Just report this case to Twitch, I'm pretty sure they will just ban him. We need to give attention if we can ban him. There are 2 reddit thread about him right now. It's pretty obvious and obnoxious right now! On February 11 2014 06:39 Ovid wrote: Never heard of the guy. Instead of starting at 20 viewers he starts at 2000. It if someone was waiting in line of a new product at a store and he walked up to the front not waiting in line for 100 hours. 2) He steals viewers from other viewers. The way twitch works, whoever is 1-2-3 people will click on those streams before any. They like to see what attracts so many viewers 3) Its cheating?
Does he get more money from ads or something?

No he doesnt get ads $ from what I know, but hes gaining popularity but faking his popularity so if not caught in the long run he will be making ad $. I dont understand why this is hard for you to understand...

Also I can't speak for the rest of the rest of the watchers on Twitch, but if someone's content isn't great, I wouldn't continue to watch it regardless of how many other viewers that channel has.

No I am raising awareness. People already know he bots, now its up to twitch admins to get rid of him. Sooner or later.
I rather sooner.

Richard branson had a quote about no publicity being bad publicity.

Except his publicity was already coming from the fact that he had a massive amount of viewers on twitch, so I don't understand why people are calling out thetruthspreader for pointing out he is botting the viewers.

Viewer counts affects one more thing : It decides whether your stream is listed in the mobile twitch client or not. I've never even seen the Gullin15 dude before I saw him one night when I was streaming twitch on my phone, and his name appeared near to the top of the list (ahead of more deserving players IMO). I actually watched it for 5 minutes before I realized what a horrible player he was. But for newer players its harder to realize that, and they might continue watching his stream, thereby giving him undeserved viewers.

I've seen him at the top with that dumb push up stuff thing. I just saw that and couldn't take him seriously. Thanks for letting me know my inititial impression was correct.
|
Funny how had he gradually abused the view bot, bit by bit he might got a way with it and got alot of benefits. But 2k overnight ppl got suspicious :p
|
So does he do like, say, do one pushup for each win he gets during an arena run? Because from the sounds of his skill level, he's not getting much of a workout...

He's pretty bad lol. Watched him for a few minutes...

So if you are able to boost your viewer count from something like 10 to ~1500 or even 3000 you will more often than not be amongst the top5 or even top3 most viewed HS streams. People are WAY more likely to notice your stream then, giving him viewers for free even though he has done nothing for it except botting his viewcount. If people notice his stream then the idea is that they'll stay behind and keep watching right? And thereby he snatches viewers from other streamers, lowering their viewer count and taking some of their ad revenue money? Is that more or less why it's wrong?
As said somewhere already, it's more that he is gaining popularity without working for it. I don't know if he is making money from it just yet, but he certainly could at some point.
He is making himself look imporant/good even though he sucks. That's bad enough for me. T_T

Gotta watch this clown when his stream is still on the sidebar.

Out of curiosity, I just checked out his stream while he had 2k viewers. Clicked a bunch of the usernames in the user list, they all seemed to be legit Twitch channels. The chat was moving really fast, too. So if he was using a bot to boost his numbers, it seems he might not be anymore.

Who in their right mind (thinking of LH members) would keep watching a stream by a guy like that?
True, you might give him a try because he has got so many viewers apparantly, but you would just laugh and look for another stream as soon as you see him grossly missplay or spout nonsense.
Cheaters be cheatin, wont bring him any skill in HS or a good reputation in the community.

Well to be fair whether you donate or not is hardly down to his viewer count. It's purely your own choice.
|
I tuned into his stream once after Kripp stopped early when he was sick last week, simply because he had the 2nd most viewers (probably mostly bots). I couldn't stand to watch for more than a few minutes - he was an awful player, plus gross and obnoxious. Not sure he will thrive even with an artificially inflated view count, but I'll still report him and hope he gets banned. Stealing views from more deserving streamers is not cool.

I have noticed the guy, suddenly in the hearthstone game section, quite high up. Had more views then ellohime. But dunno if he is view botting. Hearthstone can make your viewbase skyrocket. Just look at every popular Hearthstone streamer. They didnt have those views when they were playing other games.
Anyways, I'm sure twitch keeps an eye on things like that.
