Probes regenerate shields faster than drones regenerate health.

Advancing in tournaments is not the only thing that pro players are paid to do. This game was a big opportunity: - for NaNi, Quantic, and the foreign scene to show their stuff, generally
- for NaNi to gain even more notoriety through his rivalry with NesTea (imagine what a nice win + ceremony would have done)
- for Quantic to get its sponsors in front of thousands of viewers over 25 minutes of gameplay
- for NaNi and Quantic to win over new fans, who will increase the worth of player and team
- for NaNi and Quantic to impress GOM, who might then invite/welcome NaNi/foreigners/Quantic players to many more huge events in Korea
- for NaNi to gain stage experience against a top top pro
- for NaNi to better understand NesTea, in case they meet again
I'm sure there's more I'm missing. The point is that it's silly to think that there was nothing on the line here solely because prize money/tournament placing was not in question.
- Naniwa was already tilting, he wouldn't have played his best and it wouldn't have been a good reflection of his skill
- This makes the rivalry with Nestea even greater, it accomplished the same thing
- Quantic doesn't get its sponsors in front of thousands of viewers over 25 minutes. They give their sponsors airtime through jerseys and the name Quantic Gaming(both of which were used the same amount of times as a regular game). He actually doesn't even have a jersey yet.
- Naniwa going 0-3/0-4/1-3 isn't going to make a big difference in fans gained/lost.
- Why would Naniwa playing Nestea impress GOM?
- Nani has already beat Nestea and has plenty of stage experience. I don't think thats a problem.
- This game would also give Nestea a better understanding of Naniwa, so it works against him as well.

I hope GOM punishes this behavior. Nani doesn't understand his obligations towards the people / companies that make his "dream" possible. Last couple weeks he took multiple arrows in his already damaged knee, he completely ruins his career.

Johan got what he wanted. All you guys are talking about him as we speak when it's really no different than what a lot of players have all done before. The only reason it gets more attention is because a) its nani b) it was televised.

And now they feel cheated because naniwa basically gave them a middle finger. Naniwa doesn't play to make you happy which he has made clear several times before. Blame the tournament for having a setup that can create these situations, you wouldn't get a good performance out of any sportsman after what naniwa went though. He was probably extremely disappointed and angry after those losses and they want him to play a showmatch? PLEASE. A showmatch? He was gifted a spot into a prestigious tournament because gomtv is nice and basically told them to fuck off. If people aren't gonna tAke the tournament seriously then shouldn't accept the invitation. He wasn't gifted shit. He earned his second place at MLG and because of that he got an invite. If it was providence first place only and they invited nani after then sure.

As much as I feel for his predicament, Naniwa could have shown us that despite this crushing odds, he still can put up a fight. He hurts his image by continually doing these sorts of things. This is why I support a player such as Boxer, a person who doesn't give up, even with terrible odds, and brings joy to his fans.

GLHF playing for yourself, he would be nothing today without sponsors/teams/fans.

Naniwa gained a lot of respect from me, he stood up to the system and that takes a lot of courage, why does GOM make players play when they have already lost.. Its a real kick to their dignity by making them play a game, especially since Naniwa was 0-4.
Also how is what he did any different from MMA 2 rax all inning Leenock on their first match.. if Naniwa robbed the fans of a match, then MMA did the same. People please stop with the double standards, and leave players be..

It's funny that Naniwa gave everything in the previous 3 games and try to make an argument that he did not entertain them.

I'm not sure about the rules of this tournament but in mainstream sports, there has been cases when teams/players didn't play seriously and have been fined for that. It's for bad conduct and unprofessionalism. This shit --> bad for spectator --> bad for the tournament's rep --> bad sponsors --> hurting ESPORTS

Probes don't generate shields at all when they're attacked. Why are you talking when you have no clue?
Naniwa is a great player, but he deserves no respect because of his acts.

Bummed me out, wish it hadn't happened and I'm fine with whatever comes from it. KeSPA would have banned him that's for sure, however GOM has always been more lenient. Don't think I'll be rooting for Naniwa anytime soon though.

I completely agree with this, more suspension of dis-belief is better somehow?

He wasn't invited... he qualified via the qualification process GOM laid out for this tournament months ago.

what a disgrace. reminded me of the drewbie vs euro showmatch. but that was only a showmatch so who cares.

Meh, he should've gone all out and just a-moved then naniwalked out of the studio.
