Here is an interview MLG had with Idra published today on the mlg website.

MLG: You’ve spent the majority of your gaming career in Korea with the pro Brood War team CJ Entus. Tell us about the move to EG, a team that was well-represented at MLG Raleigh.

Idra: After spending around two and a half years on a Korean team, I was a bit tired of the rigid practice schedule and lack of freedom that came with it, and the KESPA teams were dragging their feet on SC2. Given all that, it seemed to make sense to move to a foreign team, and EG was the obvious choice for me.

MLG: Give us an idea of the lifestyle and practice regimen of a pro gamer in Korea.

Idra: We practiced for 12 to 13 hours a day, had around two hours of free time during the day, and got, on average, two days off a month—couldn't really leave the house other than that.

MLG: That’s intense. Do you still train as extensively now that you’re off CJ?

Idra: No, a big part of the reason I left was that I began to feel it was counter-productive; we were overworking ourselves. So I still make sure I practice a lot, but not too much.

...

...

MLG: Last but not least, where do you see yourself placing in D.C.?

Idra: I expect to win.

Rainbow played like trash in the finals? 0.o

Why do I get the feeling that if he played rainbow in the finals...idra would not have won.

You do not need to be better then someone to criticize their play. Almost everybody in teamliquid does this.
WeMade FOX would be a deadly SC2 team.

"Played like trash" is just the harsh way of saying "didn't play up to his potential".

Comparing his previous games and the finals, that's not an unreasonable statement.

You might be right about the last part of your post, but Rainbow did play pretty poorly in the finals compared to his other performances. When he lost a game against Ensnare in the semis, he was able to completely regain his focus and completely dominate Ensnare in the next three games. After losing his first game in the finals, though, you could tell Rainbow got flustered, and chose to stick to the same build order, even after Fruitdealer showed he was able to counter it perfectly.

Regarding the OP, it's certainly interesting to see Idra's view on the state of things. I wonder if his opinions on balance have changed at all since 1.2's list of possible changes got published?

He probably meant relative to how he was doing before that, which is fair.
