So the new raid Emerald Nightmare will be the first one right? Then its gonna be like 2 weeks until that opens on Normal/Heroic then we have a what how long until the next one is release? Then you assume the same gap before 7.1 launches.

So; September 21st Emerald Nightmare release
November 20 something next raid?
January 2017 end for 7.1?

I guess that isn't to bad of a break and i wouldn't mind that kind of gap.

Dates have not yet been made known I think so its all speculation at this point but 2-4 weeks after release Emerald Nightmare opens up together with Mythic+ Dungeons ('normal' mythic will be open from day 1). then after X time Nighthold raid will open.
All we know the gap will be bigger then with HM>BRF and that one was 2 months.

However, there is now talk that Karazan will be released in between Emerald Nightmare and Nighthold so I don't how it is all going to work out Oo

Ahh would make a bit more sense that though if they wanted gap bigger though. Make it a 4 month gap between raids and add in a 7.1 new dungeon / content with still doing things like Mythic plus dungeons and farming Emerald Nightmare i would be happy with that.

But to be fair i did not mind what they were doing in the start of WoD, it wasn't until after BRF that i became bored

The problem was that BRF completely invalidated HM (because of ilvl difference) and many guilds were still busy progressing in HM, so they dropped that and just went BRF instead.

Blizzard patched BRF some resets after it went live and increased the ilvl of all of the gear with the explicit goal of making BRF stuff clearly better than highmaul stuff (rather than just unlocking tier sets etc)

Yeah BRF was first tier gear after all was always going to be better anyway, but like you said they wanted the gap to be bigger so people finished Highmaul.

It's a pretty different way of approaching raiding - at the cataclysm launch when they first split into two raids, they launched them simultaneously as one tier with the same level of gear

This WOD and Legion approach seems like the first raid is a half tier to be thrown away when the second half is released since it'll be some months later with better high end gear and better gear at any given skill/effort level

Yeah would be much easier if they did the Cata approach when BoT and BlackRock...something was released and Tier gear was split up that would be a good idea to do this time around. Then you can keep that going from September > January before 7.1 patch then can add in a next raid after that.

Who knows time to sit back and see what Blizzard new fast pace amazing content going to be like xD

Highmaul through HFC was ~6 months, you can easily have a launch tier (with ~15 bosses) last that long or even longer if there's a solid follow-up

Yeah I preferred the split raid with same ilvl released at the same time we had in Wotlk and Cata. sadly Blizzard is going a different route.

Has alot of pros for the modern day raider too. Say if it was 2x 7 boss raids, you might get stuck on 3rd boss in the 1 raid but with the added 2nd raid you might be able to kill 4 of those bosses which means every week you have 7 bosses you can "farm" and then progress on the others. Thus making the raiders feel like they are having more fun by killing more bosses.

Oh well, maybe one day we can run blizzard for them :d

Well let's be honest, we know Emerald Nightmare is going to be utterly worthless because it's the same ilvl as Mythic+10 and the Mythic+10 gear can still get titanforged AND is BiS for many classes AND can drop legendaries unlike raids. It's only going to be worth clearing for filling out slots between Mythic+ runs, and as practice for Nighthold that actually drops tier gear.

I really dont like this titanforged stuff btw. Way too much RNG. Getting 60 item levels more than the dungeon normally drops or mythic raid gear from a normal quest is just ridiculous. If they so desperately want lower difficulty content to give high end rewards (which I dont agree with either) they could have at least made a system where some currency drops you can then upgrade your stuff with, so that it is consistent and not RNG.

Yeah nothing wrong with say standard drops from the difficulties but you add in valor again and that is used solely to upgrade any piece of gear up 5ilvl at a time to a max of +20ilvl with the same cost as it does now. Sorted, the people who want better gear but want to theoretically do less challenging stuff have their incentive and even those at high end can still get the big boy rewards and even upgrade their gear.

Yes 20 item levels at least sounds somewhat reasonable but 60? Wat?

Btw this system also makes it more of a hassle to equip a second spec because even if your first spec is already well equipped you still need to chose dungeon loot for the first spec hoping for the small chance of mythic raid level loot.
