I probably died about 30 times and it took around 70 minutes to get from the entrance of level 2 to the entrance of level 3. 60khp 200resist 3k armor I've got 23k hp and 300-400 resist.. I think you should try and up your resists a bit at the cost of vitality, they are really better for defense maybe you can even take one hit from a ripper if you get more resist! Can you tank a soul ripper hit with those stats? It took me ridiculously long to clear the keep as well. And the tower levels are even worse. Erm... no. I can't. But if I had even 50k hp and the same resists I probably could ^_^

I'm thinking of rerolling a dh just to use as my farmer because they seem to be pretty damn good at killing things. How much do you think it would cost to gear him up to easily solo act 4 inferno? Could you do it for under 20m?

This guy soloed inferno act 4 easily, check what gear with this stats cost on the ah and you are good to go.

That would depend on what you want to farm. If you're just going to do aspects then you can do it as soon as you hit 60. Maybe buy a weapon first, but you can get a budget one for maybe 50k. Aspects are a joke in terms of difficulty ^_^
Anything else will likely require a substantial investment on your part.

Mortars/frozen/arcane though!
edit: To clarify, if I'm standing back while my duo partner/templar are tanking and spamming nether, I want to be able to keep firing without killing my survivability due to mortars and other long-animation attacks.

I'm in hell now and getting owned terribly...4 invulnerable/molten/freezing frog dudes...impossible.

Invulnerable can be pretty impossible, especially when they're fast monsters. Best thing you can do is reload unless you want to suicide a few times to finish em off. Demon Hunters have it pretty easy since Tentacles (lightning ball) will hit the boss guy

Will do, thanks for the heads up. Those frog dude enemies are absolutely terrible to kill for me.

My bow is like 690 dps, go ti tin the action house for like 50k. Nothing i bought from the action house costed over 50k... and i always searched for things like dexterity, crit damage, attk speed... never looked at vitality or resists.. so yeah i geared cheaply for the maximum damage i could afford, act 1 was painless exept from butcher.. i mean i can kill the guy but it takes me like 10-12 trys. Act 2 is horrible, every elite i came across had reflect damage and the god damn dudes that shoot mini mortars and jump at you from off the map to one shot you are so anoying. i guess I'll try to break some jars till i get enought to survive 1 hit break jars? Anyways, I would just get good twitch reflexes on smokescreen, because you're going to need it later on. Trying to gear for survivability while maintaining dps is pretty expensive and you can get pretty far with just good reflexes and high dps. I would pick up a quiver and/or cloak with +max discipline though, it makes a pretty big difference. For the butcher, you can swap in something with vit and/or physical resist just to tank those chains, because he's super easy once you can take that hit. I finally had the time to start on actual act 2 runs (maghda/kulle) instead of exploitative siegebreaker runs, and find act 2 to be extremely easy with a high HP/high resist/relatively low DPS build. I run about 35k HP, 500 resist and 24-25k DPS. There's no oneshots, no unlucky deaths and no smoke screen. Vault is so much more fun.
Which is just to say, there's more than one way to play act 2, and builds with more survivability offer options beyond the usual SS + nuke gameplay, which I still use for siegebreaker runs. The total amount of gold I've invested in this set is probably 300-400k in addition to my DPS set, but I'm enjoying it so much more.
My advice to people stuck in act 1 would be to invest in dex/vit/all resist gear over more DPS oriented stats (such as attack speed). It's both cheaper and will do the job more effictively in act 2. There's changes coming to inferno in a couple of weeks, and nuke-die- run gameplay is going to take a hit.

The rest of the gear can just have some dex and attack speed thrown in and you'll do fine.

Whew, all I really need now is a better bow, gloves, and boots, then I'll consider my DH finished. 90k DPS without sharpshooter. http://i.imgur.com/apiTO.jpg

Can't really be a "finished" character if you have 0 passive MF. Upper tier DH roll around Inferno with 200 MF gear on all the time.
Head doesnt even have a socket >.>

How the hell did you get all of that gear :S
I got a super lucky drop that sold for 7mil and still can't afford Andariel's, let alone Beckon Sail and a 1300 DPS Xbow.

The Xbow is just raw damage. No dex and no socket. Its not very good and not very expensive either (relatively). Thats why he mentioned he needs a better one.
Also consider that nuke/die comps are getting an adjustment.

How do you guys feel about the IAS nerf that's coming up? I feel like a lot of us are gonna lose out on a good portion of our DPS

Hard to say considering it hasnt been said how its going to be implemented and to what degree.

I would focus on crit chance a bit more to make up for any loss IAS.

How much did those bracers cost? And how can you survive without movement speed? O_o
I run around with like 80k dps and 14k health, so a bit curious how you can afford all that dps and vitality on items ><

Just did this, got tired of slogging through act2 inferno on monk. I'm at lvl 52 now, gonna take about half the gear off my monk, and the other half I found or was given by a wizard friend that has been farming act3 inferno.
I enjoy the monk much more, but you can't beat the faceroll dps of the DH, it is just so much easier and faster (so far). With the gear I have lying around I'll probably hit 80k dps without sharpshooter.
It is simply the best farming class in the game right now.

You swap gear for every white mob your about to kill?
Magic find affects all enemies. Theres no reason not to stack MF when your already playing a class capable of killing everything on screen.
At like 225 MF white mobs start dropping rares like candy.
