MC even though he was qualified already he didn't throw his game away VS DRG (though he could have gotten 2nd in the group).
I think his Code S spot should be revoked
Well, MC winning meant DRG was out, and even DRG said he wondered if MC would just play weird to let him in, he didn't. However MC hadn't lost 3 games in a row to cheese.
No his Code S spot shouldn't be revoked, but he should get a stern warning, and perhaps a fine from QxG.

So like month after, people are still mistaken.
There was ZERO code A spot involved in that tournament.
Coca was doing it for practice for Code S cuz his Terran teammates were busy, so he threw away the game to play another.
Kinda like how Naniwa threw away his game simply cuz he doesn't care...
So fact of the matter is, both games were a official tournament game (as oppose to some show match) Both players didn't really care about the outcome of the match Both threw away the game, winning or not.
All in all, both were simply lack of professionalism and sportsmanship, so if Coca pretty much got his whole career ruined because of it, I don't see why Naniwa should get to just walk away free like nothing happened.

Who cares, they were both out of the tournament.
Not important.

Personally, i think Naniwa fucked up. This was a main stage match. People was looking forward to this game. Naniwa got a chance to play versus the best Zerg on the planet, an opportunity he may never get again. This is not how professionals act. I don't think GSL will ever invite him again if they will have another option. "Don't want to play your games? We will find someone who want to."
|
it was unprofessional. Even relegated teams in soccer play their games. However, I dont think GOM will punish someone for using a bad strategy(worker rush)

There should be some kind of community poll to remove Naniwa out of GSL or revoke his code S seed. Naniwa might've approached the match thinking it didn't matter. GSL production crew obviously knew as much but proceeded with the match regardless. So, question is, under what circumstances are players allowed to throw matches like that? On live stream/television, I think the answer is never. Even if its just a fun show match like the prematches in some GSL finals where MKP off raced with protoss, MKP at least tried to entertain the viewer, because it's his job.

I think his Code S spot should be revoked It would most definitely be revoked.
Korea prides itself highly on integrity. Any insult to it will be dealt with severely.
What I am afraid of is the repercussions on the entire foreigner scene in Korea.
Let's just hope that GOM does not stereotype Naniwa's behaviour against the rest of the foreigners.
If I remember correctly, there was already some unhappiness with the behaviour of some of the foreigners.

Agreed, he did actually try to do something, I mean couldn't he of just not built anything then GG'd?

There were so many great matches in this group already that i didnt really care.. Nestea and Nani were both out before so it didn't matter at all. Chill out =) He even gg'd and didnt do any thumbs down stuff so whatever..

I think there is nothing wrong with that.
Call it a protest all-in that GOM made this game pointless to play.
If 4th place at least got a small cash prize, at least there would be a reason to play after being eliminated.

Naniwa is looking like he's never going to change his attitude. I hope quantic is in store for a shit fest because they knew it was coming and they took him in.
|
I think Naniwa is just frustrated about the previous games he played. It's understandable why he threw the game, he simply can't be stuffed.

I'm sure you know better than the rest of us including Naniwa?

While I'm a lil' irked at naniwa cos I was looking forward to the match, but his face at the start of this gif says it all. He just doesn't give a shit. And when you have someone in a tourney not giving a shit they shouldn't be playing. IE: Round robin is a very awkward tourney format and leads to some stupid situations.

yeh.. relegated soccer teams 'play' their matches cuz they have to be there for 90 minutes but they couldn't care less about winning/losing. In SCII you can just quickly lose and get it over with. It's not like he didn't play the game, he just didn't care about winning.

Agreed, I mean with the older Code S format, if your game had no meaning you didn't play it...why not now?

Wonder whether we'll see him switch teams (involuntarily) before newyears'

He should've done a 2-gate proxy - a weak strat but at least provide a show for the viewers
