The rings come from a vendor so you shouldn't pay more than 20k. Another good place to upgrade would be get gloves with IAS or crit if you don't already. Your 232 int should be the equivalent of 150-180dps on your weapon so getting one that's a fair bit better will probably be pricey. I agree that your DPS is really low relative to the rest of your stats (except armor). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuCuIwwOof50dGpVRXhOYTZHNUJ3R1dWTmdNdS1TeWc#gid=1 seems to give correct numbers to you and can help you figure out the most efficient way to up your DPS. Thanks, that's really helpful. Just picked up one of those rings, they're up to 17-18k now though. (They seem to have hit the price ceiling where it's just barely profitable to vendor them and resell.) I'll keep an eye out for better gloves -- if only you could search for 4-6 properties instead of 3... For others who asked, I'm running 20 ap blizzard, venom hydra, 20 ap AO, diamond skin, force armor, and teleport (fracture). I'd like to swap one of those out for force weapon, but I really rely on blizzard to kite, I've finally gotten used to teleport, and not having AO would feel very strange, so I think I'm out of luck there.

My stats are 1150 dps 2h 0.9 speed mace with 56% attack speed increase from gears. 32k hp, ~320 resists, 40k dps with glass cannon, 34.5k w/o, probably 3500 armor. It feels like I'm taking too long to kill and take too much damage. Elite or champion ranged mobs can almost 1 hit me sometimes. Any tips for doing act 3?

Im suprised, that you have problem with DPS. Maybe your build is not optimized? Are you using blizz/hydra/magic missile/arcane orb? Anyway, if you are able to get to the siegebreaker quest, do so asap. Some areas are just real pain for us (and first quests in act 3 are one of them imo). Yestarday I had problems with passing Tower of the damned after siegebreaker. I believe it took me few hours to pass... 3 levels;P After that, everything started to go smoothly up to Diablo.

You could try grabbing temporal flux and dropping blizzard--that's what many people here use. On June 09 2012 06:28 vnlegend wrote: I progressed through Act 2 and now I'm in Act 3. It feels like my gear isn't good enough because it's taking a long time. Took like 2 hrs to do the first two quests. Had a rare ranged champion that killed me several times. I also run out of mana a lot and have lots of trouble killing elites, especially the ranged ones. My stats are 1150 dps 2h 0.9 speed mace with 56% attack speed increase from gears. 32k hp, ~320 resists, 40k dps with glass cannon, 34.5k w/o, probably 3500 armor. You have way too much attack speed for your build, IMO. Especially because you say you're out of mana frequently. If you're using AO/hydra you should have just enough IAS to kite properly and almost never be at full mana. Either pick up a signature as you mentioned or switch the IAS into crit/crit damage/more int. Your defensive stats aren't too bad... probably a bit better than what I used my first time through act 3. It was a slow going the first time through. Try to abuse small areas the enemies need to run through and keep them snared there.

I've been farming act 3 for a week now comfortably, but if i enter act 4 and meet opressors i know I'll die at least once for each of the shits (sometimes more often if they charge). Honestly after Soul rippers and Phasebeasts they are my most hated enemy...

Also, phael, the guy who said he had 130k dps, it simply is not possible at a 20 mill budget. I've looked, and the gear you have to get up to that with reasonable resistances/armor/hp is probably 5 mill+ in each slot, and most likely 10-15 mill in amulets, rings, gloves, and weapon. Although who knows, maybe if I decided to get an andy's + attack speed bracers/boots it could work.

However, I'll just say I'm at 85k dps, 1.3 attack speed, 37% crit, 233% crit dmg, .9 weapon speed, like 1480? int, 32k hp, 5.4k armor, 400 resist all. Definitely prefer resist all and armor over vitality, but I'm pretty sure vitality is easier to stack in order to get 3 shot. I got my 140int/60 vit/6% crit/socket helm for 1.5mil. Otherwise the IAS seems not that great, especially with how much crit damage you have. Also can I ask you why you decided to switch to a 2hander and what your thoughts are after switching? IIRC you use AO so you lose a fair bit of crit but get a lot more dmg/orb. I've been playing around with the idea of getting like +20 AP/crit on a 1hander and source and adding MM to my build and using obliteration instead of tap the source.

Yeah, I switched cause I saw a decent 2 hander (1400 dps, socket, slow 0.9 attack speed, vitality) for like 8 mill so I bought it and tried it out. At first it was difficult to get used to with a really slow attack speed of 1.15 and I'd die a lot more, but realized I was killing things faster because it was more damage per ap efficient. I also realized that that was the only way my DPS would get better, by stacking both crit and attack speed (which is expensive mind you), and if I did it with my 1 hander I'd just put myself above 2.00 which would just be too much. As for andy's, I got it before with a 1 hander and it was pretty much pointless. Going above 1.4 is super preferential imo, but I don't think you'd really need that. In any case, for straight up DPS there's nothing better I think. Crit and attack speed just give too much damage at high end gear levels compared to int, and now I'm at a slow enough attack speed to where it's actually good for me. But I also have a high int/crit/ap on crit helm so that's why I'm reluctant to try. I might wait for inna's glory to get fixed and give that a shot as well since that's a lot of attack speed and crit I didn't have before. I mean, maybe if you had infinite money you could go a slow 1 hander (1.2) with a ridiculous offhand and both would have godly stats meaning high crit, ap on crit, and high int/vitality with a lot of crit damage. But that's like 10 mill in the offhand alone.
