when I encounter poison/fire/acane guys. But I have learned to engage better and retreat when it all builds up rather than trying to tank it all.
Also as for my main hand weapon, which should be my main hand? Does it affect skills/damage?
Any advice is appreciated, Thanks!

You should really be aiming for a slow main hand with low damage range - preferably +min/max damage - like a spear or mace. Sometimes you can find a faster weapon with a small range - but that's the exception. Generally slow main hand, fast off hand. Your sweeping winds 'snapshot' off the main hand - so you want to be ensuring they are consistently high. With your current gear, I'd stear clear of a SoJ - you'll be sacrificing too much.

It snapshots off the "active" weapon. You can figure out which is active from your attack speed value.
But yea, there are easily hundreds if better WKL on the AH for under 1m :-D or join the Shenlong Fight Club!

I know nothing Monks and I'm not sure where I should take my build and what to focus on. I would love some weapon recommendations so I can improve my DPS and some armor upgrades would help as well. Here is my profile:

Much appreciate any advice and thank you!
Edit: Forgot to mention I have about 20$ to work with as well.

Cheap gearing 200+dex/resist/9+%crit gloves 200+dex/vit/double resist boots. dex/vit/double resist shoulders/belt.
Gear 1600+dex from gear->crit chance->+damage->AS->crit damage if you're on a budget. Get as much crit damage as you can from weapons.
End goals
1800+dex, 25%+ crit chance, 200+% crit damage, 30k+hp and 600+ all resist.
Ouroboros is a good beginner's amulet to get, try to get one with a good LoH&+damage roll.
For spec, cookie cutter is probably fine. Linked my gear as well(bnet doesn't like updating from when I swapped gear to DH, so that gear is outdated but oh well) http://www.diabloprogress.com/hero/porouscloud-1152/Amui/288090
Feel free to swap fleet footed with whatever you need to clear.
Also if you're going to spend the $20, I'd recommend seeing if you could get a good 2p inna's(helm+pants)

For anyone on a budget, Strongarm Bracers are dirt cheap for their relative value. Like for FantomX, I searched for a pair for him and this is what I came up with:
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/BtaNg.jpg) Hell, those bracers would be a 500 dps and better defensive upgrade for me at the cost of 3k health (I guess you gotta make that up somewhere, switch your helm gem to health).

Sweeping winds snapshots of the active weapon not main hand. Note that if there is a big difference in base dmg of weapons it can be beneficial to make sure the right weapon is active (but thats not how i like to play, so i prefer similar dmg weaps)
I think its not necessarily the best to have a fast and a slow weapon: If you have 1 weapon with high dps and 1 weapon with low dps (&high stats), then the low dps weapon should be fast. (so the high dps weapon gets its turn faster). If you have 2 weapons with similar dps, it's indifferent.

Anyone know about what DPS you need before lifesteal gets better than LoH?
I'm sitting at around 88k dps with Blazing Wrath active.
E: Running cookie cutter FoT/Cyclone/Blazing Wrath/Blind-Faith/Overawe build.

Just calculate it based on your atk speed, it's simple.

Do a run at Azmodan at like MP5-7. Stay on him until you die or you kill him. calculate damage done/time, and you'll know your DPS single target. You should already be able to get your LoH numbers already from AS.
Actual DPS varies, but for me it's about 5-6x what the char sheet says single target.

But also thunderclap has a hidden attack speed increase and it will hit 5 times in 3 attacks

I'm pretty content with my monk, but I seem stuck with upgrades. Besides getting a witching hour, I cannot see how to reach 100k dps other than replacing my weapons. And I'm having a terrible time replacing my mainhand (which I got for 750k with 1d12 to go lol) with anything below 300m+. I decided to ask around here to see if I'm overlooking something very obvious. Two piece natalya's bonus would be nice, but I think it would sacrifice a lot of resist (currently running at 660 AR). And a better bracer/lacuni would be nice as well. Any thoughts?

I'm still a noob LoH Monk (that stacks IAS and don't feel like finding LS weapons), but if you go to a site like D3Up.com and load your profile, you can see the projected DPS for your skills like FoT, then add your SW + Cyclones (more if you abuse snapshot) and multiply by the lifesteel after Inferno scale to get an equivalent LpS

Most of your gear can be improved by a better version, it all depends on budget =). To improve dps id look specially at jewelry and gloves (also weaps).
Note that the lightning bonuses from your offhand don't show on the character sheet dps, you'd have to guesstimate how much that is worth. I suspect you'd be better off with some nice 'normal' weapon with dex, socket and CHD. That should definitely not cost 300M, maybe 50 orso.
