MAL presents: The Beginning is an online tournament organized by MAL, aka James the Translator from WCS 2013 S3 Finals, 2014’s S2 and S3, all circuits of Red Bull Battle Grounds, and IEM Toronto, and sponsored by DSP-Design and 2LD.
With the end of Starcraft 2014 season, MAL, interested in pursuing in content-creating opportunities, has recently gone active online with his first bi-weekly event called, MAxeLtoss. This time, with the help of ROOT.Hydra and DSP-Design, MAL presents a new twist to online tournament scene.
Online tournament sometimes lacks the live atmosphere. It also has difficulty reaching out to the players to hear their thoughts. The tournament will feature all players’ webcams and microphones to see reactions in the midst of a battle and to hear more from the players during the map vetoes and pre/post game interviews.
Have you ever wondered if a player is close with his/her opponent? Were you ever curious why map vetoes happened in the fashion that it did? Have you cursed or screamed out of joy in middle of a game and wondered if the players did too? This is the tournament that will educate you on all your wonders, or at least attempt to.

actually group A is tmrw 9pm PST. so NA u win. and also other days its on weekends and at 7am PST. so aint too bad i think?

This is the fucking best! But you should probably have some people help you out with the production, if you haven't hosted your own event before. I really want you to succeed, but don't be afraid to ask around for help.

This sounds amazing! I'd love to tune in. Hearing from the players is one of the best parts of a tournament I think, which I why I enjoy HSC so much.

They said they were happy to hear about it and then "Wait, is Mal doing this all by himself? He's a good caster, and I was glad to have him, but does he know how much work goes on behind the scenes to organize one's own tournament?" and then some other stuff that I don't remember very well. Hopefully it will show up on the VOD and you can hear for yourself. You can probably just ask them yourself though. I'll bet they'd tell you.
