Most are below 25k health with 50-70k dps, as it currently no amount of mitigation will keep you alive for more than 2 hits in later Inferno A2-3-4, and they survive by killing mobs before they can be hit. Vit is great for Hell and even parts of A1/A2 inferno, but it rapidly becomes worthless or severely undervalued compared to damage. Also you need to pay more attention to the nonbasic stats (which is an issue i see alot of people fall into) Start paying major attention to: IAS, massive damage boost for splinters and other spammy stuff Crit Chance and crit damage, these have huge dps increases once your weapon damage gets high Yes I currently have some IAS and Crit chance on my gear. I have a lot of gear with sockets, which allows me some freedom to look for stuff with non standard stats since I can stack int and vit using gems. I'm going to look for vitality as long as it's useful. Its pretty useful in hell so far, so I will stick to my guns. I'm sure I will have to re-evaluate my strategy in inferno, especially if its as easy to get one shot as it seems.

First elite pack blew them out of they sky in like 0.2 seconds. ![]() Well, back to the same strat that i used in hell, splinters and locust swarm. :I What dps did you have for butcher btw? And does it need any special preparations if your gear is not full AH act4? My skills are slow field with 6sec rune, spirit walk, soul harvest and fetish army. I have been going back and forth between fetishes and horrify. Horrify gives me one extra get out of jail free card when my spirit walk is on CD, but on the other hand fetishes give me so much free DPS on elites, they can actually tank them for a few seconds. Oh, and what do you do against invincible minions? Like if they have something like fast too. It just feels super hard to get past those minions, to splinter that main guy, and when ever i do, the minions just block me, and force me to run with sw. :I

I did it like this on D2 also, first I made a hammerdin, he was my backbone character, after that came a sorceress, an amazon, etc. Yeah I did some act 3 and act 4 today, anything that hits me that isn't the weakest mob (fallen soldiers hitting for 20k) will either oneshot me or proc my Spirit Vessel. Fun. Pretty much every game I played act 2 and beyond in group evolved into a corpse hopping fest after meeting the first elite. Btw I am amazed you get such a high DPS with such a relatively low DPS weapon. I am only at 25k and I already find it hard to upgrade any gear piece without spending millions. (my bank account currently is 246 gold) Well I've spent millions of gold on the auction house. I don't think that I'm wearing one piece that I found for myself.

Because I upgraded the rest of my gear first and I'm really picky with weapons. I don't want to blow 8 million gold for a mediocre weapon.

Lose some Vitality and grab Intelligence. There is really no point in having that much Vitality on Inferno.

Buy focusing more on Int, you deal more damage which means you're able to kite and damage, kite and damage etc, more efficiently.

L-plague of toads - rain of toads R-acid rain - extended pool time or 1-soul harvest- health gain back 2-spirit walk- with 15% gain back of max mana 3-fetish army- the dmg on cast rune 4-big bad voodoo- rain dance passives 1-jungle fort 2-spiritual attunement 3 toss up with gruesome feast/blood ritual/spirit vessel/vision quest if you have enough mana regen Pierce The Veil probably more viable at 60 with good gear.

In terms of stats, I'm not particularly well geared. I use a 900 DPS 2H weapon (which go for about 50k or something now), 35k HP and about 450 resist all. Overall DPS, unharvested is 15k. I would take a screeny but I can't log on due to busy servers. <3 Blizzard. I use the following build that I put together specifically for Act II: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#aSUdeZ!XZV!accZYa. It's quite a change from Act I Zombie Bears but once you get the hang of it, I think it is really powerful. As you can see by the skill choice, it's a DoT/Kite orientated build. I'll go through each skill as to how I use it. LMB - Poison Dart (Splinters) : Pretty standard. Decent DPS and low mana cost. RMB - Locust Swarm (Searing Locusts) : High DPS DoT. Searing Locusts rune gives an extra 100% damage over time. All of the other runes are crap. 1 - Spirit Walk (Healing Journey) : Absolutely necessary. This is your first out of jail free card. 2 - Soul Harvest (Siphon) : Massive DPS increase which is needed for your DoTs. Also a good heal. If you get 5 mobs it is a ~10k heal. 3 - Haunt (Grasping Spirit) : Second DoT. The rune here depends on you. I found the mana rune gave me more mana than necessary and the healing rune was not really that noticeable. 4 - Grasp of the Dead (Unbreakable Grasp) : Obviously very useful when kiting. Passives: I use Spirit Vessel, Jungle Fortitude an Blood Ritual. Spirit Vessel is a no brainer. It lowers the cooldown of two of your abilities and provides you with your second get out of jail free card. Jungle Fortitude helps you take those sometimes unavoidable hits - I don't claim to be tanky, but I don't die in one or two or even 3 hits. Lastly Blood Ritual. This is a bit of an odd one - I don't really have a good pick for this last one - I feel that Pierce the Veil has to be taken along with a mana ability and I'm not prepared to give up Jungle Fort. I don't have a problem with mana and I can just change a rune if I do. The rest of the passives are all pet/mana gain type which are pretty useless to me. Blood Ritual gives the regen which I thought was probably the best of the worst options. Execution of the build itself is pretty straight forward. In terms of regular mobs, I will Spirit Walk into them, Harvest, put down a Grasp and position myself on the other side of the grasp before I pop back. Locusts is a short range so you will stand on the outer edge of the Grasp to hit things in it, then run away. While running away, just spam a couple of Haunts in. From this, any standard enemy will melt. Enemies with slightly higher health will be left on about 1/4 so you can just dart them to death. In terms of Elites, I'll pull them into a Grasp, Locust them and run casting Haunt behind me. I use my Spirit Walk and Harvest defensively against elites, which means that I only use it when they get close to me or pull me in with Vortex or prison me, etc. I use the opportunity to safely reapply Locusts and then back off again making sure each elite has their own haunt ticking. Weaknesses: There are some glaring weaknesses with this build. The only weakness against elite affixes is Invulnerable minions. Because of the way the enrage timer works if you are engaged with an elite pack for a certain amount of time without killing anything, it will put a dot on you and you'll die. Because you can't kill the minions you're likely to run into the enrage. I have killed these elites with this build, but to be honest, it's not worth all the deaths. Second weakness is not against Elites but against any unit that burrows/goes invisible. The only two I have found so far would be the lizard things that follow you under the sand and the snake warrior dudes. When they are not visible to you, they don't take damage from DoTs, which is kind of bullshit, but whatever. It makes dealing with these mobs difficult, but not impossible. If you put down a grasp, wait for them to come to you, they become visible just before they attack. You immediately spirit walk and put both dots on an then try and kite in a circle, keeping them in the grasp. Otherwise it's pretty strong. On two separate occasions I've been able to kill two elite packs at the same time given that Locusts spread to everything and Haunt spamming. Good luck with Act II and enjoy your Magda farm!

when i do coop games, i feel like my dmg is a fucking joke. it's not like i rarely meet people, who do considerably more dmg, but fuckin everyone seems to do at least twice my dmg. worst with demon hunters and sorceresses. all of my armors are with int/vit, having the highest i can get for under 200k per item focussing on int of course. gloves also have atk speed. then i have 2 20dmg/int and 1 atkspeed/int ring/amulet. my weapon is 700 dps, which isnt quite high, but with decent stats and anything i consider better costs at least 1,5-2 million. unharvested i'm at ~17000 dps at 34000 hp and my primary attack obviously is splinter poison darts. in short, i feel my equipment is alright and i also do alright in solo (except some elite packs obviously). i dont know how to do much better without spending ridiculous amounts of gold in auctions, but as of now, coop playing my doc makes me very sad.
