NaNiwa not invited to Code S - Page 113

While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.

Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned!
- Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM
- Comparing people to Hitler
- Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum.

my problem with this the lack of information about how they came to the decision to take his spot away. while it has a rule about behavior i dont think it gave a specific punishment for it, and in taking such actions i would hope they at least tried to discuss this with nani before giving out the punishment. at least talk to him about what they were doing, why and what his side of the story was, because at it seems now this is a kneejerk reaction from the top on what to do.

This is disgusting! I don't condone what naniwa did, it was childish, but this is taking it WAY, WAY too far! GOM can suck it for all I care. And Korean culture in general might want to remove that 10 foot pole that seems to be lodged up its ass.

Wtf is so ambiguous about not being disrespectful? God, naniwa is the ONLY player I can think of that would do this. Not even idra would pull this shit.

You don't and you can't know that.

How do you even know, that Nestea was really trying in that game?

Of course idra wouldn't pull this, because as a Zerg he can just 6 pool + worker rush and that's counted as just as legitimate as a macro game

Wait a minute... I just found this on twitter from Ethan_Ahn

#GSL #SC2
54 minutes ago

Basically saying:
Naniwa wasn't seeded to Code S to begin with; people think he got the seed from MLG Providence but that is not the case. It was more like if he hadn't done what he did, it was likely that he could of received the Code S seed. All they have done is restricting naniwa from receiving the Code S seed (not revoking the code s seed)

What will happen, I wonder, if Idra has one of his emotional tidal waves while in Korea, and throws a game?

Excellent decision by GOM. Nani had to be punished in some way for his total disrespect, but not too severely so 1 season code S revoked feels right.
Also how can people defend him that not being able to give it all he has was a valid reason to act like that? If he really couldn't play he should havejust forfeited.. Going into the game and acting like that is just disrespectful.

Also the tournament hosts are completely in their right to ban him like that imo. It's standard for tournaments to include rules like "During a match, a player shall not offend the opponent or audience with abusive behaviours". Tournament hosts should always have some leeway in how to deal with certain situations, ie the direction can always choose to ban or unban some player even if there are no specific rules for that, that's standard practice for tournaments really. Without being able to do that there will always be some bad behaviour for which there was no specific rule to ban it.
For example take real madrid in the champions league last year, during a game some of the players got yellow cards on purpose to avoid a banning later on when it mattered. This behaviour was obviously not sportsmanlike but there were no specific rules to punish a team for that. The UEFA did anyway basing it on some sportsmanship rule which was a good thing.

*Ban NesTea since in the Blizzcon finals he so obviously threw his game away and was just trolling around.

Is that also "HONOUR"? Wtf

Never watching GOMTV again.

Did they get complaints from the viewership? No.

Did Naniwa get complaints? Fuck yes.

Is the complain more justified for Naniwa than for the other? No.

It sucks for Naniwa, but it's not surprising that this happened considering the SaviOr incident. They take throwing games very seriously in Korea, whether blatant or subversive.

LOL and people believe kespa is worse.

If KeSPa would run the tournamnet, NaNiWa would have been banned for the tournamnet after he left his game with 'g'.

Naniwa played a game yesterday that is not professional. I have heard that he threw away the game because it doesn't benefit himself. I want to lecture him. Pro-gamer as an occupation is not a job where you just play games between other pro players. Corporations sponsor us because the existence of fans make e-sports a product that we are trying to create. But I believe the behaviour from Naniwa yesterday was such a behaviour that betrayed and looked down on the fans. I hope he thinks about what he did and do not play a game like that again.

-MC

illr memeber that when MC is prancing around the stage like a ballerina.. that could cause offence to some people right? Especially after a victory. Oh wait thats fine though in GSL pantomine circus.

MC doesn't do that during GSL cause he's not a retard, at least I've personally not even seen it once despite not missing many gsl matches

Good thing i didn't buy the GSL season ticket....i will never support competitions that take childish and racist decisions based on personal grudges and to please certain players (like nestea). No fairness..no honor...no respect...just insults.

If i want to watch the best of the best i will wait for MLG...not GSL. I evaded the bigest waste of money i could have possibly made. They won...they wanted a "korean wonderland" and they got it. Good luck with your viewer database.

Tell me, please for my own sanity, that you would have the same response to the entire debacle if a Korean player did the same thing and got banned for it, which I'm sure GSL would do anyway.

People like this are the true racists here. If you have a justified complaint (which some people do) please state it, don't label a company or organizers as some flamebait term such as "racist" because you lack the etiquette to express opinions without being a dick to someone. Anything along these lines is idiotic drama generation based on zero facts and reminds me of calling the weak kid in the playground "gay" because it makes you feel big.

So tell me, anyone who believes this is racially motivated: are you a bully? Do you feel good calling people names? Or do you actually have facts and what you're stating is a truth I'm missing? Because all I see is flamebait and a pot calling the kettle black.

Go look at choya, byun, and coca.

All examples of worse offenses that resulted in really no significant action by Gom minus Choya's ban in the gstl.

Wow, that sucks for Naniwa. Must be quite devastating for someone like him. I do understand the decision but it seems like a harsh punishment for an action that can reasonably be interpreted as not against the rules.

I hope Naniwa can behave in a more 'professional' fashion in the future, and hopefully bounce back from this.

This makes me want to buy a season pass just so I can ask for my money back. GOM

I'm fairly confident other players have forfeited matched in other tournaments without consequence.

The only one I recall that was remotely recent was when Idra was extremely fatigued from jet lag and forfeited the rest of his matches for the night and went to sleep.

Of course these circumstances are different but regardless a forfeit is a forfeit.

This is Gom's tournament they can do as they please.

Honestly, I can see if he was doing this with a different attitude and microing, he could have gotten off and it could have been viewed as entertainment. But from the clip, he just looks spiteful.

I realize he was devastated emotionally which is why it seemed offensive.
