Also, if you're going Archon you're going to get much better damage out of something that has a socket, and crit damage on top of it so that you can get 140% crit or more. It's pricey but you can easily find pants that have vitality in addition to AR and good intelligence, but given the value of your other gear the pants struck out as only worth a few million, while other things are worth 10 million+ Your amulet is also laughably bad given how good the rest of your gear is, especially since crit chance goes up to 10% now. You can find belts with lower int, but a ton of vitality and/or life % so if you're having survivability issues that might help.

i had a pretty good source i paid 10m for back then. ~230avg dmg, 90int, 70vit, 8,5% crit etc. now bid on a fairly cheap(4,5m) triumvirate with vit , 220 int and ~205 avg dmg and it gave me a nice 10k dps boost buffed.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#VQhXYO!YgW!YZcacc My question is why don't more people use this varitation. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#VQhXYO!YgW!YZcacc Differences: Swap Energy Twister (Wicked Wind) for Arcane Torrent (Death Blossom). Goes from 252% over 6 seconds (Reliable) to 670% upon impact (unreliable). Im assuming they are roughly the same AoE. It seems to go with the logic of port in and AoE the mobs out. Huge crowds make A.T. super powerful as almost every shot lands. Also against bosses with huge hit-boxes, alot of the A.T.'s land.

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Stardust-1180/hero/326910 This baby can farm mp 4 or 5 very comfortably with as little as 100k dps and some decent defensive stats. As Kiwi already pointed out, storm armor is pretty badass right now and it spams lots of damages as you run around. With the new changes to how cc works, I also noticed that stacking lightning spells - in this case living lightning, lightning hydra and storm armor - and then using the forgotten Paralysis passive lets you permastun baddies with strobing spasms of sizzling mayhem. This shit is so much fun you won't even notice your Archon is up! Plus, the single target damage is nothing to sneeze at. Also, the fixed blood magic is now surprisingly effective if your weapon has no life leech like mine. My top advice right now to any poor mage looking to run Archon would actually be to buy a Skorn with int and dex, these things are retarded cheap as you can get dps as high as 1300 with 400 int and 180% base crit damage for under 20 million (wtf). Run blood magic instead of force weapon and you're good to go with a minimum investment, and the added dex scales amazingly well if you don't have too much of it already.

Wicked wind is great, because when you throw them up there, they stay there for several seconds generating you a constant stream of crits, which in combination with CM and APOC give you spammable frost nova, diamond skin and explosive blast. While death blossom deals a good amount of damage, it's channelled. So when you're blossoming, that's the only thing you're doing, as opposed to the usual WW build, where you're exploding, freezing refreshing diamond skin all at the same time, incredibly fast.

I have a question. Triumvirate just dropped for me and even though it has worse stats than my current offhand it still boosts my damage by 5k. If i had black weapon would it boost my damage even more?

A 1k dps weapon with 300 dam coming from Elemental would be the same as a 700 black weapon

Living lightning and Either WickedWind or Mistral Breeze I prefer living lightning because I like to kite and move around a lot. Mistral Breeze is just bleh for me it doesn't travel anywhere nor hit for as much dmg and Wicked wind is good but same as Mistral breeze. That's just my preference. I believe Mistral Breeze/WickedWind proc better then Living lightning but I don't have APOC either.

Will definitely use it against ubers for the improved permafreezing. Anyway, just wanted to second the comments above about a cheap wizardspike being the key to getting started with the CM build. While we have some strong wizards around, any upgrade advice? Obviously my source is the biggest potential upgrade, but giving up that 200 vit is going to hurt... Theoretically I think Chantodo's is the best path for me with the attack speed buff, but my god are they expensive. I have 60 million in the bank but that buys me a Chantodos with 7 APoC and like 50-150 damage. https://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/AlQahira-1183/hero/3305720 I also keep looking for a helm with APoC, socket crit chance, and decent int, but they are pretty rare. Now that they are getting higher crit chances on wiz helms looking forward to the supply of them going up. If only wizardspike got a random affix as well... IMO i'd upgrade your gloves asap. You could get some real good damage out of those...or if you REALLY wanted to up your damage a nice Witching Hour would give you the most. I bought a witching hour last night that upped me 25k dps/w 17%MF, for 52m. You could use some decent ias/cc/cd gloves tho or even ias/cc, cc/cd gloves. IMO it's better for the ias/cc though because you rely on fast ias.

Jesuit: The problem with witching hour is that I give up SO much defense. I feel like witching hour is more suited to archon builds, or at least builds with even more ridiculous defense like Kiwi's. Here is my current profile. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/AlQahira-1183/ Since the last post I finally got a decent source, and added even more survivability on my belt, and am experimenting with andariel's as a helm, but will probably go back to stormcrow. Now that I added some extra defense on the belt, I can probably afford to give up some of the vitality on the gloves and get some IAS on there. Will definitely look into that, thanks for pointing that out. I'm also looking at weapons with IAS and the energy twister skill bonus, but getting decent damage and/or AP on crit with those is extremely rare.

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Iuvenalis-2817/hero/1445782 I'm a quite poor Wizard, but doing whatever to make my hero better. Been playing with AO+Frost Hydra+Cold Blood for ages and got quite bored of it. I'm not a fan of CM Twister build either, so I had to figure out something new. I'm a type that likes to hit&run, so I created this quite good (I think) build. Frost everything (Deep freeze at least 5 targets) -> Disintegrade (Chaos Nexus) -> Hydra -> Kite with Shock Pulse&Teleport. It's fun. Still need some advices on my gear. It's nowhere near hi-end but as I said I'm kinda poor ![]()

armor is very low too, if u are palying storm armor u need some more defensive stats on your gear imo get a black weapon if u use triumvirate for its full potential!
