I prefer not to have the IAS on my wep as it means a low dmg range on it to get it's current dps. I want max dmg on the wep and can get all the IAS I need on other items. Side notes: else you can kill everything within your SS spam MS on boots is a must, seen so many people complain they can't kite yet they are using zero movement speed bonuses.
MS + immobilize on hit make for awesome kiting boots. Sure the proc rate isn't usually crazy high or anything (I have 3.5%), but it still helps a bunch.
IAS isn't worth much on a weapon and I think like 30-45% is all I want for optimal kiting without having to go to crazy APMs. So it's pretty easy to just grab 1-2 pieces of armor with IAS.

I'm still half asleep and lazy, what's a good rule of thumb when comparing dex to ias on the ah and also dex to raw dmg or a simple formula?

Wait... is the guy you are quoting talking about (2 hand) crossbows or 2 (hand crossbows).
Why the hell couldn't blizzard come up with a better name than "hand crossbow" .

he said "they" which implies plural

I've had pretty good success with Jagged Spike, chakram razordisk. It tears through mobs, and allows me to focus down certain enemies in a group. Reminds me of blessed hammer except you can focus down a certain enemy. I use vault for mobility and battle scars for healing.

I'm getting confused with the theorycraft. I'm normally running with archery, so I've so far preferred using 2-h bows for the 15% extra damage. Are 2-h xbows better if I'm also running sharpshooter at the same time?
I'm currently running with the build below: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#bRXklV!deY!acZacb
I'm probably going to replace brooding with sharpshooter. I just kept it for now to heal incidental damage without having to quaff potions that often. I kept chain gang because nether tentacles doesn't have a snare and it's pretty good at buying time when I'm short on hatred, at least in hell difficulty. Should I change sentry to caltrops or companion? I'm keeping rain of vengeance as an oh shit button but am not sure if flying strike or stampede is more useful.

On Act II Inferno, cruised through Act I easily.
Currently using: Caltrops(Immobilize rune) Nether tentacles Preparation Smoke screen(lingering fog) Rain of Vengeance(stun one) Hungering arrow(Devouring)
Have about 28k dps without sharpshooter, 49k with. 29k hp, 120 phys resist 115 all resistances.
However, I'm still getting one shot by normal mobs that pop out of the ground, or shoot the bugs, or jump on me(fucking laconi huntresses). Is my hp and resistance too low, or am I just supposed to pop smoke screen every time I step over a hole? They're hitting me for about 41k -- I'm having more problems with them than the elite mobs. Thoughts?
PS - My gear is ok, and I have a lot of money coming in so I'm going to upgrade most of it. I just wasn't sure if it's the gear or not at this point.

I beat all of Act 2 with 16k DPS while being one-shotted by everything. Just be super careful.
Now, how can I possibly deal with elite Soul Rippers (Licker things) in the Keeps...

Yes. After the 8th time these bastards popped out and killed me I made it a personal mission to exterminate their species. Most annoying mob EVER!

What's the deal with Izual? the fight is quite easy for the most part, but i can't predict the second frost nova. He does it before his indicator. The whole fight is so random and I need 10+ tries until I luck out the nova with a ss

How do you guys normally deal with oppressors? The charge attack comes way too fast starting in hell. I ended up kiting a unique one to a pole and making sure said pole was between me and it all the time.

tried screaming skull on acts 2-3 today. It feels okay and even good, but everything with what u can deal with screaming skull, u can make faster with tentacles (and caltrops, optionally). Just couldn't find any place where's it's better to switch tentacles out Now need to try high-crit build with lighting arrows

So i've been using Elemtal Arrow with Screaming Skull Rune on Hell and it was easy, i asked people if it would stay a absurdly strong spell on Inferno. Someone told me that the 40% fear chance would not really work on inferno, but after easily clearing act1 Inferno i've come to realize that this spell is by far the best crowd control ability in the game and it even works against elite mobs. You can't really die anymore unless it's a very ugly elite. The fear effect doesn't work on purple opponents like Butcher and so on, but it's not these fights that are the toughest in the game anyways.

I just switched to using Prep and I hate that I had been so stubborn.......

I am using the "old" build to farm siegebreaker 5 stacks and pony level sometimes,i die a lot but i get the job done. 115k dps w/ passives. I ll also start streaming for a bit now. http://www.justin.tv/hotcookies (ACT 3 inferno)

For those of you that have solo'd inferno diablo recently - how are you surviving his regular attacks? He seems to teleport and attack at a faster rate than my 45 discipline can handle (using SS/prep of course).

Monk needs kiting and good reaction too, besides it's harder to farm with him and you need some really good items to go past act1 inferno. With 200ms it's doable after some practice if you dont have other lag spikes. DH needs only offence items so it's really easy to gear compared to other heroes.

This is very true. I said it in this thread earlier. It's the best CC spell in the game. The only downside is it has to replace Nether Tentacles but it's often worth it. If you could have both spells DH would be OP.
