With his new found freedom I hope that he still is able to practice sufficiently to where he remains the best foreigner mechanically, by a lot. It's been mentioned before by some of the korean players/managers interviewed that idra was never the most talented but he works hard, and I hope that he is able to still do so and keep his advantage of being in korea, and putting that to use.

Rainbow played like trash in the Finals -

Thats a funny part. What would Idra's playstyle be described like then?

IdrA has got this.
Why do something, when you can do nothing?

Why do I get the feeling that if he played rainbow in the finals...idra would not have won.

its trash cause rainbow tried to play a macro game vs a zerg and didnt start harrasing until fruit had superior map control and could shut down most of it.

It's trash vs zerg cause if he just abused the early game where fruit went hatch first he would have made it alot harder for fruit.

Sounds like he's anal about Fruitdealer proving his balance insight wrong. He chose a convenient race that allows him to blame his loss on imbalance and his win on overabundance of skill while denouncing other zerg player's wins due to their opponents' incompetence.

Idra: We practiced for 12 to 13 hours a day, had around two hours of free time during the day, and got, on average, two days off a month—couldn't really leave the house other than that.

WTF!!!!!!!

Very good interview. My only experience of Idra before this was a few games, most of which he displayed some outstanding BM or ragequit (there was a reason these were the few games I watched, haha). But reading the interview and hearing some of his thoughts, I'm developing some respect for him.

whether rainbow played like trash and whether idra would lose to rainbow's trash are not related. it doesn't take an Apollo to figure that out.

Although Idra is the favourite to win, it might be better if he didn't take this one down.

If Idra crushes this tournament and then turns around and doesn't perform in GSL2, it doesn't give much hope to guys like HuK who are planning to compete in future GSLs =/

Also, Idra has said publicly before that he respects Cool and Tester. I remember in one interview after the King of the Beta he said that they were the best players he knew of at the time.

Great interview.

If Boxer said Zerg don't need a buff, then Zerg don't need a buff!

BTW, how on earth does Idra survive with next to no money during those 2.5 years? And how does he fund all these trips??

IdrA got salary/food/place to live in from CJ entus, he probably has plenty of money saved.
He most definitely gets money from EG as well, it's not like EG is just a random bnet clan.
