![]() I used this pretty much the whole Act 2 and Act 3, enough DPS for sure. I'll sell for 2 million.

21k DPS, 43k hp, ~6k armor with FA 1H/OF Blizzard, Orb, Hydra Diamond Skin, Magic Weapon, Force Armor ~170 Arcane Power My conception of build is as follows: I want to focus as much on crit dmg as possible - dealing a lot of dmg and regenerating arcane power by that. I don't use any primary spell so I'm depending much on items with: +arcane on crit +max arcane power +crit hit chance and obviously +crit hit damage. I'm now around 29% crit chance and +178% crit dmg. I had almost 36 crit chance but only 96 crit damage so changed that recently. Now I'm not as often criting (thus not regenerating as much arcane) as I used to but I have better crit dmg (still it's low I know). Eventually I want to have ~36 crit chance and ~200% crit damage, with good vitality and intelligence. Is it even possible to have it without having to invest into it crazy amount of gold? I'm struggling even to get one million as of now (crap drops). It's kinda hard to get +arcane power +crit chance +arcane on crit with good % at the same time. Afaik you can only get crit chance from amulets, rings, braces, gloves, helm and +arcane power +arcane on crit from helm, wand, source, so I'm kinda limited. I don't have much resists, and much armor, but I don't care. I can kite pretty well, and if I die - so be it. I'm playing with friends as a support anyway. Has anyone here similar build/conception? Has anyone here ~40 crit hit chance and ~250% crit damage? Thoughts? I don't want to play a lame style 4 defensive skills + MM + hydra. For me it's not Diablo.

I don't see how +arcane even helps? sure it's nice having a bigger AP pool but sacrifice good stats for it? f no. Anyways tell me how you do with blizzard against them soul rippers/ Stonehulks. You'll probably slot teleport/fracture then. imo you have too much hp and really really shit damage. but maybe your friend carry you ![]()

The suggested stats/skills are what I've used to get trough these acts; but it really depends on your damage output. If you can manage to kill fast enough with Arcane Orb/Piercing Orb, its definitely the skills you should use because you're gonna clear stuff much faster than with blizzard - if you cant survive long enough tho, then blizzard is the best choice. If you dont have diamond skin, you need galvanizing armor (passive) to help fight the reflect damage monsters. Act 1 (Inferno) Armor: 2700 Resist all (fire most important): 250 Damage: 20K+ Health: 25Khp Suggested Skills/Spells: Diamond Skin, Force Weapon, Familiar, Teleport, Piercing Orb, Arcane Orb Act 2 (Inferno) Armor: 5000* Resist all (poison/fire very important): 350 Damage: 30K+ Health: 28K+ Suggested Skills/Spells: Diamond Skin, Force Weapon (replace with Nova if necessary), Force Armor*, Teleport, Piercing Orb, Arcane Orb Act 3 (Inferno) Armor: 5700* Resist all (fire most important): 450 Damage: 35K+ Health: 30K+ Suggested Skills/Spells: Hydra (Venom), Force Weapon, Force Armor*, Teleport, Piercing Orb, Blizzard Act 4 (Inferno) Armor: 6500* Resist all: 600 Damage: 40K+ Health: 35K Suggested Skills/Spells: Hydra (Venom), Force Weapon, Force Armor*, Teleport, Piercing Orb, Blizzard Also remember, armor will reduce ALL damage (spells, ranged & melee). Armor is very important for survivability. If you cant find good items with int, resist all, +armor... you can also look for items with strength (as 1str=1armor). Resistance are essential for act 3 and further because most spells such as fireballs will hit for 60 to 80K damage (without resist). On June 12 2012 13:23 xOny wrote: anyone know exactly how much movement % blizzard slows? Trying to compare it to Temporal flux (30% slow) as i cant decide on a blizzard or AO build :p Blizzard will slow for 50%. The best thing about blizzard is you can cast it vaguely (without to much aiming), it saves you a defensive skill slot, a passive slot (which you can replace with galvanizing ward) and you can kite from much more far away (with the use of hydra).

I'm going for 40% crit chance and 400% crit dmg at the moment. I've dropped the concept of going mass +AP and APonCrit items because weapon with base crit dmg and socket and these adds have such low dps so it's not really viable. And you absolutely need crit dmg on your weapon. Finding an high DPS offhand with >7% crit chance is also hard but it's doable. The only other viable item which gives decent stats,+AP and APonCrit is the legendary Storm Crow. But my Andy's is way better because of extra 3% crit and 12% speed. It's not viable imo. Just focus on absurd amounts of crit with crit dmg and you'll be fine.

I have been toying with replacing AO with something else. Arcane mines, blizzard, hydra was almost viable, the mobs get slowed a lot. Mines have built in 30%, blizzard and temporal flux. There's just the bug that mines remove hydra heads and hydra cast clear all mines. Meteor (comets? the one that does 7 small meteors) is also something else that might work with AP on crit. Every small meteor crit gives the full +30, if meteor wasn't so awkward to use, or if I had more than 120 AP with FA, it might be viable. Might be funny on something huge like siegebreak or azmodan once I get there. I also tried every variation of arcane missible but the slow projectile speed and the channeling makes every rune but arcane mine mostly unusable.

I'm not really good with this gear thing ( I'm somewhat decent with AH though ) so I wanted to ask you about it. I feel kinda stuck at the moment, not sure what to upgrade. And every time I hit 4-5m I just can't stop myself to spend it on stupid stuff and go back to 100k so I can't really get expensive upgrades. Anyway, let me know what you think about this; 21k hp, 27% crit chance, 109% crit dmg, 47k dmg unbuffed ( 61k with magic weapon ), 450ish all res Obviously my hp is low but not sure how much an extra 10k would help. Also I like crit even though I'm not using critical mass build or whatever, I just like crits Gear: + Show Spoiler + Feels like I need a little more crit ( like 3% ) and some more crit dmg ( like 20 to 40 ) and maybe some hp. Oh and I also tried AP on crit stuff, but wasnt able to find good gear with AP on crit so gave up on it. Instead I go with Prism which lets me spam AO- tap the source no problem.

50k dps, 45k hp, 580 all res, 5800 armor, 1.48 aps. All raw damage, no boost on crit chance and crit damage. So what's next? Keep farming for better gear? But what's the point? For show I guess? Or I might try to roll other classes now, especially a WD so I can use some of my gear.

Your gear looks pretty good, but don't underestimate crit damage. Get crit damage and crit for your gloves, it shouldn't be that expensive even with all resist and int/vit. Maybe around 2 mill?

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#acQRSO!YdU!cYYbZY i used mainly blizzard/hydra before, but sometimes it feels like things just dont die quickly enough. so I'm using AO with tap the source as I'm also using Illusionist over Astral Presence (less mana, insane surivability due to being able to port whenever you take dmg).

I'm actively looking for crit dmg gear but it's really hard to find ( or maybe I'm just doing it wrong somehow ) I'll check AH for such gloves, but generally prices go off the roof when an item has both crit and crit dmg. Edit: Oh you're right about gloves! They are around 2m, guess I never bothered to look for that high for gloves being a cheap guy. But those stuff looks good really, fishing for a good one now, thanks. Edit2: Ok rushed it a little bit for no reason but found&bought this exactly for 2m; + Show Spoiler + ![]() Not bad I guess? That's a whooping +2.3k dmg and now I have 28% crit chance with 139% crit dmg. On June 13 2012 13:09 trinxified wrote: So how do people look for off-hands? Wizard offhand is probably the hardest item to search for really. For the very same reason, it's also really hard to sell so usually people way underprice very good offhands just to get rid off them. You can see my offhand a few post above, what I did was to filter for 8%crit and then check them out one by one for hours. I bought that one for 1.4m I believe but that just because I got bored and started checking ffrom most expensive to least. I bet one can find veery good offhands sub 200k if he wastes enough time.
