As a Zerg player:

Making rax require a depot is a bad change, imo. It really lessens some of the super early game options which are so important for maintaining a multidimensional meta-game. (Hell yea, I used that word.)

The other stuff sounds pretty sweet, though increasing roach range might be a little bit imba...

Honestly, this doesn't bother me. Everything the reaper does can already be done by other Terran units. It'll still see play, but games won't revolve around the reaper anymore.

The Roach buff is huge. Not just in the midgame like they're talking about, but for early defense as well.

The reaper nerf is also really substantial.

Very happy for those changes as a zerg... except the Barracks and Nitro Packs thing. I think they're over-doing it. Reapers aren't that dominant since the last nerf.

nooo They're essentially taking out BBS. So sad.
on top of it, zerg can pretty much 14hatch vs terran every game, too.

I found this particular piece of information very very interesting:

-In Diamond league:
49.6% win rate for Protoss when fighting Terran.
52.8% win rate for Protoss when fighting Zerg.
49.6% win rate for Terran when fighting Zerg.

And here I thought it was total darkness. There's been some discussion whether Blizzard is polishing these numbers or not. But if this is legit, it's a lot better than I thought.

Fungal growth stopping blink seems like a no-brainer that should always have been the case, but the others seem weird to me, especially the supply depot requirement for a barracks.

I'm also extremely surprised that Blizz would make balance changes based on the team metagame.

I guess WC3 would be the relevant comparison and I don't know much about what happened there, but I always thought that their balancing was pretty much entirely focused on 1v1.

Roach is now gonna be used 110% of games against protoss. Its prolly gonna end up with mass immortal against mass roach.

I like the direction they're taking with the next patch and they finally revealed the race vs race data! Barrack requiring a supply depot is pretty dumb, it limits so many options.

Reaper is now never ever going to be used except for building 1 to camp watch towers etc

But that's the design flaw of the unit.

This is such a good patch for zerg, I might actually start playing again

Tough i do agree with what Day9 said about Reapers, why the hell are they even in the game?

This will just nerf them into uselessness, but that is the role of the Reaper, either it will be super OP or absolutely horrible, the design of the unit has no leeway to be anything more than that which sucks.

Put the Firebat back in instead, hey ill make 1 at least each game just to listen to that sexy voice!

Reapers will finally be 100% gimmick and not viable anymore, I hope Blizzard makes a complete revision of this unit and gives it spider mines and make it from starports only, as its really a flying unit moreso than a walking unit.

It would make any TvX matchup so much more dynamic imo

Wow a roach range increase. This is huge! I don't think speed reapers are really a big deal anymore but I guess it's nice that 5RR won't really be viable anymore, especially factoring in the roach range as well. I'm assuming roach range will be 4?

Keep in mind that they said these are just a few of the changes they are planning on. There will be more.

The reaper change is a teamgame issue btw, I doubt they changed it because of 1v1. I also doubt it will have any use in 1v1 anymore besides some scouting or xel'naga towering on maps like kulas.
