Your weapon is too bad i guess, got my bow 1k dps 18% ias for like 500k only.

oh are we doing the "my bow is bigger than yours" now? jk jk, i guess i'll shoot for around 500k doing jars and go for a weapon like that
Dont get IAS on wep, if you can get same dps wep without it (for the same price). This will make your other IAS gear more effective. Also look for those with a socket, a 50% crit dmg gems gives a ton of dps.

Anyways, I would just get good twitch reflexes on smokescreen, because you're going to need it later on. Trying to gear for survivability while maintaining dps is pretty expensive and you can get pretty far with just good reflexes and high dps. I would pick up a quiver and/or cloak with +max discipline though, it makes a pretty big difference. For the butcher, you can swap in something with vit and/or physical resist just to tank those chains, because he's super easy once you can take that hit.
Decided to finally get around to trying out cold damage on a weapon so I bought a 856 dps bow for 50k - and discovered that it worked just as well as my old 1145 dps crossbow. Mindblown. Slow is really awesome and I think Cull of the Weak is superior to Sharshooter.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on Cull of the Weak. I used it for a very long time on my DH and a friend recommended I switch over to sharpshooter. I find it a lot better imo. Everything dies in a few hits anyway so there is no point in having that extra 10% when you can just do a large amount of damage in a single hit which makes that monster die even quicker.
Bought an 840 dps bow for basically free this morning (1,200 gold) :D
I gotta say, when it comes to solo play I think fear elemental arrow is by far the best. I've tried puncture, impale, stun bolo, acid bolo, multi-shot, ice arrow, nether arrow ... they all pale in comparison. It's the only thing that actually allows me to stand still and dps elites down, and that's far more valuable than any other characteristic that the other things offer.

on a bow with colddam, you get 15% bonus from archery and 15% bonus from cull the weak, for a total dam bonus of 32.25%.
with sharpshooter and a crossbow, you certainly get less than that unless you have a high base crit dam.
in other words: your solution is great for budget builds, but for high-end dhs, theres still no way around crossbow + sharpshooter.

if you know the timings - u can ss 100% of his chains (i mean no blues, it's supereasy, but other ones)

I know. But it's even easier if you don't have to.
Hello fellow DH's.. I reached inferno yesterday and I have cleared ACT 1 on inferno.. but now that I have reached ACT 2 I feel utterly useless! everything I see one shots me.. my DPS with sharpshooter is 37000. without Sharpshooter it's 15000.. and I have about 26k health..
Any ideas on what to do?
should I keep farming the butcher on ACT 1 in hope of finding better gear? I am very poor too so don't have that much gold to buy anything
You could stand to up your dps a bit. If you post your gear that would help. As for getting one shot... well, you can farm a lot more and try to get gear with both survivability and damage. Or you can just accept that as a DH you will die to a stiff breeze and give up on defense and get really good at using SS.
Just started a Demon Hunter, what kind of stats should i generally aim for and what kind of weapon should I use, two one handed crossbows, two handed, bow and quiver, one handed and shield? No clue really.

I have good reflex and know his patern, but i have hudge latency and frequent random lag spikes so even if i see it coming and press SS, the character in the game sometimes doesn't actually use smokescreen in time.. If this game had LAN latency soloing with a DH would be a piece of cake going glass cannon (exept from reflect damage elites, seriously fuck these guys)
I was stuck on inferno act 3 keep level 2 for the better part of 4 days. Soul rippers rip my soul, not to mention there are usually 4-5 blue/yellow mobs before the exit. I luckily rolled into a run where I kited 3 blue mobs that had alright properties, and then smoke screen/vaulted all the way past mobs of monsters/soul ripper elites/soul ripper. I probably died about 30 times and it took around 70 minutes to get from the entrance of level 2 to the entrance of level 3. 60khp 200resist 3k armor

Your HP is realy, really high while your resists are really low. If you decide to gear more tankish (Which by the looks of your HP, you did) you really should try and up your resistances!

I've got 23k hp and 300-400 resist.. I think you should try and up your resists a bit at the cost of vitality, they are really better for defense maybe you can even take one hit from a ripper if you get more resist!

I got so frustrated with soul rippers 1 shotting me I went on AH and bought a bunch of vit stuff for cheapish (~150k) in exchange for dex. I think its about 40->30k DPS in exchange for 20k hp. I still got one shot by soul rippers anyways but for the archers and most minions I could take more than one hit, if I got hit at all.
