The current build I'm using is here. I am using a 2H weapon.
I'll try to explain as best as I can the "unorthodox" skills I am using so before you make suggestions you will understand the choices I made.
Frenzy + Smite : I like Sidearm better, but I feel that with the stun I can mitigate damage since the mob is stunned, although I am aware that I get diminished returns on rares and elites. Should I go back using Sidearm ?
Seismic Slam : I have always been a huge fan of SS since I got it. I feel it's a good AoE skill and it allows me to do damage from range. Paired with the Relentless passive skill, I can spam slams continuously if under 20% health.
Superstition : I always thought this was a top tier passive skill, but from what I saw in the popular builds and streams it seems to not used anymore. As you will see from my gear, my elemental resistance is low, so I would think that it is still a good passive to have in my situation.
You can see all my stats and gear here. Remind yourself that I am using Nerves Of Steel as passive during the screenshots. I feel that I have a high amount of HP, Vitality and Strength but my elemental resistance is low. Perhaps too low ? I would like your opinion. Also I am aware that the DPS on my weapon is low, but are the stats on it redeeming enough to not make a priority in gear change ? The last 2 pictures are 2 pieces that have elemental resistance. Do you think they are better then what I currently have ? What do you think I should change first given my current gold budget ?
Any tips are welcome ! Thanks !
yep resists are low and im sure you can easily find a blue weapon better than that legendary to give you more damage (don't know 2h that well but 8k looks kinda low)
when going for res gear try to get something thats 50-60 range unless you find one really cheap or has great str and vit but crap res, those should last you though act 1.
Alright, I'm sitting on 5 million gold right now. My gear is right on the edge of being able to break open act 3, I can currently clear most of it, but it's extremely difficult and time consuming. So, which direction should I be taking my gear with that 5 million gold.
Direction 1: Stormshield(around 24-26 block available at sub 5kk gold) My current Shield is an Ivory Tower with 4% melee damage reduction, 22 resist all, and the block chance and amount are in the screenshot.
Direction 2: Drop that 5 million gold into pushing my Armor up by searching out strong rares and grab a little bit more resist all along the way. I would be looking for another 10k life going this route as well.
I could pretty easily come up with another thousand armor and push to 900-950 resist all to help me break through the act. I don't think I have the gold to push my armor up and my damage up to a point where I can carry around less resist all, but I'm looking for some opinions here. I'm currently leaning towards direction 2, because I think I would need another item or two to support a Stormshield and can't necessarily afford to drop 5k life for one(my Ivory Tower has 44 vitality, 7% increased life).
Your HP is already low so a Stormshield really isn't an option unless you pick up one with vitality (which is unlikely). The armor route is without a question the better choice between the two.

I've never seen an inferno barb on stream use any kind of fury spender ever, and your build is a massive part of your problem.
Are you playing without elective mode? Do you know that you can run earthquake AND super saiyan mode?
Also, +res all is the most important stat in the game, and you want to aim for about 800.
So pretty much, drop your fury spender, change leap to the charge that heals you for %maxhp, change that passive that only works when you are about to die (seriously, if you get down to that low for the passive to proc, you are probably already dead), to tough as nails for the extra armor, and abuse dem Cooldowns!

Happened to me last night, like 5 or 6 games with no watchtower.
I've had it prob close to 10 times in a row with it not loading for me on new games. Thought I was just missing it by the end of it. Then it was there on my next load. It has some weird RNG streaks it seems. Won't see it for several games in a row then you'll turn around and it's there for the next several games everytime no reload need lol.

It hurts me a little on the inside, but I want to get a3/a4 on farm and I'm sure the Shield will come shortly after.
Part of the reason why stormshield is so good is the exceptional high block chance it potentially gives. I bought a 26% shield and regret immediately, cause I realized aiming for anything less than 29% is useless (unless you can get it extremely cheap), and you will just want to replace it again later.
If your shield is decent, and the rest of your gear not exceptionally good, Id say the ss upgrade usually is not worth the cost compared to other available upgrades, hell, even other shields for a much cheaper price should be considered.
I ended up selling mine with a loss and bought a blackthornes medal and ring of the zodiac instead. Both diablo and the act 4 elites went down without the ss.

lol i was just worried that they might have nerfed it (i don't see why they should its not exploitable its just a better route than the tradition warden/butcher but who knows what blizz is thinking nowadays)

Use sidearm, swap charge-dreadnaught or possibly ignore pain for seismic (fury spenders are slightly better for 2handers, but I'd still say they aren't worth it) and replace relentless with tough as nails. I also don't think superstition is that good, so if you follow my (and others') advice and replace seismic, you may want to consider getting berserker rage instead.
As for your gear, get a new blue wep for like 100k and look for gear with as much str/vit/all resist for the cheapest price you can find. All your gear (except necks, rings, wep and shield, which can give other better stats) should have these 3 core stats. Exceptions may be if they give an exceptionally high amount of 2 of the stats, or in the case of a headpiece, a str/vit + resist all + gem is also good. Life% is also a stat that could make up for no or low amounts of vitatliy. If a piece gives alot of str and vit, you can allow it to have slightly less resists, but otherwise I would aim for minimum 50 on every piece on avg for a start.
The act2 "wall" is fucking crazy, I thought only the champions/elite packs would be hard, but even the white mobs are destroying me... holy shit. Looks like I'm going to have to stay in act1 for a while and farm warden/butcher.

From what I see, instead of looking for Armor/Resist All you should get more Strength and Vitality, about 250 more of each stat would give you enough armor/dps/hp to clear Act 3 more easily. I also agree with Dmn that unless you get a 29%+ block chance stormshield it's not really worth it.
That's the path I've gone for Act 3, sacrificing Life on Hit for more Str/Vit. Stats with War Cry + Enchantress here: + Show Spoiler +
Can anyone please explain to me why is Helm of Command so much more popular than Mempo of Twilight?
Seems to me since I already have Stormshield I could get more HP, some resist and a STR mode with the so-immportant attack speed for MUCH cheaper price while I only lose 8% block?

What am I missing?
iirc block happens AFTER all the reductions of damage from armor/res/%reduction

While gear really helps a LOT, when I hit this wall I had to learn two other things as well, maybe this will help you too. In Act I I could face tank everything, elits/champions, all the normal mobs. That attitude does not work in Act II when you gear is not as insanely good (all Act 3/4 gear) as you might want. So, when you hit Act II, the following two bad habits you might have picked up will be punished harshly:
- Bad movement. The start of the act hits hard, for example with the poison wasps. You should be able to walk around between 5/6 of them and still dodge all the little projectiles. If you cannot do this, that is part of the problem. Using leap is allowed. A second thing that hits you hard are the Lacuni huntresses, you have to move out of the target of their firebombs, finally, there are the berserkers or the Lacuni hunters that have a really strong but slow attack. You have to be able to dodge out of the way of these attacks as well. The weird thing is that you can have gear that allows you to take EVERYTHING that Act 1 has without problems (facetank the Butcher in his fire without problems), yet be punished by the white mobs in act 2.
- Bad cooldown management. You cannot dodge all the time, you need to do damage, and tank a bit while you are doing that. In order to close and stand toe-to-toe with some of the melee mobs, you have some pretty strong cooldowns, but you need to use them the right way. For example, the Leap with 3 seconds of 400% armor, followed by Ignore Pain with the 7sec damage reduction into another leap with 3 seconds of extra armor gives you 13 seconds to do damage, then you need to get out. Not chaining these cooldowns properly gives you less time to do damage, and not GTFO after you are done with the second leap will get you 1shotted. A similar story is with healing combos, such as jumping into a pack, Revenge heal, and furious charge heal out. But be prepared to kite much more than in act I.
