Please keep the QQ to a minimum if you do not like this update. We are happy to hear your reasoning for not liking a ranked system, but no "OMG VOLVO WHY" posts. |

What to take from your small sample size is that its exactly the same as regular mm. The same thing would happen if you played unranked. You get the same points whether you win or lose because the two teams are viewed as roughly equal in skill, thats how the rating system works. Playing 30 min stomps allows me to play for 4-5 hrs a day and then cry myself to sleep. You should stop playing if that is what is happening. I'm in a lowish MMR and I have fine games with reasonable people. I'm not sure what you are doing, but you can only control yourself.

Would be nice if the heroes who are currently auto-banned in CM are autobannned in all games types in ranked tbh =( Oh well, one day I will stop sucking vs earthspirit I guess

Man, about people ranting with Kaolin, I'm pretty sure keep practicing your positioning x__x The guy is OP, everyone agrees, so do I, but if you can spot him while he CAN'T spot you then just stay out of his range and wait until he lured himself in. BKB, because it works just like what it should be.

That doesn't work in dota2 engine because the rock is instantly grabbable and by the time the stun ends he could have rolled into you and punched you back into his team.
|
oh god its hilarious how bad people blame others for "tryharding" IN A FUCKING RANKED game....yeah why would people try so hard in ranked games hue hue hue

I understand, but is it that extremely hard just to predict his movement o_o

i was like you once. thinking earth spirit was fair game back in my day but after countless games of watching this boulder man roll across the map in seconds, grabbing allies in the middle of nowhere into his safe comfortable hands...

that last 5 words sound really wrong lol

Yea, what will happen is that unless you bkb before he puts his stone down, he will stun -> roll -> push you back, and even if you pop bkb between when his stun ends and he kicks you, you will still get knocked back far enough to most likely get raped by whoever he was ganking with, if they have anything that goes through bkb, or just enough damage to kill you!
It's really quite frustrating playing against that hero. I'd love to see some specific winrate statistics because I see him being extremely dominant in every 5k+ game.

Is there anyone with his party rating lower than solo? Every rating I've seen/heard about has the party rating at least 100 points higher.

There will be stomps regardless of how good the matchmaking system is made. There are so many variables in a game of DotA, once the game starts (picks/bans) all of that pre-game balancing goes out the window.
Personally in my 20+ ranked matches (just hit 4k), I've had a pretty good all around experience regardless of the game outcome which has been the best part of it. Even in some crushing losses, the flaming has been pretty minimal.
I assumed they would limit things like stacking, or segregate solo queuers from stacks and have the games be something like all draft. Since they just did a carbon copy of normal games just with visible rating of course its just going to be exactly that.

Mine was lower by like 30 points until I just went and lost 3 solos in a row

does matchmaking dont give a shit about how good/bad you perform each game?
there are games i play like my life depended on it, but still lose because of shit teammates (intentional feeding, throwing, etc) and i still lose the same points as when i would just not give a fuck about the game at all
edit: yes i'm mad

It does give some shit. I remember I read in this forum, you may lose points when you win or vice versa. But it should be like you play godly, far far better than you mates and still lose.

But it should be like you play godly, far far better than you mates and still lose. as in, does it only factor if you lose or win? the issue is because there are two kinds of games where my team is just really shit but i played very well, and another being that we were just outplayed, but both games i lose the same amount of points. is this intentional? if so, it really is unfair.
