THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR [GSL] BLIZZARD CUP GROUP B. DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE GAMES OR IF YOU CARE.

So basically what happened was that NesTea and Naniwa were both down 0-3 in the group, and Naniwa was -probably- on a bit of a tilt after losing those games. So when the match started he boxed his probes and amoved across the map.

My personal opinion is that it is purposely throwing a match. Every progamer knows that the opponent will have more workers once you get there, and you consequently have no chance of winning, therefore throwing the match.

Now for the tournament results it doesn't matter, but for his team, his fans, his reputation, the paying viewers and the GSL in general it actually does. Throwing matches on purpose is not something that should be treated lightly. No one is in charge of naniwa, but it is natural that his fans are upset, his team are upset with the bad PR and that GSL are upset because of him refusing to play after being invited due to previous victories to such a prestigous tournament that they dump a lot of money into.

What are your thoughts on the issue?

EDIT:

@QuanticNaNi johan lucchesi
apparently people got upset when i probe rushed nestea, the game was pointless and it couldnt change anything in the tournament.

@QuanticNaNi johan lucchesi
i can understand if fans got upset but neither of us had anything on stake and wouldnt play our best. i am sry if people expected more tho

EDIT 2:
Korean Reactions
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=294348

EDIT 3:
More twitters

@oGsMC: I was really lost for words after watching today's game. Does he even know what the word "pro" is? My role model for professionalism is White-Ra. He really loves his fans, and doesn't give up his games until the end, and he's very mannered towards everyone. Does anyone dislike White-Ra?

I hope Naniwa can look at White-Ra and change his mentality. I don't think it's right to do that, not considering your opponent at all. I wish he'd think about how he would have felt if I had gone 3-0 and confirmed #1 in my group, and he was 0-3, and I thought that since I'm 1st place nothing matters and just GG'd out of my game against him.

Well, if you there's no big deal because there's no money on the the line, then I can't say anything to that, you're just not a pro. After seeing Naniwa, I thought HerO was all the more awesome for being so upset about losing his games yesterday.

@FXOChoya: [Can't believe] that kind of bastard is a pro-gamer.

That this should get closed, because nothing good will come from this. You're only adding another place for people to insult each other.

Except Coca had a game won and left in agreement with his ex-teammate/opponent. The game also was integral in deciding who moved on and got a Code A spot.

Jesus Christ. It's another one of these threads . . .
When will they stop?
But i would just like to say that I feel sorry for people who might have stayed up all night to watch what they thought was going to be an epic grudge match, only to be very disappointed.

The difference is that throwing this match was meaningless in comparison the the coca match.

PS there is nothing obligatory about this thread... Don't act like drama is obligatory.

It is disrespectful to viewers, GomTV, Nestea, QuanticGaming, and anyone else involved. They put time and money into him and he repaid it like that.

Quantic even hyped it on their twitter 5 minutes before the match.

Naniwa is just sad.

A useless match that means nothing except pride is the same as a game that decide who gets a Code A spot?

I think that people are making a bigger deal out of it than it should be. The game didn't matter whatsoever as far as the tournament goes. Both players were out, but because of the wanky format, they had to play a game. I think if any of the fans take offense to Naniwa, then they should grow a callous and stop being so easily offended. If he had thrown a game that mattered, then yeah, that would be a big deal, but it didn't.

Also, Naniwa wasn't invited to the tournament, he earned a spot.

Lol not at all. The winner didn't get a code A spot, stop mispreading informations.
The winner get a chance to play in a tournament (16 or 64 can't remember) where he can get a code A spot. CoCa needed practice so he left the game instead of winning

Here's how I feel about the whole thing.

Naniwa was being a sore loser. Don't get me wrong, I understand the reasons why Naniwa did what he did. After losing three straight games he must be drained mentally as well as physically. He's already out of the tournament, so why bother taking what's basically an impromptu showmatch seriously? Naniwa sending out all his probes was his way of saying 'I really don't care'.

On the flip side of that, I really don't care if you're having a bad day, Naniwa. I was really looking forwards to the Nestea vs Naniwa grudge match after Naniwa had some choice words for him at MLG. But rather than engage in a rival competition, he'd rather throw the game.

In the long run of things, I don't really care which way the match would've gone. Naniwa sending out his probes was well worth the laugh. But in terms of handling things like a professional gamer, that was the most immature, jerk move he could have pulled.
