My email to razor, in an attempt to mitagate any damage done by this poor judment: "Razor is my favored company when it comes to the purchase of gaming equipment. The company's support of the StarCraft player Steven "Destiny" Bonnell has increased my desire to purchase razor products in the future. I appreciate razor's commitment to supporting eSports and its players, and I would simply like to say thank you." Attempting to slander a promineate player in the community for expressing emotion does in no why help this game, scene, or any players related to esports.

I would wager a lot that the majority of these people don't own a single razer product, but they're sending emails saying things like "I've purchased every razer product ever and now will never purchase one ever again". To top it off these people are saying they will tell all their friends to not purchase any razer products. I would also wager not a single one of these people will tell any of their friends to not purchase razer products. Pretty much everyone complaining is lying and hypocritical, and taking this opportunity to enjoy and abuse power they normally don't have. Just like thousands did with orb. Or you don't want equal treatment? Or crucifying one guy is enough, we should let this slip?

Another thing they will do if they can is go to the highest power and complain straight to them. It's the same thing for most business. This thread has been made and quantic will see it. But most people don't trust that quantic will say or do something(they most likely will if this thread gets large enough, which it has IMO) They could even just email quantic but they won't. They will instead go straight to the heart, which is the sponsers. In turn, all this does is make sponsers re-think their position in Esports and whether they really want to stay in it.

Speaking of destructive vocal minorities, have you had a gander at our good ole American politics? ![]() I can't believe people are going nuts about this, when Kespa-Blizzard-OGN-GOM are expected to make one of the largest announcements concerning pro Starcraft in less than 24 hours. Anyways, because this point cannot be emphasized enough: Do not contact sponsors. They do not give a shit about how Destiny acts, they only want ROI for their products. They are not going to pressure Destiny to stop using slurs, they are going to pull out and stop supporting the entire team. This includes guys like Naniwa and Sase, who are two very promising players who could lose funding even though they are faultless.

And the amount of discourse justificatory posts are sickening in this thread. "You can say 'gook' without being racist." Well, good for you. However, people are still offended, and there will likely, or should be, consequences.

You are offensive and ignorant and you don't deserve getting paid to do what you do. That's really all there is to it. I could care less if you stopped responding to my posts. Please do. In fact, please just stop posting in general. The less bullshit that you have to spew the better. Please take your stream offline and just stop streaming too. I mean, I actually saw you just wish harm on someone's child, how does that give you any credibility with regards to your "outrage" at Destiny's behavior?

No you cannot punish him because it would be illegal to do so with a gun. Destiny is knowingly firing verbal bullets and he's intelligent enough to know he's doing so, he just (rightfully) believes he has the right to say what he wants. The people being shot at by these verbal bullets are merely firing back in the same manner. I agreed with your initial post about his right to speech -- it's just that the right of speech flows both ways. His critics are rightfully allowed to say what they want about Destiny to whoever they want also. If it affects him negatively he really only has himself to blame. "the people being shot at by these verbal bullets are merely firing back in the same manner." i think it was ghandi who said, an "eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind." but disregard that. you and i are having rather a nice debate here among all the fields of shit and i for one am enjoying it. Destiny is free to say what he believe, as are all those against him for whatever reason. However if these people actually get razor to force quantic to remove him from their team, or even razor might leave the "e-sports" scene altogether. then Destiny is being punished. and perhaps the whole community get's punished for someone expressing their freedom, and surely that is wrong. That is the only argument i came to offer, and i firmly believe that you and i are both right in what we have said. There's rather a HUGE difference in someone having hurt feelings and 10's of thousands of dollars being taken away from those who work hard to earn it. Including Destiny. In fact, one could argue (as incontrol, amongst others, are arguing) that this "movement" will actually do far more to harm others than help. Surely we can all agree on that.

Well EG got rid of Orb. There will always be rude individuals playing SC2, just like in soccer, basketball, etc. But when a major Starcraft II team actively endorses the content (in this case, Quantic and Destiny), it is extremely problematic. Which is why EG made the right move in getting rid of Orb, and Quantic needs to do the same.
