Sadly, the Flames. Flames management actually has a clue what they're doing.

Only way Edmonton gets there first is if Klefblom and Nurse somehow end up on the team next year and play like Lidstrom and Pronger :p

It's hard to watch, even as a flames fan. Maybe it's payback for the 80's, but it hurts to watch a team that should be so much better than they are fail year after year.

I dunno, I'm enjoying it :D I am starting to feel sorry for Oilers fan, being lied to constantly by their management and having a crappy product year after year with the promise of so much "potential". No fans deserve that.

holy shit, Nyquist is channeling Zetterberg, strapping this bullshit team of cripples and AHLers and carrying it singlehandedly into the playoffs.

Imagine if he had actual NHL players around him.

I guess Leafs are out of the playoffs picture now... sigh.

Yep unless Washington and Columbus fail as much as the Leafs.

i'll repeat my comments of yesterday, Reimer is not right. the leafs lose tonight due to Reimer's bad goaltending. at this point his reaction times are what they were after the Gionta incident..
http://ingoalmag.com/news/miller-reimer-learn-concussions-effect-goalies-differently-and-longer/
often immediately after the injury you only have the headache as a symptom. the slower reaction time and diminished peripheral vision sets in a few days later. and for guys like Reimer and Miller took a long time to get back to perfect despite not ever having a distinct head ache.
this is exactly how repeated concussions can cripple and eventually end a goaltender's career. 2 concussions this year for Reimer, both featuring 2 symptoms "head ache" and "Bell rung", and Reimer flat out refusing to lie to the media... while maple leaf's management flat out lies.
he is a super high quality guy at least he got 1 decent contract from the leafs. he is going to have a hard time catching on as a #1 goalie with anyone now.
its also pretty gutsy of Miller to acknowledge what he did in the posted article.
leafs management can twist perception... reality won't budge. Leafs management continues to insist Reimer has never had a concussion in a Leaf's uniform.... "Show Me ... Don't Tell Me"

We are doing the next best thing though and being very vocal of our hatred of management. Changes need to happen. In 29 other NHL cities Lowe and co are unemployed after a losing stretch this long. Why not here?

leafs have suffered from the exact same issue since 1970 arena sells out no matter what and the very top execs hire ex-Leafs with no qualifications. with Lewieke in charge that will change though.
every canadian team now suffers from the "sell out no matter what syndrome" and its why Canadian teams never win the Cup.

What you people should do is start organizing an insurrection, start ritualistically burning your tickets and jerseys in front of the stadium and then go home instead of sitting through 3 hours of shame. Maybe start some sort of chant/picket around Lowe's house "Hey Hey, Lowe you ape, how many kids did you make sad today?"

Some dude tried that kind of thing by placing a billboard outside lowes office. He got arrested.
One of the problems is the fans of visiting teams fill our arena if we won't.

I'm not sure the defense is entirely responsible for less than 20 shots on net. I mean, subpar breakout passes certainly doesn't help the flow of the offense, but the forwards (Franzen especially) need to be generating more chances.

Sure, the offense sucks too -- its too bad Franzen reverted back to his normal state instead of the high intensity Franzen that got him that monster contract when he was playing with Nyquist right after the break -- but those goals were crap too. You cant have a forward just sitting in the blue on top of your goalie for 2 minutes. You cant give up the puck inside your own zone to a forecheck. There is way too many fucks up on that level just inside their own zone.

Grasping for straws since both those teams have two more games to play.
