The Electronic Sports League recently announced the first major of the year will take place March 12-15, 2015 alongside the Intel® ESL Expo in Katowice, Poland. The road to Katowice however is not an easy one, as there is a plethora of qualifiers to get through to be able to have a shot at the $250,000 at the end of the road. For the first time ever, the qualifiers will have a two step process (online and later offline) ensuring that the best and fairest eight teams advance to the main tournament!

Also no CLG, unless they're getting invited too. Poor TL, gotta go through the terror qualifiers.

What's with Cobble and Overpass still being used instead of the new maps like Season and (the remade) Train?

long story short: because Valve says so.

I think Valve have the final say in what maps to use because they sponsor it? At least that's the explanation I hear the most for why cobble is ever played
edit: thats what I get for not refreshing the page

Duuuuumb.
Why not at least have the awesome new Train replace the universally-hated Cobble?
"If you get used to it, you'll like it" is a super theory from Valve.

because if that happened, then all the other problems with CS:GO would also get fixed and then half life 3 would be released so that's a nono

Is it subscriber-only or something?

Can't find a stream. Apparently there are like 400 teams or something... I think they're just playing their matches and that's that?
