Assassination is really dependent on traits/talents. I use vanish on CD because I have shrouded suffocation which makes my empowered garrotes chunk real hard. Some people hold for an extra 10-15 seconds to line up as an opener for their second vendetta. As for Outlaw I honestly haven't played much of that spec since I finished leveling (played it exclusively from 1-120 though) so I'm not quite sure about the current vanish meta. I think you just use it on cd for ambush tbh. | ||

Blizzard slows for 1.5 second, down from 15 seconds Frostbolt slows for 8 seconds, down from 15 Frozen orb slows by 30% for 3 seconds, down from 50% for 15 seconds. They also changed the last azerite unlock on gear, the +5 ilvls, to also increase the power of every other selected trait on the gear. They seem to have clarified some tooltips and moved some skills from higher level unlocks to being available at level 1 as well. They nerfed a couple of horde racials, rebalanced a few abilities slightly e.g. 10% damage nerf to uberfrostdragon and 15% nerf to eyebeam's base damage. Atonement on disco priest went from being a 15 second buff to 50 seconds, that's enormous but i'm not completely up to date on how the spec plays at the moment and the other 8.1 changes. AFAIK they wouldn't make that kind of change without a lot more stuff to go along with it, you spend a ton of globals applying and reapplying atonements constantly. | ||

On top of those nerfs they got a 1.18x global damage nerf (112/95 = 1.179x, not 1.17x) so there are probably a set of half implemented changes, they don't make sense on their own. | ||

It's not because they fill the same niche with similar spells that they should do that... It's frustrating how much biais there is currently at Blizzard regarding the Havoc / windwalker duo. | ||

This is kinda dumb, I dont know how it relates to Havoc, but im already middle of the pack and not perceived as useful as Havoc/Rogue, kinda annoyed. Eyebeam was kind a broken especially with all the other DH benefits, but Im not sure what this nerf is supposed to address. edit: yeah FoF was nerfed like eye beam but it says WW had all its abilities changed from -23% damage to -21% damage so at least there's compensation there. looks like DH got a straight nerf | ||
