I listen to mostly mainstream rap. I realize that it isn't underground or unknown and I know that most of these artists sing about bitches/money/cars/etc. I really don't care though. It sounds good to me, so I listen to it.

When's the last time you saw somebody dancing to non-commerical rap at a party or club? It's the same as Electronica. There's a lot of good electronic music out there that is unknown, but you won't ever hear it unless you go to a rave or see a DJ when they come to town. Similar to Rap, when you're at a club or a party, you'll hear only the popular, mainstream songs. Learn to deal with it.

People that hate commercial mainstream rap just because it is mainstream, just to be cool and different, need to get a life.

I personally don't like mainstream "rappers" cos they say their rap is cool and kicks asses while actually it sucks balls. Their music is basically pop, so it should be called pop.

Mainstream rap is horrible. The very second a scantily clad black chick with 34-24-500 dimensions comes on the screen, I turn it. Name one thing rappers like Jay-Z, Nelly, etc talk about other than woman and money or how great they are.

Im not that much of a fan of new-school political rap like Dead Prez, etc either. Black people just arent mistreated like they used to be. The only people to blame for the stereotypes of black people are black people themselves... If you dont want me to think black people are thugs and crooks, then how about you dont become a thug or a crook? They are too busy being pissed off at the Govt, when they should probably be pissed off at themselves.

The new emo-rock trend is pretty good.
I also like to catch the occasional glimpse of Dirrty

I dont really watch that much Much Music, or tv for that matter, I have the movie network and that is basically on 24/7 with the exception of a few tv shows I watch (NBC Thursday, Twin Peaks on Scream, West Wing, American Idol, and Joe Millionaire, Seinfeld when its on too).
