"I will definitely change to StarCraft II when I feel that StarCraft 2 is having a higher status then StarCraft: Broodwar."
In other words, he is going to change to StarCraft II. WHEN he changes over will be determined by how fast SC2 grows and how fast SC:BW weakens. If the process is fast, he will switch fast. If it is slow, then he will remain in SC:BW longer. There isn't a 'neutral stance' though... He IS going to switch.

I have an embarrassing mancrush on JD...my dream would be him destroying flash next season in PL/OSL/MSL and then moving on to SC2.
|
Why not play both, Jaedong? =P

Gives warm fuzzy feeling. Will have to feel sorry towards his competitors though, since JD should be winning all leagues from the point he starts playing on. Until Flash starts SC2 that is

And the death for bw.

notice how he says it could be today, tomorrow, or in a couple years usually when people make statements like this, they're exaggerating the uncertainty of when they will do whatever it is being discussed (in this case switching to sc2) and as such, they go for extremes. the extreme early was 'today/tomorrow' the extreme late was 'a couple years' meaning we could reasonably see him switch in a year or so. bw is dying faster than i thought lets hope im wrong about this.
edit: but when he does switch maybe sc2 will be worth watching :D not to be a flaming douchebag but i really havent seen anything very interesting other than some of TLO's crazy shit, and boxer's games. Nada's were pretty boring but its fucking nada so it was cool to watch anyways. anyways hopefully jaedong will destroy everyone in two thousa-i mean sc2 :o

That's horrible, world's best muta micro put to waste.

"05 October 2010" It's from the exact same interview that started this whole thread. Jaedong is on a recently signed contract with Hwaseung Oz. I'm not exactly sure when that expires, but I can asure you that he will not be switching before that.

Sc2 would be a waste of his talents lol. He spent years working on his muta micro, learning how to simultaneously attack with like 10 groups of zerglings while still having hatchery hotkeys, perfecting his defiler control, and macroing like a beast, all at over 400 apm. Now it's like mutas are nothing but point and click, you can effectively manage an entire army on 3 control groups, you have perfect larva usage with 1 hotkey, and your infestors are merely point and click -_-

I wonder what his stance is on this almost a year later and with MBC game dying, along with Oz. Would be interesting to hear, if anyone has an update please post!

im sure he will switch over soon enough, especially considering he isnt playing as well as he was a while back in BW. If he keeps slumping and the scene keeps declining its only a matter of time.
|
I would love to see jaedong come to starcraft 2, but I feel like he would've "failed" at ever coming out of his slump. I would love to see him play at his best at bw again.

Is he not so good now because he has been practicing SC2?
