Right now the biggest complaint I hear and agree with is Azerite traits being a fairly poor system.

I could also argue that Island expeditions are pretty underwhelming and that the Warfront turn around time is about twice as long as it should be.

Past that I feel like the majority of content in this expansion is pretty good. I like all the new zones, the story is pretty good, class balance feels normal, instances all feel good, crafting is a touch underwhelming but only just. I couldn't care less about PvP. Overall I've been enjoying running around doing stuff on my two toons.
I can take that responsibility.

I think rep tokens are useful to the people who haven't been super proactive at farming rep. Like if you're the type of person who has done very major questchain for rep, as well as every single wq, then it wont be as useful. But those people are going to be in the minority.

I don't think its anywhere near as bad as people on reddit are making it out to be. Azerite system probably being the worst thing. Traits are boring and unrewarding, and high ilvl pieces not have certain traits making them useless feels really bad, and having to farm so much more AP for boring traits is especailly bad.

Warfronts, are as you said 2x the turnaround as they should be. I'd have added more pvp activities to do in Arathi in the world for war mode.

Isle expeditions are way overblown, they clearly weren't designed to be procedural content that you farm nonstop like a Diablo game. People are just overfarming it because they give the best AP rewards. They do feel unrewarding to do, though.

I like this expansion, but there are very big glaring issues I hope they resolve. Azerite needs a redesign pronto.

Edit: Also azerite gear not dropping from mythic+ is just moronic. plz hotfix that.

Missions are underwhelming. Once you unlock flight paths and get your revered, there's little point in running missions for rep. Up until you hit revered CoA, the missions are longer and needs of followers so diverse that it's hard nailing a good rep progression for necklace.

War campaign rep grind/mission grind is confusing and too staggered. The immersion invites players to cheer on their faction as they take ground and gain victories, then it presents players with a big Stop Sign in rep. After the thrill of victory, you're not valuable enough to proceed (you're not leet enough for molten core//you don't have enough social credit to participate).

You get a major gear upgrade with more mainstat, but wrong azerite traits. Your neckpiece isn't high enough to unlock it fully yet. Store it in your bank in case the azerite trait is buffed or others are nerfed.

Those are my specifics. The "general" feeling for me is the game is wonderful for casual participation and these are all minor gripes. Zone leveling felt great. Beginner dungeons felt great. Mythic+ just challenging enough. Normal Uldir is well tuned for casuals.

My biggest gripe is the Azerite gear, I can complain about MM hunter class design but there are multiple classes like that, moreover I really dislike the necklace ting, doing a WQ to get about 1/00 (figure of) to get a few ilevel upgrade (in Legion you got another trait which "felt" better) is pretty bad.

I like some of the story and the zones and the music, suprisingly I like Uldir but to be fair I think that will get boring real quick. Missions are terrible but its such a small part that I don't really care that much.

oh and the game feels alt unfriendly.

I would say just in general. I feel for the mythic guys who are literally doing blizz's testing right now. Fetid has gotten 2 major nerfs in the past 2 days because he was just tuned too highly, even in higher heroic gear. It just shows how little Blizz actually tested this (or used data from the testing on beta). Even in beta testing we were able to get the boss to ~60% after a couple rounds of adds and it felt reasonable, even though really tough (raid test ilvl was 375 I think). That tuning wasn't what hit live and why we are seeing now 2 different nerfs to the boss in the first few days.

Mostly just the sheer volume of bugs and lack of polish. Azerite seems like it could be a cool system with several more iterations of refinement but right now it's worse than just deleting tier + artifacts + legendaries with nothing but number tweaks and maybe an extra talent row to replace them IMO. The main gameplay change that azerite does for me is highly prioritizing Fel Rush on many targets in fortified dungeon gear; that could easily be accomplished with a talent row. We already have a talent (and had a legendary) which specifically increased Fel Rush damage.

It's difficult to make a list on the spot but every day there are some odd things that probably shouldn't have made it through beta and wouldn't have if it wasn't rushed.

A world quest here and there which isn't tagged for its faction emissary somehow, warfronts breaking LFG (dungeons, islands, pvp, scenarios required to continue zone progress) for half the day, off hand weapons titanforging, azerite pieces dropping from pvp cache at the wrong ilevel and with no traits on the gear (just says 0/0 azerite selected). Previous Legion M+ completion giving 380+ gear on the first week of BFA M+.

Traits/talents being useless for the entire alpha/beta, buffed by 4x on the week before launch and then nerfed to half damage 2 weeks into launch, that sort of thing. There have been a ton posted on r/wow, much of which i've experienced myself or heard of from direct friends.

Some stuff we simply weren't given the time or the tools to test, a lot more had mountains of test feedback thrown in the trash because wasn't enough staff and time to deal with it. Given that kind of situation, a game dev with a priority on quality would have been seriously asking if it was okay to delay the game launch; instead they brought it forwards. The only way that i can adequately explain that to myself is that higher ups (higher than Ion because he cares about the game and isn't that stupid) pushed short term profit over polish

I'm expecting mid BFA to be a lot stronger than WOD but there is no shortage of reasons for subs to drop off far faster than legion in the first 2-4 quarters of the expansion

Yea I agree with this a lot. For some reason I have high hopes for the next patch bringing in a fair bit of content (something along the lines of Suramar into new raid/dungeons). And besides Azerite I think most of the games issues atm can be easily smoothed out down the road. Azerite is something that almost needs a complete redesign though.



Someone brought up some stuff with the War Campaign, but I kinda disagree. I feel like they set that up to be spread out so it felt relevant past leveling and made it mandatory but not so long as to detract from whatever leveling experience you had on your own leveling. The rep gate is mildly annoying but it is the easiest rep to grind due to it being frequent with missions, 3 times the WQs, and the reward for island expeditions. There is also a ton of quests that open up once you have everything unlocked in a zone and those reward a decent bit of rep as well.

I can take that responsibility.

Yeah, seconded. Granted thats probably not saying much. I'm confident they'll fix a lot of this stuff in 8.1. Need a second warfront asap as well as fixes. Not sure how long it'll take to redesign azerite though. Just a lot of growing pains with how fast this expansion was released.

Anyway its a wipe. SO i reconnect again. I see my corpse for a split second. Game disconnects. I restart client, log into other characters etc etc. Same deal.

Finally Im like, kick me from the raid. Wallah.. I can login and release and got inv back.

I mean wtf...

Swapping from arms to fury leads to much more enjoyment and a lot more dps too which is nice. managed one 98% parse tonight for overall on heroic too

Arms is the superior spec for uldir but i'm playing fury too because it's more fun

On wednesday a guy on reddit posted that when you drink a sea mist potion and use ai li skymirror on yourself you become invisible (also worked with prism on another party member). Today its fixed. But major game breaking bugs stay in for weeks and months. Gj blizzard.

Sometimes that happens when your character model somehow gets to somewhere it shouldn't be. Happened to my rogue in Legion. I shadowstep'd a crocodile and the angle transported me under the floor and caused my game to constantly crash. What you normally have to do is create new cache, ui, wtf folders and rename your old folders to OldCache, etc to get your character unstuck and able to login. Your's was fixed from a raid kick because the raid kick itself transported your character out of where it wasn't supposed to be.
What do you mean Immortals can't shoot up?

And Zul dead in 19 pulls. That feels super disappointing to see a fight that should have been pretty tough die so quickly.

But hey thats what class stacking and likely an undertuned fight will do to you.
