Of course there are advertisements all over S. Korea; (if you haven't seen them then just goggle SC2 ads) but if the actual game play and tournament(s) are not in a proper spot (i.e. a mall) and with comfortable arrangements (the GSL participants/audience members are freezing constantly in the current stadium setups) then there will be no audience wanting to attend.

And people trashing on skill level of Moon need to consider the fact that BitByBit actually beat our very own HayPro 2-0 in GSL 3. Make of that what you will.

That's in the gomtv studio, boxer's match was not in the stadium. Gomtv Studio probably can only fit a dozen more than 60 plus staff and camera equipment, I trust Artosis and Tasteless however when they say they are getting more and more hits on TV and the stream everyday. And as some people have said, how can you expect it to take down BW in the first 6 months when the game hasn't even been balanced 100%? Sc2 will dominate bw as soon as people like Flash, Jaedong, Stork, and Bisu retire. If just one of them retires it will hurt BW in korea. Then I imagine full support will go to sc2.

I know some of you will say that we should just wait, eventually new maps will come out and all will be good. But the crowd won't wait, it'll be way harder to get all the people back once they've gotten tired of the game than to actually keep them interested while they are still watching, this is why i want something to happen as soon as possible. So yeah, since blizzard obviously won't do anything anytime soon the tournament organizers will have to do it themselves, yes i know ladder is great for convenient practice but that's just something we'll have to give up to improve the competitive aspect of the game.

Just look at the reddit tourney yesterday when we got lucky and had several games where those maps/spawns popped up, it was awesome and i doubt anyone who watched it disagrees. I agree, though I think part of the reason the reddit tournament was so damn entertaining was because the players are just that much more evenly matched. We have build order wins/losses going on in the GSL, and it's not just one of every ten or so games. The Korean playstyle is just not as entertaining right now, and I think part of the blame can be placed on players that focus so much on all-ins and early game rushes. We'll see if the maps alleviate some of those shenanigans and force the players to be more macro-oriented, but so far the level of play has not impressed me this season. No matter how good the players are, I'm not seeing epic games turn out.

Great point, although the all in aspect and bad map pool are the problem now that is good to hear because those "kinks" will be worked out over time and when they are (Sooner the better) The entire world will be wanting a piece of sc2 action as much as possible. You cannot expect the game to be perfect 6 months after release when bw took many years to get where it is today. Give it time gents.

If GSL is going to take off it will take some time for the taboo against it to go away and for big stars to be made

They have commercials on their stream, it's not on TV. And it's not like they can control for how long games will play anyway, most sports that is shown on TV can extend past the expected time and delay upcoming shows, happens all the time in soccer with overtime etc.

I know they say Commercials during the korean broadcast... but I don't recall them saying TV. I'll watch a few more casts later
