Barb <--- Upgrade priority? I know my resists are awful, but I'm just farming act2 for the time being.
edit: Going to invest about 30mil edit2: btw. ww barb will still be playble in 1.05 right? thx

http://d3up.com has a good gear comparison tool (your gear vs. your gear with 100% perfect stat rolls)... and DPS gains by stat. And you can also import/create items to see DPS changes. Like a mainhand or offhand.

Yea, and it lists your dps & ehp contribution PER SLOT, so you know exactly what to upgrade to improve your dps without hitting your EHP too much.

Your shoulders are backwards, focus on STR there. Forget AR on helm and get crit there. res on chest, more res on legs and more res on your res.

ofcourse it will be playable...for really high end gear players...30m? I don't believe it will be possible to be effective. It would be better in my opinion...to go more back to the tanky style...or hold off until someone else finds a way around the nerf.

a build that seems to be quite strong is the following:
sprint, battle rage, wotb. so far so good. but then it uses hammer of the ancients with smash rune, frenzy with maniac and overpower with crushing advance. (one could probably still use warcry impunity instead of overpower though.)
basically its a traditional melee barb instead of the mobility-based playstyle of ww/sprint. sprint is still used for hard mobs that have to be kited and to get from mob to mob more quickly. this build is far superior than ww/sprint on high mp levels, where damage and not mobility is the limiting factor for the effectiveness of the runs.
for an example, see http://de.twitch.tv/bloodshot01/b/333798868 at around 5:20 onwards. he was able to solo all ubers on mp 10 in less than 5 minutes each.

I should clarify that I mean have more res where you have it so you dont have to have it in other slots like helm. I guess it sounds like I am saying get heaps more res, sorry

some thoughts:
- overpower with crushing advance reduces damage taken by 35%, which equals to an increase of ehp of 53.8%. (1/0.65 = 1.5384..) at the same time, warcry with impunity offers an increase of ehp of 44% after the patch. as the effect of overpower can be kept up quite easily during fights, i think that it might be the preferable skill for beefing up. - i have over 50% cc without and over 60% cc with wotb as well as a decent attack speed. still, i was not able to keep up wotb with an axe unless there are at least 3 monsters or 2 which get hit perfectly. i was already using animosity btw. this is particularly troublesome as fights against yellow elites typically end with the boss being left over without minions or trash mobs left. in this situation, wotb runs out quickly. if things stay like that, i wonder if it might even be worth it to replace wotb altogether.
has anybody been able to keep up wotb without using either a mighty weapon or 5 piece IK? I bought an axe on the AH in the PTR to try this. Didn't have too many problems keeping up WotB, I did find myself bashing more though (I wasn't using animosity either). Just bash stuff if there are less than 3 monsters and it should extend your WotB. I do have 70% crit with WotB but I don't think it matters too much.

What are your attack speeds? I'm hoping with my huge attack speed (~2.2 unbuffed) that I can maintain....
|
mine is 2.4 with wotb.... got attack speed on gloves, amu, bracers and a dagger offhand. but should be rather easy to get on rings once 1.05 hits. (because all rings that drop can have good affixes, so that the supply will ramp up significantly, which makes better rings affordable.)
|
Thx for the comment on weapon, I did find a good upgrade, 1050mace w/ socket and strength, so i'm only losing 100vit. Now the only problem is this puts me below the "40k minimum", with my 35k hp spikes can kill me pretty often.
What's up with this affix on ring stuff you talk about? I've seen some wierd stuff like 900+LoH amulet on 1.0.5 but I don't really get what's going on.

I have an average attack speed of 2.56 with WOTB, so I guess that isn't a huge improvement over yours. Right now I am running Overpower + Killing Spree though, so I'm at 70% crit with WOTB....
We'll see. I will probably sell my amulet and ring soon, and re-buy something shiny later.

I was using a 1.4 axe (had some attack speed on it) with a 1.4 sword. Only IAS I had was the 9% from Andy's so my attack speed should be lower than you guys.
