so... can you bot up, say, 10K extra viewers, then play constant commercials to reap in the cash? or do the fake viewers not register as hits for the ads somehow?

if you can actually make a lot of money by inflating viewer counts and then playing commercials, seems like twitch should care more

The bots don't generate ad revenue, but the potential hundreds of people who see a stream with 10k viewers and check out why it's so popular will indeed generate ad revenue. People who wouldn't have otherwise gone to that stream without the botted viewer level.

I guess twitch doesn't care as long as they get their cut.

Revealed: NL_Kripparrian has been a fraud all this time. His parents are actually Bulgarian.

But yeah, there's a couple of streamers that I've always been a bit confused as to how they bring so many viewers. There's even a "featured" streamer here who brings such thoughts. Though, that's probably just the cynic in me.

Im more concerned why Twitch took so long to take action.

Ive had past experiences in Twitch where other streamers would stream anime then instantly get banned an hour later.
