Not sure about you, but I have had group conversations both irl and in a virtual group chat that I would appreciate my boss to not know about, and I believe most of us have had it as well.

I can absolutely see why Harvard didn't want it's brand associated with a facebook page declaring itself as being for Harvard admitted people and full of offensive memes. If it was a page, it would be completely understandable. However it is in my opinion not, when it is some people having a private chat through their messaging system. Let's say someone posts an album of pictures on Facebook titled "my academic career at harvard", and it had a ton of questionable behavior and opinions and dirty memes etc. I wonder how that would go. When is it just doing your stuff, which happens to be at Harvard, and when is it actually Harvard's business?

I'd like to see the exact jokes they got banned for, just because I'm a little bit distrustful of how media would choose to relate some of the borderline content that exists out there. More or less my feelings on it. I don't even think these kids had any necessary poor intent - just off color joking. But this is clearly a hard lesson in PR and how people should be conscious of context when they may be representing something other than themselves. From the article, it sounds like this group was a spin off chat from a larger, accepted students group. If it was a spin off chat of people who haven't met each other before, it'd be easy for something like this to reach the wrong ears.

It's baffling to me that Trump was tweeting about the London attacks, in which three attackers managed to kill seven people using a van and knives, to bitch about how gun control doesn't help. I can't decide whether I'm more offended by the tactlessness of it or the stupidity. Gun control fucking worked in this instance. They didn't have guns, the police did, just minutes after they started their attack the police showed up and gunned them down.

At this point they shouldn't even allow him to visit London. He shouldn't want to go either. If he does he will be booed mercilessly.
