Check out the IdrA fanclub thread, there is an old interview right around the launch of SC2 where he believed Cool (aka Fruit Dealer) was the best Zerg in the world right at that point in time.

Idra: We practiced for 12 to 13 hours a day, had around two hours of free time during the day, and got, on average, two days off a month—couldn't really leave the house other than that.
I knew kespa had a bad rep but WOW that sounds absolutely horrible. There aren't any labor laws preventing stuff like this?
Anyways... give them hell IdrA, good luck!

BTW, how on earth does Idra survive with next to no money during those 2.5 years? And how does he fund all these trips??
He said he doesn't understand why they need a buff given that a single fruit dealer won the GSL. In other words, his entire argument is founded off of 1 tournaments results and takes nothing else into consideratioin. Never mind that the total number of Zerg victories at tournaments is dismal, a Zerg won GSL1 and that automagically makes them OP... very sound logic that.

Oh please, doesn't every athlete expect to win? Why would he dedicate his life to it if he didn't aspire to success? no reason to criticize expecting to win lol.

Yeah, we all know Idra is good and all but to say that fruitdealer just went on a huge win streak is pretty crap. His play was absolutely amazing, even with making mistakes there's no way all his opponents botched their games consistently back to back. Still looking forward to the vods/live games.

Idra: I expect to win.
Is it bad that I want him to lose? I kinda just want his ego put in place; I want him to see how good the top American players are. Or I want him proxy raxxed by some no name to see the Idrage.
Call me bad but I kinda share your feelings. Idra is something of a personality, there're people who want to see him succeed and then there're people like you and me who want to seem him whipped. :D
Personally I thought it was pretty bm to say ITR played "like trash" - I see where he's coming from, but "trash"? If I thought Idra would have put up a better fight in ITR's shoes, I wouldn't have had an issue with it. But until I see some mad skill to back up that talk, I just want to see him whomped (or lose to cheese :D).

i agree with all his points on game balance. very accurate and unbias analytical breakdown

Some Protosses are gonna try to cheese Idra like mad

Idra doesn't sugar coat, that's pretty much who he is. Sometimes you can hear him conservatively say something, but most of the time it's straight to the point and no BS.
Also most people agree that rainbow played well, but not up to this potential, or even as well as he did in previous rounds.
Anyways, I wish I was in DC just to see idra play. GL.
ps. I want to see your vids so I can steal your strats.

But we [also] have the least versatile openings and almost no scouting options until Lair.
Am I missing something here? Overloads + lings scout pretty well early on IMO plus you can always sac an overlord before Lair, which isn't that high on the tech tree. Protoss has even less scouting options and doesn't get any until Robo, Stargate, or hallucination.

looking forward to where he will place in D.C

Without Lair you can't upgrade Ovie speed, without ovie speed you're not going to see much. 1-2 Stalkers will easily kill a Ovie before it scouted anything, even easier for terrans. If lings ever get into your base to scout, I so totally wouldn't use them to scout, as I just could, you know, kill your workers. Seriously though, Lings never should get past your ramp and in most games they don't.

Easy for Z to scout the map, hard for Z to scout the enemy base.
