At least one or some of these things are sure to happen to change for zerg mechanics, you can bet your bottom dollar.
-The overlord will be separated from larvae production, and more then likely be moved in to hatchery production like the queen. Either that or the queen may yield as much as +2 control instead of costing 2 control. It's pretty obvious that with the sacrifice of drone element combined with overlord production, combined with the detriment of sharing economy with warrior production is quite simply too much.
- The pool will yield anywhere from 4-8 control, perhaps as much as 16 if an expansion chamber is put in. The pool being worth 200 minerals, 50 more then barrack or gateway, may seem like it is a necessary cost because of how (Supposedly powerful and effective) it is to unlock the zergling from 2 hatcheries (At most as one time). The additional 50 minerals that you pay for pool as opposed to the barrack and gate, may be viewed as half the cost for any depot or pylon, and therefore yield half as much food (4)
- Last but not least, universal uniqueness is going to be considered on the most basic structures and units for zerg. Zerg will be truly unique and people will eventually say, "Zerg don't produce warriors perse... They morph them" It is a very real possibility that zerglings may be viewed as a premature developmental stage prerequisite for mutating in to, quite frankly, any other unit in the game.
What this means is that zerg is going to have to be very careful in preserving zerlings for their one time mutation to counter what the opponent is going. It will be that one mutation whether a proper or failed counter that will dictate how zerg gets their economy off the ground.

People are going to be so pissed when any of the past things surely will happen given time. Hopefully I better prepared people for it. I mean, if the pool does end up being worth 4-8 food, I really do think it would be interesting if it could sacrifice that food by having the pool drain its toxins out in to the creep. Just to state, all the prior ideas are my own.
Zerg will no longer be the weakest race simply because ONE of the races have to be weak for uniqueness, entertainment, and challenge purposes.
Hold tight zerg players....
