Instead Monks delay 40 or more (usually more) % of dmg taken and turn it into a 10 second dot. This gives them a much smoother damage intake then other tanks but overall higher damage taken. | ||

We actually if played very well, can and will take less damage than many other tanks. Our stagger turns direct damage and turns it into a 10 seconds dot. Our active mitigation spell is called Ironskin Brew, which gives us +40% stagger intake (so instead of staggering 40% base, we now stagger 80% of the incoming damage) for 6+ seconds (this can be boosted with artifact/relics). So with no talents, on every physical hit I only take 20% up front damage, and the 80% is put into a dot that does damage over 10 seconds. Now this doesn't mitigate any damage but instead just delays all that damage. We have Purifying Brew (which shares charges/cool down with Ironskin Brew) that will remove 50% of our current stagger damage. This allows us to smooth a lot of damage, or take huge spike boss damage and then just remove a huge chunk of that damage instantly. Combine this with a lot of other artifact boosts, we can mitigate a lot of damage. Our breath of fire will reduce damage from mobs taken, black out strike reduces damage taken, our mastery gives us inflated dodge chance to just not get hit at all. https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20752296392?page=4#post-73 There is a good post comparing 2 top tank parses in the world. One BrM and one Guardian on M Ursoc. In the highest skill played BrM can turn into unkillable beasts. But we have a downside in that its really easy to play the spec wrong, and as such, you can also play BrM terribly and just take tons of damage. I like how they play, I don't think I would play any other tank after getting used to how BrM plays and how much I enjoy them. | ||

I've had a surprising amount of success with 1tank 4dps and 2tank 3dps, just not for level 12-15 dungeons. Have 4-manned 7+3 with a boost guy and no healer, etc. Legion doesn't feel much different to WOD in that regard, IMO. In dungeons for several classes it seems like most tank healing comes from the tank themselves with healers babysitting the avoidable damage taken by DPSers and doing DPS in their spare time. A Prot pally can even cover that role too, i've been in a few situations where a boss would not have been killable if we had a different tank which could not throw some heals on DPSers mid-fight. --------------------- http://i.imgur.com/PuQjXr8.mp4 Well, fuck. Amidst even other things that Blizzard seemed to overlook and now another thing people will go on to complain about. Seems this is just a one case exception rather than a large group of people getting this. edit: Random question for ui savvy people. I am trying to update my ui currently and am having trouble getting something to work. It might just not be something that elv ui can even do, but figured I would ask. I have a good set up for party frames + Show Spoiler + ![]() ![]() I want to change it so its more like this + Show Spoiler + ![]() The issue I am running into is that I want it to change when I join a raid automatically. I don't know if this is possible. If this isn't, I could make 2 Elv ui profiles and switch between them, but I suppose would there be a macro I could use to load between them and just put them on a bar to switch easier than having to /ec and go to profiles to change it every time. | ||
