Is this thing serious? This guy is really an historian ? Because dumbing such conflict down to arabs don't want to recognize jew to have a state is so sad for history... LOL. There is so many things wrongs, like the UN divided Palestine in half.
Alright, time to get some honesty out of you.
1) Do you acknowledge that the Palestinians will never accept a two-state solution? 2) Do you support a two-state solution?
Why would palestinians never accept a two-state solution, I wonder ? Because they just hate jews ? Palestinians are people, famillies, in difficult economical and humanitarian situations. They want to get out of this situation more than anyone - more than Israelis actually, who are not touched by the war like the palestinians at all. I am for the two state solution, however I know that this two state solution will never happen if the two parties step down in a number of major points - this is what I meant by "sacrifice". Also what I am for is not really relevant.
This is so biased. Seriously even with a neutral view on the situation you can see how the guy is only pointing out one side of the problem and trying to convince you as much as possible.
Most people who have actually been following the events know that Netanyahu wants this crisis to escalate for his election bid. He is horrible at everything but being a war-monger. Not surprised he called for snap elections not even a month ago.
Thank you for this, very interesting. I would like someone from Israel to comment on this because I'd be interested in their view on the reporting (but please read the link first).

Israel doesn't have much casualties compared to Gaza since Israel invests money in defenses too instead of offense. Incase you didn't here about it, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Dome Kipat Barzel- took down more than 220 misses that Gaza launched in the last few days, therefor "only"( way too much) 3 people were killed from their attack. btw, Gaza and palatines in general have been attacking and launching missiles toward Israel for years but now, after Israel took down and important Hamas leader that used to order these launching and terror acts, Gaza took out the big guns and decided to shoot everything. So as a reaction Israel basically fought back. That's a really short and a small picture of what happened.
I agree, every life should be preserved, but if 3 lives are ''way too much'', what do you say about 1400 lives lost. Or the life of one Israeli isn't equal to the life of one Palestinian? It does seem to me that this is predominant opinion in Israel.
Interestingly enough, the Israelis traded over 1,000 Arab Israeli prisoners for Gilad Shalit, a single soldier held in captive. So I guess sometimes that 1,000-1 ratio goes the other way.
That just just strengthens what I said.
Israel is ready to free more than 1000+ captives to free 1 soldier. on the other hand, there was no intention to free any of the Arab prisoners that were in held. To Hamas this soldier to be freed is a bonus.

This is sick, poor kid playing soccer and getting shot at.

It also sends the message "one of our men is worth one thousand of yours". It's not pure kindness.
Not to take any part of which side is right and wrong, but isn't it kinda funny that the guy who talks in the video is Jewish himself?
He is a Judeo-Christian
I could be wrong but jedeochristian is not a religion as far as i know.
On the subject of what started the tit for tat there are a lot of reports of a 12 year old boy being shot to death by an IDF helicopter during an incursion into gaza on november 8th. Of course all the israelis here pretend it all started with the rpg attack. It's also likely israeli media intentionally led them to believe such a thing like usual.

So are you acknowledging that the Palestinians will never accept a two-state solution or not? If you do acknowledge it, then it becomes pretty clear who the bad guys have been for the past 20 years.
EDIT: And if you don't acknowledge it, then your head is in the sand.

I remember reading about it few days before the killing of Jabari, however that news didn't get a lot of attention
Of course not, it's counter productive in portraying the conflict as one sided barbarianism. Watch how just as last time it was brought up every israeli disappears for a few pages and pretends this incident was never mentioned. cognitive dissonance.

No he is Jewish, you must of misread his wiki because it says "He is noted for his conservative political and social views emanating from conservative Judeo-Christian values". Heres a quote from one of his articles "One of the most frequent questions Christians ask me as a Jew is, “Why aren’t Jews committed to protecting the unborn?"". So yes he's Jewish and he is completely uniformed about the reality of the middles east.
I think palestinians have to abandon their land and seek for asylum in one of islamic countries. By launching missiles and suicide bombing they achieve nothing. Israel wants all that land and palestinians cannot fight Israel and no one dare to speak against jews (apart from few "rogue"states), so no help will come from outside of the conflict.

What's your age ? I am interested not to downtalk you, but to know if this comes from young people who didn't who Arafat was, what he did, etc...
Also, "bad" "good" guys, is stupidity as it's finest. To me the bad guys are always the ones who inflict more civilian casualties for no particular reason. Ding ding ding, see ?

My understanding is that the 1,000 prisoners were demanded to be released for Shalit, not Israel's offer of "we'll give 1000 of you for him." Doesn't really seem like it's Israel saying that

I am an anti-Zionist, a one state solution guy (ideally but reality states that two states is the best so far), but when you talk to some of the Hamas supporters, PFLP members, and the daughter of the founder of the JRA, you really begin to question their morality.
