If you want to stick to that build you really really need some Arcane on crit gear. To help w/ recovering that arcane faster. Right now your relying on purely Arcane regen which is very slow. Getting a stormcrow will most likely hurt your dps a little bit but will increase your arcane regen a lot! You're also extremely low on crit chance. I am not sure what your budget is at the moment but you could use a better ammy and one to replace that is semi cheap. You really need to put some cc on those rings to help out recovering the arcane. Like I said i'd need to know your budget to help out a bit more.
Much better, but for this you would need MAX Movement speed. And somewhat decent kiting ability. Here's how builds/gear works.
For each individual build there is a certain type of gear. Granted I know your new and it seems like all you need to focus on is All resistance + Int + Vit but there is so much more to it.
Your direct build actually requires a certain type of gear setup. There is actually somewhat of strategy to designing and building your char around certain types of builds. For instance. Critical mass build requires heavy increased attack speed + cc + AR + Arcane on crit. Archon requires Heavy All resist / CC / Arcane on crit Orb/Hydra requires CC / Arcane on hit / Either Life regen or AR depending on what you want to do.
So there is a direct relation to what you should be gearing to what build you are using. So you should research and find out what build exactly you want to go... then you can start gearing your char differently to that specific spec. Critical mass = Best build for ubers/HIGH MP levels In my opinion if geared properly. Archon = Best build for farming MP1-4 MP it's extremely fast and reliable and super strong.(Terrible for MP + High MP, even highest dps Archon in the game @ 700k dps can't farm MP7-10 efficiently) Orb/hydra = Decent for farming but takes extreme kiting ability / but fun to play if u enjoy moving around a lot! But is slow for farming.

Well, im not really planning to buy stuff (currently has 3M, btw), im just looking for some pointers on what stuff to throw away, and what stuff to keep. Also, im not sticking to my build, its just i didnt find other combinations to work. I tried some close range spells, but too fragile for that, even with diamond and ice.
With the current build, i dont really need arcane, because blizzard is mostly for slow, hydra is 12 sec, and the main damage is signature spell. So i only need to put blizz back up again from time to time, and i can do that most times, and i can tp as well.

Depends, post ur bnet profile so I can see and assess....Some builds are more geared towards players w/ already a lot of ias. Some are geared towards players w/ less Resistance etc.
Ignore the skills in my profile, I was trying something that didn't work (was running an archon build for quite a while and am looking forward to CM/WW or whatever we can come up with). I also JUST found a pretty good Tal's Relentless pursuit which I could use, (somehow found four legendaries this morning! It was crazy!).
Like I said, ignore the skills, buddy asked me to come in for Ubers so I just quickly changed a couple of my skills around because so far running ubers in an archon build has been really bad for me.
Edit: Wow. I did not realize what gloves I was wearing. Gonna change those ASAP (got 800k in the bank currently).
Edit: Wait that's not updated at all. I've got andy's helm and some better equipment now... Not sure why it hasn't updated, I changed it this morning.
I have been thinking about switching to a cm/ww type build to run high mp levels in groups or solo. Right now I cruise through mp2 with my archon build and do well at mp3 any higher I start to die. What changes to my gear do I need to make this work and with what skill set best fits my gear. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/pucku22-1996/hero/14150044 Fyi I have a storm row with good Rolls and all resistance as its random if that would be better the. My current helm

Well if you want to swap to CM/WW your going to need a new weapon. Preferably a Chantodos Will thats the best weap for CM build in my opinion,a Wizardspike is a cheaper form of it. Also you will need to swap to a stormcrow, a one w/ atleast 4.0cc is the best option in my opinion. You will also need as much as ias as possible + cc to reach the CM breakpoints.
mmmhhh lacunis or innas pants for movespeed? currently still using my old legacy innas and was looking into buying a new one(good ones are quite expensive tho..).
so before i invest alot, innas + normal crit bracers (got a 160int,bit of vit/allres 6%crit one) or try to get good crit lacunis+ whatever
Lacuni's with crit have come WAY down in price. Used to be 50 million or more for int, vit and crit chance, now 10-20 million, so I would recommend that route.
first of all thanks to everyone giving advise in here. helped me a ton when I started playing again a few weeks ago. Now i've acquired some gear and started farming and its kinda addicting
any advice on my gear/build? I got about 30m to spend but I wanted to save that to buy good CM/WW gear for later on.

U could upgrade your pants for sure. If u drop the magic find you get a pair with 120 intel 200 vit and good all resistance with 2 sockets for 5 million or 10 million with the MF. Also upgrade the gem in your weapon To the top emerald
I already posted this in the CM/WW guide thread so this might be considered a double post. Not sure if this is allowed so I apologise in advance if this isn't.
I want to post my current CM/WW build here using a more "budget" option and I would actually like some advice on improving the current build with a budget of say 20mil or so.
Allow me to explain what I did. I went for a slightly budget route with this prioritizing attack speed and cc. My Chantodo's will has an APS of 1.61 (low) but I like the Lifesteal on it. My target breakpoint was 2.51 APS given that I would have to sacrifice so much more slots for attack speed than I would like. The target attack speed is 56%.
With regards to crit chance, I went for a very unqiue (abeit budget) option. I went for Skull Grasp and Mara's Keleidoscope with crit chance increase with Energy Twisters (which is the main Proc spell anyway). This way, I get more crit chances at much lower price points than if I went for straight up crit chance. I chose Mara's Keleidoscope because it has increased attack speed, good intel and vit and AR and crit chance for energy twisters (true, the max for this is +10% so I lose 6%). But for these stats, a normal amulet might set you back 5-10mil already. But I managed to snare this one cheap (3mil with a socket)?
So in a nutshell, total "effective crit chance" for energy twister: Chantodo Force 10 Skull Grap 5 Other random ring 4.5 Mara's Keleidoscope 4 Gloves 7.5 Total 31% which is on the low side.
I have a rough budget of about 20mil to spend. What should I do to improve either my crit chance, overall DPS or anything.
Well, the easiest thing would be to switch to the pinpoint barrier rune on force armor for that 5% crit boost, assuming your defense can handle it. That would take you up to 41%, which is WAY better than 36%. I'm assuming you're using the scoundrel? Then that takes you up to 44%, which is actually the beginning of tolerable range. If you need more defense, your boots would be an easy upgrade. Rare boots with 150 int, a bit of vit, 70+ AR and movespeed are under 5 million these days since everyone wants Zuni's.
Since you're getting life on hit from your pants, you could look into switching out stormcrow for a rare with AP on crit, crit chance, int, and a socket. It will probably be a damage decrease at reasonable prices (mediocre int, no elemental damage) but will help smooth out the build. Alternatively, storm crows with 3.5% crit chance are around 5 million at the moment. You'll lose a ton of defense from the socket, but it might be worth it. jESUIT swears by a storm crow with good crit, and he is doing something ridiculous like 160k damage.
After getting some tips in this thread I found that using tal rasha's unwandering eye and chamtondo's will with 10 apoc each gives enough apoc combined with a andariel's visage I was able get a reasonable chance to crit and ias for about a million then with some jewelery and lacunis prowler for approx 2.5 m i have 52 chance to crit and 42 ias added. Now i need to buff my crit dmg and then i can, hopefully, take on mp3-5.
