TO DESTINY I have a question for you regarding your most recent racial slur... I asked you the same question during your rants about the n-word and you never answered.
when you said it (g**k), what did it mean to you ?
Why did you use that word in apparent anger?
Was there no other way to express your emotions at the time ?
Was the word used to entertain your viewers or to insult your opponent ? - if yes, why would you think that word would be entertaining to your viewers, or insulting to your opponent ??

You do realise by saying "g**k" and "the n-word" you're saying gook and nigger? It just plants those words in the listeners head. Words are words, emailing sponsers and hurting e-sports as a whole over the use of some words which no-one can honestly think were meant in a racist way is ridiculous. If you don't like what Destiny has to say, stop watching, if he says it to you whilst you're playing him, maybe consider that the strategy you're employing is designed to require so little skill that it baits these types of responses out of players. If you're truly offended, be offended but sharing this with more people, is worse than what destiny said. You, by creating this thread have spread this offensive language as you put it, to a much larger audience and potentially exposed this to more people. If you felt badly email quantic and tell them about it, making a thread with the express intention to hurt a persons livelihood due to racial slurs, which you baited out of him and were not in any way offended by, is childish.
If you honestly don't want to be exposed to this sort of language, turn on the offensive language filter or fuck off and uninstall the game.

I truly thought TL was progressive before this. ::shrug::

Do people here really say/write racist/homophobic things in public environments where lots of strangers can hear/see and think it's okay?
It really isn't that hard to avoid saying this shit and to say things that are funny without causing a shitstorm (especially one that repeats itself every few months and will eventually probably have shitty ramifications for the whole scene).

What did he say that you disagree with?
Also this controversy seems so artificial. People who are emailing the sponsors don't understand the results of their actions. You are not only punishing Destiny but potentially a much wider group of people. You are not correcting injustice you are just another teenage internet activist, the same group of wide eyed halfwits that have filled reddit and 4chan with drama and meaningless crusades.
I think Destiny is just as stupid with his defense of his language (morality itself is just social taboo derived from evolutionary psychology, are you going to start raping people just to prove that any objection to it is arbitrary, and there is nothing 'inherently wrong with it'?), but this 'controversy' reeks of boredom/desperation. There is a game out there, called Starcraft 2. Maybe you should watch it instead of dwelling on this meaningless drama.

That's a really ugly thing to say. How old is Destiny? I would hope a grown man would be a little more clever or intelligent in his insults or at least take a higher road. Throwing out a racial slur like that given the context only serves to insult and provoke anger in his victim.
I will no longer support Destiny or Quantic as long as he's there. I will make that known to people around me as well.

This is a warning to not take an insular view on this type of situation - I've seen posts in places not connected to SC2 who will email sponsors at the drop of a hat and have done in the past. The argument that it's just the internets will not wash with the general public, they'll see what's going on here and kill your credibility before giving you the time of day. You'll be tarred with the same brush which was used on the fighting game community recently.
You should be pointing your fingers at Destiny and other high profile players for constantly giving them reasons to do it. Destiny doesn't say it, people have no reason to send mail. You should also point fingers at the teams choosing these types of players on purpose - I would be far more suprised to see a member of Team Liquid taking part in these sort of antics that I would members of other teams because I know TL use their discretion. This has to be one of the best posts. People complain and want SC2 to gain legitimacy, even cheering on MLG and CBSi partnership, but do you think it will ever last if this is what happens? Agree, what's worse?:
1. People contact razer and they drop quantic/be more careful with their sponsorships in the future
2. SC2 eventually makes TV broadcast and then a player drops a racial slurr while live broadcasting on TV

i think he was just upset the fact that terran 1 base cheesed. Anyone could say anything when they are upset specially over a video game.

Here's a list of words we all should eliminate because some people's feelings might get hurt beyond our original intention of hurting them.
faggot - offensive to the gay community nigger - offensive to the black community gook - offensive to asians(?) spic - offensive to hispanics retarded - offensive to mentally challenged rape - offensive to rape victims snipe - offensive to war veterans nuke - offensive to descendants of hiroshima survivors grammar nazi - offensive to descendants of concentration camp survivors murdered - offensive to people who've experienced death in family cancer on the community - offensive to people who've suffered from cancer
Also, don't do drugs and eat vegetables, ok?
The fact that you are comparing the offensiveness of the word "murdered" to people who've experienced murder in the family, with words like "faggot" and "nigger" is completely absurd. There were not millions of people enslaved and systematically abused on the basis that someone in their family had been murdered. People don't get beaten to death on account of them being a Hiroshima survivor. They do for "being a faggot".

Amazing, amazing post. I don't understand why people always feel the need to ignore bad things that happen. They need to be addressed and responded to accordingly.
Simply ignoring this because "IT'S DESTINY GUYS XDDDDD" is stupid. If Quantic doesn't want to do anything, which is extremely clear considering they picked him up for his abrasive personaility and since they have done nothing in the past to correct his behavior, then going to the sponsors is a must.

They could also think what the rest of society generally thinks about us, "these gamers really are mostly just a bunch of angry, white, male, homophobes and racists, this clearly confirms it! Why are we even sponsoring these social rejects!?"
It is our job to prove them wrong, not hide the evidence and just ignore it for the sake of sponsorship money $$$. But to filter out the small, 4chan esque minority that has come to give us a bad rep.
But instead we just want to ignore it, put a lid on it until a major publication finds out about this and kills esports as you know it with one, just ONE article in any major publication.

This exactly. This is why players like Destiny need to stop.Because of people who complain to sponsors because they think it's funny.
His behavior though funny at times, tolerance to his actions may lead to bad publicity for ESports. This in turn scares away potential sponsors.
Note: I am not saying that Destiny himself is hurting ESports, but rather tolerance for such behavior from any player( even Idra) should not be allowed.

Don't care. Stop making threads every time someone does something that might offend someone else. If he offends you don't watch his stream. If the OP is so offended by destiny's conduct then he can contact Blizzard.

All the people writing to razer are the most hypocritical self-righteous people I've ever seen. I would wager a lot that the majority of these people don't own a single razer product, but they're sending emails saying things like "I've purchased every razer product ever and now will never purchase one ever again". To top it off these people are saying they will tell all their friends to not purchase any razer products. I would also wager not a single one of these people will tell any of their friends to not purchase razer products.
Pretty much everyone complaining is lying and hypocritical, and taking this opportunity to enjoy and abuse power they normally don't have.

This "email teh Sponsorz!" crap is really getting annoying. If you don't like Destiny: 1. don't watch his stream 2. complain to Quantic (whether or not it is effective immediately, they will see it and make note of it) 3. If he actually does/says something terrible during a tournament, complain to whoever is handling PR for that tournament. If no one watches his stream, Quantic is getting complaints, and tournaments don't want him around, he will not be successful. If this doesn't happen, and he remains popular anyway....so be it.
Why jump to an action that could potentially hurt Quantic as a whole, as well as other teams based on the actions of one guy? Orb situation all over again. I disliked what he did as much as the next guy, but simply chose to not watch anything he was involved in instead of bombarding EG's sponsors.

honestly this thread just needs to be closed. This is something destiny, and plenty of the 12-year-old population he represents online have always and will always do. Just deal with it, I don't think this warrants a thread.
And look, don't get me wrong I do not think that cussing people out in any manner is right and abusing the anonomity of the internet to do it is ridiculous but its not like you are witnessing anything out of the ordinary and going on a quest to get destiny for it doesn't make it better, i already do not watch his stream ever because of what he does.
edit: also dont fucking send e-mails to the sponsors. You will burn ALL of e-sports and not just destiny by irritating them. Talk to his godamn managment.
