You can also kill bosses faster because with mark(me) NT cost basically nothing if they hit 2-3 times.

Right now I am using a 1H Xbox Dual Wield Build. Both of my 1H have high crit dmg bonus (50% gem in one, 70% stat in the other). 25K DPS straight, 63K DPS SS. I am stacking attack speed and crit chance where ever I can in my kit. (Using Archery, Sharpshooter and Vengeance). Skills are entangling, Elemental Nether Tentacles, vault, SS, Prep, Multishot.
I understand the predominant feeling is that 1H + Quiver or 2H + quiver is the best, but I really feel like this super crit heavy / attack speed build makes alot of sense. I crit for around 230%, and with SS and my crit chance stats (around 25-27% chance w/o SS) that is alot of damage. Also I seem to find that 1H Crossbows seem to get better rolls in certain stat categories. I have been running a +192 dext +160 vit +792 life on hit bow since I hit 60, and I haven't seen a comparable quiver. (of note: not great DPS on this weapon. It is 70 behind my other hand and I know this is really dragging my damage. I cant quit on the stats tho)
Thoughts on the viability of the dual wield crit / attack speed build? It is getting increasingly hard to find 1H crossbows that up my DPS, maintain the stat levels I currently enjoy, and are under 10M. Should I stick with this or is 1H Quiver / 2H Quiver really objectively that much better?
you know, I was thinking that this could be really good with night stalker if you had godly gear. if the chance to gain disc is high enough you'd never run out of disc for smokescreen...which would be real good. I think when people start getting the absolute maximized best gear, 2x1h will be the way to go, especially if you can get a bunch of dex on each one. I wonder though, what the different affixes you can get on compared to a quiver?

I think I may end up using mark when I'm geared enough to farm a3 in a group. currently, I'm struggling through a3, trying to figure out what to farm, as the butcher is too easy (has bad drops) and I hate a2. my priority now is surviving against champ packs, which rain is better for.

Search for 2h=>Crossbow=>lvl 60 with Strength=> Magic (Blue) items only. You get some nicely priced 1000 dps + weapons costing no more than a couple hundred thousand. quite good.
Crossbow scale best with Sharpshooter it's my pick
Edit: the problem with Int Crossbows is that wizards would actually want them so you need to look up a stat as useless as strength to get them cheap
Edit2: why magic items? because they are cheaper than rares

So i am in inferno act 1... I've been told to farm the butcher for a while because i need the money and from my sneak peak at act 2 it's very painfull. Thing with the butcher is it's very frustrating to kill him, the only thing that doesn't 1 shot me is the blue hook, but the hudge aoe red one just kill me in one shot. In a perfect world i can smokescreen it, however i have alot of latency (250ms is my lifetime low) and get very frequent mini lag spikes during the game so sometimes the smokecreen simply does go off... This and being dead simply by staying a little to close to the fire for less than a second makes the experience very frustrating because i die all the time to things i feel i can't control. i have like 14k life and was thinking that bringing defenses/hp highter so i can survive 1 red hook would make the runs so much smoother, does anyone know how much hp/defenses you need to survive one of those?
|
14k hp seems kind of low... unless you are building a glass cannon (ie. sinking every possible piece of gear into dex to maximize dps)? what gear are you using?
if you're constantly dying in warden/butcher runs, try going to the royal crypts and breaking jars with gold find gear + ferret companions. with a cheap set of gf gear you can get up to around the 200-210% gf mark and each run takes a min or less getting you 10-30k gold each run, and it's pretty hard to die because you can just outrun the skeletons easily. then try butcher again when you've geared up more with the gold you found. you can get a very decent bow with cold damage and 900-ish dps for a few hundred thousand on the AH these days which shouldn't take you more than an hour or so of running the crypt jars but you'll probably die of boredom doing it.
|
Woot, just get in inferno after 2 weeks leveling up again from stupid monk. All I gotta say is DH is fucking awesome!!! Never imagine that I could even stack a bunch of champion packs that easily. Got all my gear for 40k dps without SS and everything cost not even 1 mil.
DH rocks lol
btw is it me or xbow seems to shoot slower than 2h bow? the xbow even has higher ias and less attack/sec than the 2h bow. Weird.

Today I got really lucky and snatched a 950 dps crossbow with a socket for 55k (wtf?). Also rings with 70 dex and 15% IAS dont cost more than 30k from when I searched. I'm definately budget, probably havent made more than 2 million yet, and I have 27k dps w/o sharpshooter.

I got 14k hp, 2,5k armor and like 100 resists 1332 dexterity and around 20k damage without sharpshooter. My bow is like 690 dps, go ti tin the action house for like 50k. Nothing i bought from the action house costed over 50k... and i always searched for things like dexterity, crit damage, attk speed... never looked at vitality or resists.. so yeah i geared cheaply for the maximum damage i could afford, act 1 was painless exept from butcher.. i mean i can kill the guy but it takes me like 10-12 trys. Act 2 is horrible, every elite i came across had reflect damage and the god damn dudes that shoot mini mortars and jump at you from off the map to one shot you are so anoying. i guess I'll try to break some jars till i get enought to survive 1 hit
