pvz is so broken its not even funny im like 0-7 vs glade now, lost to mass muta close to all the time. granted he is very good and a better player then me but when you know its coming, and you make the "hardcounter" of 2 stargates and still lose its hilarious. also saw his match history and looks like smuft loses 70% vs him
funny how phoenixs lost the corsair splash, mutas still have the glaive splash, and protoss have absolutely no chance in an air to air battle once both unit counts go above 12.
Not to mention at anypoint he feels he might lose an air battle(almost impossible) he can switch to mass hydras and u have 20 pheonixs which do jackshit

I had same problem. Found the solution on bnet forums. You need to click create custom game button and be sure you have every map downloaded. To check for this go through highlightign each one and be sure you have a green check in the corner of the map. If you have a little yellow arrow click it to dl the map.
Hey all. I've just gotten through playing 40 games straight (minor breaks for bio and snacks) and thought I'd share the replays. I'm bouncing between #2 and #5 in gold league with ~1650 rating, and I'm playing against mostly platinum players. I play zerg every game. I have played about 450 games so far during the beta.
My strongest matchup is ZvP and my weakest is ZvZ.
Hoping this could be entertaining for everybody, maybe helpful to lower ranked zerg players or just to give any zerg player some new ideas they may not have though of.

Those were some awesome PvP matches. Other than the broken previous patch ring around the pylon cheese/warpgates with idra, the rest of the PvP matches were very fun to watch. Loved those sneaky void rays, lol.
The replay against CowGoMoo was very good too. Lots of back and forth.
I watched both of your PvZ versus Glade and I think Collosus and Phoenix are the wrong choices. Every time you get a Colli he can throw in Mutas and make them useless. Every time you get Phoenix he can beat it with either mass Muta or mass Hydra, so again useless.
You need to force a ground battle at his expansions, not yours. Mass ground with zealot meat shield, and at least 6-10+ sentries with lots of templar for storm would do much better. At least 6 sentries will easily take care of muta harass. If he tries mass muta storm will counter that and sentries with guardian shield will clean up, not to mention he will be severely behind you in ground power and you can roll his expansions. If he tries mass ground, sentries can force field BEHIND his units so they can't run away and then rape his army with storm.
If you make Colli just make a few, don't mass again him. Like 1-2 max, rest just mass ground army with storm.
Phoenix is the wrong counter against muta. Forcing a ground game is the correct counter against muta. Going air = suicide if you're protoss against Zerg unless you're doing some all in void ray rush or something.

what's the best way to counter mutas? sentry/archons/pheonix? the problem is zerg can switch it up to hydras very easily
I agree that the current state of pvz is terrible, but in that first replay your macro wasn't there at all and you never upgraded your pheonix either so it's not entirely Blizzard's fault if you lost there.

The problem with this is that while it all sounds good on paper, it's very hardly applicable. Mutas are much faster than sentries. If you are playing a good zerg, he will put a LOT of pressure on you with those mutas, which means that you have to run your sentries all over the place to protect your buildings and your mineral lines. You can't have storm AND sentries early on unless you didn't go robo which we are forced to. So what happens is that after the roach rush (or even worse yet, if they did a fake roach build and immediately switched to muta after killing your probe) we are behind and we need to make sentries and a ton of cannons. If we're making sentries we can't make much ground units at the same time, so we're vulnerable to ling/mutas. Not only that but he will harass your buildings so you can't leave your base. Since we are stuck in our base running around with sentries, we can't stop him from expanding and getting enough gas to make mass mutas and eventually brood lords which owns just about any amount of sentry you can get off 4 assimilators. You obviously cannot get any more than 4 assimilators in that situation vs a good zerg. There's no way you will be able to expand again unless you were to somehow have gotten lucky enough to pull out an hidden expo that has 25 cannons.
The only way we stand a chance is if we can somehow manage to get a second expand. With two more assimilators we can get something going with a decent amount of templars. Otherwise on 4 assimilators all our gas is going into sentries just to be able to survive from the mutas numbers growing and growing and harassing. With overlords shitting creep all over the map it's pretty much unmanageable though and any good zerg will unable you to.
We play double random, and the first game we played vs. this team was on Metalopolis as T/Z. We were going for the abuse speedling collison + marines, but they went a faster version (7rax, 7pool) and won. Next game we managed to play them again on Kulas and the same match up. Turns into a double proxy barracks game and double 7pools. Probably one of the more silly games we've played.
