AFAIK, it's only vault. They have a skill that recharges discipline, but still relying on vault. Caltrops = grasp of the dead. I think everyone dies to those lacuni you meet when they play act 2 for the first time . But there is more to act 2 than just more mobile mobs, the average damage coming at you about doubles. Instead of getting 2-shot or 3-shot, you get 1-shot or 2-shot by faster mobs.

Also about brick walling, and this was the same for a friend who did it seperately from me, and is similar from everyone i know in the game who plays a sufficient amount, act 2 is the brick wall for gearing up, but the brick FORTRESS is act 4. What i mean is, I got to act 2 inferno and all I had done was buy a weapon on the AH and some gems that was it. The ramped up difficulty forced me to go farm and regear completely. But once you gear up from the AH with a few days of farm, you should have enough to get through acts 2 and 3. It will be act 4 that stops you dead in your tracks, noone I play with it in the game has beaten it yet. Once you are geared up properly, act 2 takes time but the hardest thing is actually Belial. Act 3 is way harder to get through, but the bosses are really easy.

You forgot about those invisible snakes in A2... you can see them coming but can't damage them. So fucking annoying. That's another brick wall. A4 is the fortress because well... it's the final act. It's rightfully difficult. Corrupted angels are no fun. If A4 was a cakewalk, then the complaints won't stop coming...

Very true but I just mentionned this because people only talk about the act 2 difficulty, but with proper AH gearing which everyone can do now act 2 isn't really a roadblock anymore.

And cleared Rakanoth in group with my WD today, I must say looking at the patch that is coming, a double nerf on inferno (difficulty and group dmg) is really gone make this a breeze.

Did run into an annoying problem. After clearing Ikatsu (mini-boss right when you start act 4) easily with my DH, I tried the same with my WD but it didn't work. Cannot use splinters against so many small mobs, so I switched into VQ+SA with first dire bats then bears, but they just ran me oom incredibly fast and the mana regen can't keep up. I think my 2.21 attack speed is the reason for this, I have +8 on my mojo which is enough for splinters, but now it looks like I need to regear too just to play VQ builds.. pretty sucky.

witch doctor is terrible lol. i have done everything in the game as a witch doctor and played a ton with all the other class and i can safely say that witch doctor is far and away the worst class in the game. gonna reroll barb and sell all my witch doctor gear(over 100m worth of gear lol)

well, the game is really terribly balanced atm anyway (not to speak about the usefulness of legendary weapons, lol)... some classes, namely DH and Wizard are getting gear so much easier than others. guess you just shouldn't think about it.

most funnily, i always thought what makes a WD special is that he has some summons. given we can't use them on inferno at the moment we are just terrible wizards. hope 1.03 will fix that! =/ given that there is still hope the pets are gonna get decent i'm unwilling to go all in on DPS (i.e. no Vit/all res), because on one day those stats might get useful and it's really retarded anyway to prefer a 200 int blue item over a allround item with like 100 vit 100 int and 50 all res and other stuff, atleast it feels so to me.

WD is just horribly designed cause the experience doesn't really get any better after you get good gear. Summons and all the passives that affect summons are useless. Mana is poorly designed because you need VQ to use any of the big mana spells and VQ is the worst of them all... "you have 6 skills but you can really only use 2 of them when you please". Must've been some mad skilled WD players at the Blizzard HQ.

It's not an esport yes but why on earth would anyone play a class that's so much worse than the other ranged classes and on top of that it's not fun to play at all.

Yup, signed. If dire bats was actually spamable without VQ i could see WD better, however first i would be happy if summons were actually good. VQ needs to be changed imo, i don't like the idea of needing to use 4 CDs all the time.

Still i'll keep on playing my WD, i would also have monk at hell difficulty but i rather play the WD at the moment.

Meh I'm over the Witch Doctor for now. Just refilled Demon Hunter. I'll come back to WD when 1.1 comes out if it makes them more fun and less restricted.

I ve played WD till a bit above level 40 now. I thought he would be simular to my fav class the Necromancer from diablo 2 (and generally my fav class), but alas even though I like the clothing and many of his spells, especially ghostwalk and acid rain and soul harvest. I am really annoyed that I ve to auto attack every enemy down. In D2 the necro was a Spellcaster, ffs.

Besides that, I'll intent to switch the class until the WD is more than a bad/weak copy of the DH.

Since I haven't much experience with the other classes yet, and only played solo this far, could you recommend me a class?
Does the Wizzard has the same problem?

Fixing summons, probably with the obvious move to let their surviveability depend on gear, will probably make VQ better as well.

Everyone needs to start using phantasm. It doesn't drain mana as fast as bears so it's viable to use pierce the veil passive with it. It has stackable damage over time, can bypass elite walls, has high range, and can even be cast prefight in a lot of cases. It's one of our best mobbing abilities in my opinion.

Tried using it, was inferior to a ton of other spells. The DoT isn't really high, mobs will frequently move out of the cast location. Acid cloud does more damage and has a wider AoE.

Pet survivability does depend on gear, but probably different stats than you realise. Pets benefit from armor and resistances from your gear... just read more here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5271500086

Pets however do not scale with vitality or intellect, which is a huge concern for WD's considering the gear we invest in. Blizzard has mentioned concern that pets were too fragile, so a buff or change in scaling factors should be incoming.

Anyone know how Jungle Fortitude stacks with Armor and Resistance?

So, let's say my armor reduces damage by 50%, and I have enough Physical Resist such that it reduces damage by 40%. As far as I know, the reductions stack multiplicatively, so I if I was going to take 100 physical damage with no armor or resist, I'd take 100 - (100*.5) - (100*.5*.4) damage = 30 damage with my 50% reduction from armor and 40% physical damage reduction. If I were to also add in the 20% reduction from Jungle Fortitude, how would that be calculated? Would it be 100 - (100*.5) - (100*.5*.4) - (100*.5*.4*.2)?

If these calculations are completely wrong then please correct me, I just did a bit of googling so I'm not too sure myself.

Jungle Fortitude works exactly like that. Basicly its just a 3rd stat like armor and resistances.

Also vison quest is terribly designed. You get rewarded for spamming all your stuff all the time, instead of strategically. The good thing is it does multiply your mana regen so if you have 20 base mana regen and like 25 from gear its all multiplied from the 300 or 400%(forgot exactly what it was). I was spamming bears/bats with fast 1hander and IAS weapons without running outa mana or running outa mana very slowly, but its still a bad design. WD with VQ is maybe at best as strong as wiz/dh with way less control of your character with all the stuff always on cooldown and 10x as frustrating to play and WD without VQ is just a weaker version of wiz/dh.

oh yeah? done everything? beaten inferno hardcore? dont talk out of your ass, wd is the best class out of the non-melees for HC.

We have spiritwalk and vessel, thats the only reason. I wouldnt put it as 'best class' but more something like 'most likely to get out of a sticky situation'

yeah thats the only reason, so what? it 100% does make it the best class because when u get almost 1 shot by everything, everything is a sticky situation. There is a reason the one guy progressing in act3 inferno hc is a WD.

the thing is imo WD is probably the most versatile and fun to play class up until Hell. Thanks to our awesome CC spells plus pets and various nuking spells, there were so many combination of spells i used throughout my gameplay from normal to hell. I just change my spells setup whenever i was bored/felt like it. WD is almost like the combination of different playstyles of necro in one character, thanks to the rune system.

It is very disheartening to see that WD is absolutely shit in inferno mainly because we are forced to play as a sub-par dpser since all the pets related spells are useless. My mate even joked that either the people in blizzard's testing group are racists or simply wanna piss WD players off lol
is 2017, stop being lame, fuck's sakes. 'Can't wait for the rise of the cakes and humanity's last stand tbqh.'
