Or if you want to clear act 2 normally, do it in group and body-hop past everything, that is how a lot of people are doing it. Belial will be a serious roadblock though, his phase 2 is insanely hard to beat on inferno. I have given up on him for now until I get better gear and am doing act 3 now.

I have the exact same experience in inferno, and I think every witch doctor has. I have 25k dps but demon hunters and wizards with worse or similar gear will still out-dps me by a large amount. My CC and BBV can somewhat make up for this, but the problem is if I get grouped with let's say a Monk, Barbarian and another WD, I already know we won't be able to do anything and this has proven 100% true. The only way I can clear content in group is to pair me up with 3 DHs/wizards. Still, your best bet is to focus on dps. At 17k dps and 33k hp your stats are way off, drop a lot of vitality gear for more dmg.

all of my armors are with int/vit, having the highest i can get for under 200k per item focussing on int of course. gloves also have atk speed. then i have 2 20dmg/int and 1 atkspeed/int ring/amulet. my weapon is 700 dps, which isnt quite high, but with decent stats and anything i consider better costs at least 1,5-2 million. unharvested i'm at ~17000 dps at 34000 hp and my primary attack obviously is splinter poison darts.

spend some time on AH looking for weapons, you can easily find an upgrade with a bit of time spent for quite cheap.
I managed to grab a 820dps cermonial knife with mana regen for only 300k (and this was days ago, prices are dropping fast), there are deals if you look for them

bought an A3 waypoint to the start of the Siegebreaker quest for 100K because I wanted to get the fuck out of Keep and killed Siegebreaker
WD DPS is 39-40K and it still feels lacking against A3 elites
reflect damage is hilarious to fight against though having transitioned to glass cannon. never really had an issue reflect damage in A2 when I was still wanting to maintain a combination of VIt & Resists

worked well enough for me to get through A2
I accidentally salvaged my 390 max damage off hand because I accidentally equipped a 2H weapon which put my 1H/OH into inventory
worse part isn't that I salvaged the off hand though. it's that I have to wade through all the overpriced OHs because people can't value for shit and Blizzard can't be bothered to have a filter for min/max damage

Haha cant wait My friends are lvl60 grouping together but im on TeamSpeak with them. Basicly all chat revolves about them being dead 90% of the time , and they are only in Act3 hell

so i decided to proceed my game (after some hours of farming in other act), now i am kiting all day like a dh in act2.
i feel like i am forced to play as a subpar dh in inferno. with 40k hp, 30k dps (mostly pure damage, only have 30% attack speed added in, can go up to 40k+ if i soul rape 5 enemies), 350-400+ on elemental res, 500 phy res, 3k+ armor, i can kill most normal mobs in 2-5 hits in act2, more so with 1-2 hit if i do firebat but there is simply no way to kill half of the elites. shield/invulnerable elites will trigger enrage timer most of the time. One bomb from lacuni huntress still 1 shot me, well, i have 300hp left i think. with the same level of gears a dh would have no problem to clear act3 (a mate proved that and he barely has any res/vit obviously).
we are supposed to be nukers, but we cant nuke them down fast enough and without pets tanking us further expose the design flaw in wd. we need to buy dps AND vit+res, tell me this is intended. I do not enjoy being wd in inferno at all (at least from act2 on). The class is so much fun up until Hell but thats it. at this point i really feel like they didnt even test wd in inferno at all.
i am so regret that i missed the big exploit of that replenish chest may be that was intended............

I modified a build I found a couple weeks ago and it seems to be doing well for me, but I did just start Act II Inferno so maybe I will change my tune soon. Anyway, here is the build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#aZeRUk!XWV!aabacZ
Poison Darts as the main DPS. Grasp of the dead and wall of zombies for CC, haunt is amazing when kiting (which you will be doing A LOT of), hex is just amazing vs champion packs, and of course spirit walk. Passives are blood ritual, ptv, and spirit vessel.
I played MUCH differently all the way through hell using gargantuan, firebombs, and so on but once I hit inferno it didn't work at all.
My gear still leaves a lot to be desired but here are my stats atm: + Show Spoiler +
Any constructive criticism or other thoughts?

Good luck dealing with jumping cats, things coming out of the ground, and invisible snakes. I had a ton of problems dealing with them, and it seems your survivability isn't much better than mine (you have more resist/armor but less hp). I would take the jaunt rune instead, 1 extra second is so important. I don't like haunt; feels like a waste of a skill slot because splinters deals so much more damage even while kiting. Vision quest doesn't seem useful either; you don't have a huge mana sink like zombie bears.
I forgot to add that with your gear, you can brute force your way through Act 2, although you will die sooooo many times. You're probably undergeared for Act 3, so you're in a rough spot =/

I don't have vision quest :p
I am concerned about the same things you are. I used jaunt basically exclusively since I got it until the last couple weeks, I still can't decide which I like better - the healing is so nice too. What would you think about instead of haunt in the current set up?

I prefer zombie bears over haunt. I know some people skip zombie bears altogether, but I like it for bursting down stuff that surround me. Cast spirit walk, spam bears, hope stuff die before spirit walk ends. You will probably need some AoE when 3-4 of those invisible snakes suddenly appear in your face.
The one extra second of spirit walk is really useful. It's amazing how far you can run (away) with 6 seconds in spirit realm. That extra 14% heal isn't gonna matter so much when your hp is either at 100%, 40-50%, 10% or 0%.
For tougher elites, fetish army keeps them really busy while you can spam away poison darts. For even tougher elites (invulnerable minions, or fast accurseds), lure them into a corner and suicide...

I only briefly used zombie bears, the range is just so short TT but they do so much damage.
Fetish army seems interesting actually - I just haven't used that yet so I don't know what to expect.

i'd suggest go farm abit in the other before you do act2. i used to get my dps up to 38k (like you using 2x ring to boost atk speed xD am i right about that two rings :3) with around 24k hp and act2 gave me such a hard time because you cant get a single hit from any mob. with my current stats act2 is still a chore and i almost feel like giving up again /_\

Zombie bears dps is unrivaled. Multiple bears can hit a single target, making it deal up to 708% weapon damage to a single target. Use it when standing behind your fetishes, when enemies are trapped by grasp of the dead, or more frequently, when spirit walking. Most enemies are chasing you anyway, perfect to run into zombie bears. For those pesky shooting guys, splinters works just fine.
I used to think that fetish army is crap due to the long cooldown, but after using it I changed my mind. They tank a ton of damage from monsters, form a good wall of units to block enemies from chasing you, and deal decent dps. You should be able to survive trash mobs without the fetishes anyway, reserve them for elites.
