Some more of the best storytelling, and I love how the urgency and unsettling feel of the beat goes right with the white-knuckle, twisty thriller movie feel of the story and being drawn into such a treacherous plot.
The contemplative; this one always has fascinated me cause it's sort of unorthodox and alienating (produced by Chris Webber the basketball player) but it's made me look up all the people's stories mentioned that I didn't know and I love it:
Man I love writing about Nas songs, heh. They almost always have so much richness to them.
Here is a list of old school rappers/groups that I listen too :
Eric.B and Rakim Gangstarr Notorious B.I.G Wu-tang Nas
My favorite kind of hip-hop is the combination of catchy beat (preemo is my favorite overall artist) and clever lyrics (Nas - Illmatic es #1). I like rapper's with good flow which (imo) compensate for the poor (see: not the best) lyrics, like biggie. I also like "monotone" styles like guru's one.
Any one got some recommendation I should pursue based on my tastes?

I dunno if you are talking about wanting more older school stuff or newer stuff, but here's a few older if you don't know them: Jeru the Damaja (first two albums wholly produced by dj premier so you might know them already, The Sun Rises in the East is especially good) Scarface AZ (Doe or Die is such a classic) Big L
