In any case, it is possible to be "Hardcore" in terms of progression and not invest too much time in WoW, although it depends a bit on your definition of hardcore. Me and my friends for example, we aren't young any more, most of us have full time jobs now really hindering us from raiding. My friends have joined a guild that cleared Xavius heroic 2 weeks ago, I didn't even bother joining a raid guild since I don't have time. What we can do however is do Mythic + dungeons. We started humbly pushing +4 difficulties, then we progressed into +6 and 7, and today for the first time we cleared +8 within the time limit. We often wipe for when pushing next tier, but that doesn't discourage us given that a +9 cleared, even if late, can still award a good item and a chance for a good item in the chest at reset. If your definition of hardcore is to push your character to its limits and get the best gear possible, then you can accomplish that through Mythic + as well (and I can say from experience that you can't ignore dungeon mechanics in the later difficulty ranges). If your definition of hardcore is to beat the latest raid content on the highest difficulty then I can see how that can become a problem. Still, if you are dedicated to improving your char like I am, then you can eventually do Mythic raids, but you should manage your expectations. You won't wipe 5 hours a night for 5 days straight until after 2 weeks you get the kill, you'll probably wipe 4 hours per night, 2 days a week for 1 month and a half until you get the kill, but you can get it. Also, I fucking love Karazhan, it was a awesome mix of nostalgia and actual fresh new design and mechanics. I love that it wasn't just a 5 man retuning, but an actual functional redesign. The only thing I am sorry about is that it felt kind of easy for me and my friends at 865+ gear level. We only wiped seriously at 3-4 bosses until we figured out the mechanics (no video watching) and we 1 shotted the majority. Hoping Nightbane can give us at least 30 or so wipes. | ||

Personally i had like a 90/10 split between raids and dungeons in WOD which flipped hard to like 20% raids, 80% dungeons for the first 2 months of Legion with insane playing hours (heading back towards 50/50 now) | ||

Also, aoe abilities pulling mobs up/downstairs from where you are is always a joy. Opera area especially. | ||
