Can you tank a soul ripper hit with those stats?
It took me ridiculously long to clear the keep as well. And the tower levels are even worse.

Anybody knows if there's any way to predict that frost nova Izual does? I'm constantly getting one shotted by that thing. I have been trying to ss at random; but most of the time it won't work (what a shock)
Also, thanks Tyrael for hitting the adds instead of the boss when he had 1% HP

for soul rippers, ss before you go around corners, scope it out. if you see them run back around the corner and throw caltrops, then fire at angles if possible or reveal yourself for instant. the keep wasn't hard, but you can't expect the same killing speed as everywhere else -- you have to be slow, cautious and thorough

Dunno really, guess I'll just have to check his healthbar more carefully.
Thanks!

However the time between shout and blast is randomly between like .1s and 1s.

"Easy fix for Demon Hunter - Smokescreen breaks invisible when you attack." Jesus christ, BNet forums, I just remembered why I don't read you.
If this fix were to ever happen, I'd uninstall Diablo 3.

I barely ever attack while SS is up, since I'm busy using my meager amount of time to buy distance to work with.

SS lasts for 1 second lol. You might get 1.5 - 2 attacks off

If this fix were to ever happen, I'd uninstall Diablo 3. I'd actually like this, it feels weird using it to facetank things while trying to dps them down before you die. I'd rather have Shadow Power in that role and have Smokescreen be for escape only.

Unless you are using vitality/resistance gear instead of going squishy DPS, I think you'd still get one shotted even with Shadow Power up(by Act 2/3/4 mobs, at least). Smoke Screen is our only real, reliable "oh shit I'm about to get raped" button.
Also, I don't really use it to face-tank unless I know I can kill the mob in 1 second. Normally I use it to force the mob to attack the templar and gain some distance so I can kite more with caltrops, but sometimes that mortar IS going to nail you, and you're gonna get one shotted.

fun fact: ur pets will crit 100% when you have 100% crit with ss (like running around not shooting, the pets will crit every single hits). Dunno if anyone has posted this yet I was screwing around in hell and found out this.

Yeah, those are ways that it should be used. Making distance, or blocking damage. I didn't say you shouldn't use it. I'm talking about the people who chain SS and spam NT at an elite, kill one, die, and do it again.

how do you deal with the shadow clones in inferno diablo and whats a good dps to be at to try and kill him. I'm currently at 94k right now with sharpshooter. Probably around 40k without.

Ive seen some demon hunters use rain of vengeance with the stun and just burst them down with ss and tentacles

It'd still be game breaking for DH's in their current state because a large % of the time the DH is going to fire an attack or land a hit whether you want them to or not (especially since ss is instant and doesn't interrupt).
This would also further break/ruin rapid shot and strafe which, while useless anyways, are at least hypothetically usable when in ss.

How does this work? Does the cold slow enemies you are hitting with nether tentacles? I bought a budget 946 dps xbow at 50k. I've been browsing the AH from time to time for xbows around the 50k-100k range and noticed that you can get around 950 dps around that price range. Ones with a socket or cold damage usually have around 5% less dps.
Are they worth it?

A little while back I was running with 35k hp 300 all res...still got 1 shot by almost every white mob in act 3. Full glass cannon is better in every way unless you got about 50 mil to blow on perfect gear.
