Indeed. The newest games (Arkham Asylum, BORDERLANDS especially) can use more than 2gb of RAM. Playing Borderlands the other day i minimized and realized i was using 2.6 gigs.

The 4350 is literally the WORST video card you can own. You should definitely upgrade your graphics, something like a 4670 should be fine, but i would recommend something in the new 5xxx series (5750, 5770) just because of DX11 compatability.

only video card and it will be fine? tnx how much is ati 5770?
|
Newegg seems to show as low as 165. Well, at least that doesn't seem as hard pressed by demand as the 5850 is heh.

for games all you need is roughly 3.2-3.4gigs because 32 bit games even on a 64bit system still are limited to the 32bit memory allocation so games will never be purposely designed to be more then about 2.5gigs.
4gigs is all you really need for games unless you run a shit ton programs at once while gaming at least until 64bit native games come out.

yeah, but they're different !_!
Yeah, I guess if you wanted to run a bunch of programs in the background (why?) you would need a bit more, but task manager is just 3 buttons away!

Why a 800W PSU ????? Why a GTS 250 ?
>.<
Take one of those Corsair HX520W/HX620W/HX650W (modular ) or a HX550W/HX650W ( non modular ). http://www.corsair.com/products/power_supplies.aspx
Also 5770 / 4890 ( take > 550W PSU if you pick the 4890 ) >>> GTS 250

im planning on running two video cards shortly down the line, how much powersupply do i need for that?

It depends on the video card. An ATI 5770 would require a lot less power compared to a Nvidia GTX295. I think a safe bet would be a 700-800watt good quality power supply. Don't cheap out on the power supply.

Nice system. I have the same motherboard as you, no problems with it at all. I'm running it with an i5 cpu. You dont need a 800watt power supply for that system.
You could probably improve on the motherboard and the graphics card. It might be better getting a UD4 or a UD5 motherboard but to be honest I don't think you would get much of a performance increase (I could be wrong). The 250 is a good mid end graphics card, but again you might look at a 260/275 or an ATI4870/4890 for more performance.

Like everyone said before me, the performance of the gts250 just isn't that amazing. I would recommend waiting a few months for the 5830 though, considering the 5770 is pretty much only slightly better performance wise than the 4870.

a lot of people say windows 7.. but I thought windows 7 cannot run StarCraft? I got new computer just now, but no operating system yet, I dont know what to put.. Maybe just cracked version of win xp 64bit.. i would buy win7 if it was starcraft compatible.

Your hard drive will probably last you a couple months.

I am a WD man myself, but what's so bad about Hitachi? Their laptop drives are excellent far as I can recall.
