true. but i wonder how he gets his fury going... he probably never hits anything more than once or twice.

ok, i think i have finished my barb. here he is:
http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/BlackXistenZ-2929/hero/3406592
what do you think of him? do you see any glaring weakness or a way to improve him without spending 20 million upwards for very minor upgrades?
the offhand is just there for testing purposes, it cost me only 167k. atm it feels like it provides about the same amount of survivability as my old one with almost identical stats, except for 920 loh instead of the 420 loh and lifesteal of the current one.

Switch armor passive: 7,5/4 > 1,2

The explanation for this is the presence of War Cry and the Enchantress Buff. The calculation is not as simple as Duvon made out.
If you had both Nerves of Steel and Tough as Nails your Armor would be as follows: Armor = (Armor from gear + STR +VIT) x (1 + 0.20 + 0.15 + 0.25)
That means if you already have War Cry and Enchantress, but neither Nerves of Steel nor Tough as Nails: - Adding Nerves of Steel would increase your buffed armor by VIT x 1.35 - Adding Tough as Nails would increase your buffed armor by (Current buffed armor) x 0.25/(1+ 0.20 +0.15) ie Adding Tough as Nails will increase your buffed armor by a further 18.5% --- NOT 25%.
In most people's cases, Nerves of Steel is better than Tough as Nails.
edit: typo, I wrote NoS increases your armor by VIT x 0.35, instead of VIT x 1.35 ... a pretty big mistake, haha.

he has actually 384 allres (maybe you forgot the ik set bonus ). that is more than enough with such a high killspeed.

Ah, enchantress. I'm still using Templar.

Hi, thanks!
I have a 30% crit barb but i dont want to play double tornado, what fury spender would you guys recommend that can benefit most from crit and ofcourse deal most damage. I use rend because its a dot - constant damage through the whole fight. Is there a better skill?
My build is the general tank with ignore pain, warcry, revenge, wrath of the berzerker and frenzy + fury spender (rend currently)

Hi all barbs out there, a new comer to TL, ww barbarian on US server.
Amazingly in depth analysis and friendly thread with helpful inputs. I ran into this thread while searching the usefulness of Sky Splitter. Real nice community. Been reading this in office the whole day.
So the above link is my character, was using Echoing Fury but sold it after a couple of runs, the fear proc is just too annoying. Hence thinking of getting a Sky Splitter instead, what do you guys think? Any of you found it useful for a ww barbarian?
Besides that, any comment could be made on my build and gear? I wish to get a Tyrael's Might or Lacuni but that would mean sacrifing my already low AR, so still figuring my AR issue while farming.
P.S. Take a look at my Andariel's Visage! More fire damage% than poison nova chance!
Thanks!

Welcome to TL :D
First thing right off the bat is you gotta get an axe or mace in your mainhand. You can opt for a mighty weapon if you choose. Second, I'd search for a dagger or sword off hand. Personally I'd put Bash - Instigation as my main attack, it's the best fury generator but if throw works for you then do it. As you mentioned your AR is very low and your health is actually right at the bare minimum.
In general, I think you need to be ok with dropping some damage for more survivability cause if your dead, you certainly aren't doing damage and if you die more than once or twice (hopefully less) during a run, you are becoming inefficient. I'll link my profile to show that even though I do less damage, I can farm very effectively cause I don't die and I can keep moving through the levels fast.

My barb is pretty average really but you get the idea - add in some more survivability, even if you have to sac some offense imo.

Thank you for the prompt reply Charger
Yep the sword on mainhand is a dummy; just sold the Echoing Fury and considering the Sky Splitter, or a decent rare axe. and primary skill is Bash - Instigation, was trying new build so did not manage to change it back before log out
Very true about my health my AR, i should start to replace my Visage and Firewalkers with better stats like +AR or + life % or Vit

A friend was nice enough to lend me a Sky Splitter that dropped for him, and after playing with it for a while I would say it's not worth the money. The proc itself does decent damage (~20k if I remember correctly), but you have to remember the proc coefficients of a sprint/ww barb are tiny. I believe that tornadoes only have a 20% proc rate, and whirlwind is even less... ~13% I think.
This means that if the weapon has a 20% chance to smite an enemy, in reality that's only a 4% chance to smite on a tornado, and a 2.6% chance on whirlwind. Basically you should be able to get a lot more DPS for your money just buying a normal weapon.
I will review your gear and other questions in a bit when I have time....
