It's not as braindead as "barbed, animalbite, cobracobra animalbite" though by the looks. Most likely going to end up playing survival in the end, since BM doesn't seem to have a decent cleave either (on low level at least, no idea later down the line). | ||

Thanks for all the weak auras recommendations, guys! This is really helpful and allows me to better manage my cool downs. I think I may still be missing some fundamental quality of DH tanking, though. My general philosophy in m+ is: - use spikes+shield right before engaging - fracture, immolation, fracture - spirit bomb - fracture, fracture - spam soul cleave - use fiery whatever for shield + damage reduction on thicc mobs - keep using spikes + shield on cool down But it really seems like I am a lot squishier than I should be. At the end of the day, I am just getting really low HP throughout fights. At least compared to blood DKs. DK/Monks seem invincible compared to me. Generally AFAIK pop demon spikes 1-2x when pulling a new pack, spam spirit bombs and then kite for a bit while it's down. You avoid most damage if you're not in melee range. Having a frost mage makes it much easier too! The sigil azerite power is really good for control since it reduces the CD of all sigils by so much (-2s every 10s just from infernal strike) use spikes+shield right before engaging If you're talking about Soul Barrier you're supposed to use it with 4-5 souls. LR is popular too, give it a try. It sounds like you're soul cleaving too much, people use fracture+immo to get souls for spirit bombs and then they use soul cleave on spare globals afterwards when the soul cleave won't eat any souls. For pure mitigation you can run a build without spirit bomb AFAIK but that's not done in a dungeon context. | ||

Soul Cleave costs pain, heals you for X and absorbs souls. It doesn't require souls and it doesn't benefit from them being out. Either way you're consuming the souls which provides most of the healing - the instant heal from the soul cleave spell itself is small. Consuming a Lesser Soul Fragment heals you for 8% of all damage taken in the last 5 sec, minimum 1% of maximum health. You can spirit bomb and soul cleave but you can't soul cleave and spirit bomb so usually people are not spending fragments by walking over them or with soul cleave, they're trying to spirit bomb with them. I'm not sure of the details for full defensive play. In this case you need the threat from a quick handful of spirit bombs so that you can kite for half of the fight without losing aggro, not taking the damage is far more effective than trying to bruteforce heal through it since we don't have nearly the power of a BDK for doing that. | ||

I think it might be counting boss kills since launch and letting you catchup. So if you skipped a week and killed extra the week after to cover for the missed week you get caught up. | ||

I did some emissaries recently and never saw this. And yeah emissaries have always been bad, which I was totally happy with. You should not get high rewards for doing those brainless chores. | ||

Well they changed it last week to scale with your ilvl because so many high ilvl people were complaining about their emissaries being 340 still, although they really messed up and made the threshold a bit too high so only people at or near 370 were actually getting 370 rewards (same with 355 caches). I thought they would change it to 365 at the least, but I guess they went even lower. | ||
