Your argument really comes down to social psychology i believe which is a clusterfuck but a critically important part of multiplayer game development. Psychology in general is huge for game dev. Any one player can't exert much influence over the way that people socially interact across a global MMO with a 7 figure playerbase.
Yes, technically the experience would be different if everybody treated it differently but that doesn't ultimately affect the game if they don't choose to do so.. and they didn't, or we wouldn't be having this conversation. There wasn't a big blue button that Bob could push to make everybody on his region+faction reconsider how they played the game; the choice for the individual is if you go with the community or against them. It's an uphill battle to go against the community even if your approach is more "correct".
Another social psychology problem; easily fixed by doubling down on personal loot design, just handing an appropriate amount of loot to people with no opportunity to trade it IMO. That means more loot than right now and i think that'd work fine.
If we're not allowing guild masters to assign loot to any character at will (plenty of arguments for that and against it) then that's the best alternate option IMO, no half measures like we currently have.
This is a quite frankly hilarious edge case but these kinds of loot disputes have been going on ever since the changes were announced. I think it should be shut down hard and fast, whichever way it goes.

Hahaahah that's an easy one question in that thread. Find a less shit guild. I guess wanne be tryhards will always find a way to be terrible.

wow is not a grindy mmo anymore
Legion is THE most grindy expansion/era for WoW ever.

Thats ok, you can believe that as much as you want
Im so conflicted on whether I should play BFA or not.
I only seriously played in vanilla to wrath. Dabbed a little in cata and mist but never got attached to it outside of my free weekend game time thingy. But Legion seriously won me over. That shit was magnificent in terms of solo playing and raid playing. I exclusively play a war tank and it was just awesome doing M+ and being a MT in a casual raiding guild. It was only till mid-november that I started to get bored and quit.
Now that BFA is around the corner (i did almost no research except watching a few streams), im wondering if itll be like another mist or cata for me, or is it gonna be another hit like Legion.
I also have half a mind to just stay the course and not play till Classic comes out.

Any input, fam? Very much appreciated.
If you really liked M+, there's going to be plenty more of that. Casual raiding too.
So I guess it just comes down to how much you like the dungeons and raids.

Ill give it the standard blizz approach, opening + first raid tier maybe the 2nd will be good. then the game will go down hill, about like usual

having played every expansion, id say legion was by far the most grindy expansion. besides vanilla maybe

There was nothing wrong with any tier in the last addons. Are you trying to impose by having such high quality standards?
The problem I had with waiting for subsequent raiding content was that we were supposed to do mythic in the mean time, it was either that or farm Heroic. Trying to do Mythic was another beast, the difficulty curve gets extremely steep and required lots of hours from from a dedicated 10-15 players. That was something a lot of us were not ready to commit, which is why we just stopped playing.
From my perspective itd be nice if Blizz just released raid content quicker. Ofc I recognize that hardcore Mythic raiders will object to this. Just my 2 cents though.

I played the first tier solo because I started late. Played in a 150-200 rank 3 day raiding guild for 2 tiers. But then even that 3 day raiding was tiring for me with my work/life etc so I decided Im done with that.
But running high keys was fun and I didnt really spam them either. If it works out for you, its easy to manage M+ so it stays fun without being grindy (some people enjoy spamming M+ and thats fine too)
For me when I was off raiding, IJust push one key with some guild alts + Show Spoiler +
(which to be fair is alot more convenient for me, because my guild had alot of active cores that play alot of characters at high progression levels so getting grps is pretty easy)
and on a personally level all really need is some hc raid tier gear and high m+ pieces to push keys to enough of a level for it to be challenging and fun.
There can be enough things to do between tiers if you want to do those things. The issue is that people dont want to do them. And thats fine but then its not the game for you. So you can just turn of your sub or stop using your tokens till then and come back later. The game does allow you to do that quite freely now with little punishment since character progress for a large part resets every tier.
Legion had its flaws but it did enough for me to be willing to play a game casually that I never thought was imaginable given my history with it when I was playing in my teens and early twenties.
Sylvanas tries to kill hope by burning Teldrassil, after showing her backstory to a nightelf.
The morally grey comment will haunt this entire expansion. Had low expectation for blizzard, but for now they clearly show horde under Sylvanas = evil and Anduin's alliance = good guys.
yep, utterly disappointing. Sylvanas 100% evil Garrosh 2.0 She will be a raid boss before this expansion is over and any hope of an interesting story between 2 sides is gone
Yeah I mean I won't pretend to know the entire history of the lore down to every finite detail, but she and the Forsaken always seemed like they had their own interests in mind, almost like a third party just playing along with the Horde for convenience/advantage instead of being truly aligned. Which made them more interesting to me. But this is very one note. No ulterior motives, no cunning. Zzzzzz. Oh well.
Also yeah as below poster said, is there any dissent among the other big Horde characters? If Sylvanas was bloodthirsty crazy or whatever like Garrosh wouldn't she be doing her own thing and we'd have someone in the background like Baine or Saurfang or something just glancing sideways and loosening their collar nervously. Maybe that'll happen in the actual game not just these shorts idk. Still lame lol.
I fucking hate the story of BFA so much so far Why is anyone that's not forsaken following sylvanas again? Where's the rebellion like with garrosh? She wants to kill life itself, she's openly an enemy to the other members of the horde but we're still somehow following her?
People were hyping up the writers blizzard had hired but they're pretty fucking awful it seems.
