ToSsGirL vs Anytime should be interesting as well, though I really dont see her walking away with a win. Cant wait to see who it is goign to be that advances.
No one cares about the second match. It's all about Boxer bunker rushing Yellow again and Nada destroying Savior cause that's the norm for everyone who plays him these days.
I'll take Boxer/Nada and Anytime cause TossGirl sucks.
I kinda hope Tossgirl beats Anytime, because that would be hilarious. It would also mean that we might see her in the lineup against ACE in Proleague in the future, which would also be funny.
Group A Boxer is qualified for the playoffs no matter what. Reach is out of the tournament. Yellow, Tossgirl and Anytime can still make it to the playoffs with Yellow being ahead.
Group B Nada and Savior are in the playoffs. Their game decides the rankings in the group though. Nal_ra and Kingdom are out.
Semi-Finals will be Group A Rank 1 vs. Group B Rank 2 and vice versa.
Tonight is a very big night. Tossgirl vs Anytime is unimportant (sorry Tossgirl, but your important matches were just Yellow and Reach), but Boxer-Yellow and NaDa-Savior are two of the biggest and best rivalries in all of e-sports.
Well since Boxer doesn't have to win to be in the playoffs, there's a good chance that we'll see a bunker rush or some other type of old school boxer play
The play time is early tonight I can so definitely catch this live and not worry about losing sleep for work the next day. 2 EPIC RIVALRIESS YEEEEEHEHHHH
Wow, wow, wow, Emperor himself vs YellOw, that's going to be fucking epic and it's gonna be PIMP if BoxeR bunker rushes KONG, wow. BTW, it will be NaDa who will own horribly sAviOr.
No. Rok means writings, document (esp. used for historic events). Originally ImJinRok is an ancient novel about this. that name coincidentally has the same korean spellings (but different chinese characters) as Lim Yohwan & Hong Jinho.
Boxer > Yellow - Bunker Rush FTW MaBonJwa > LeeBonJwa - Maestro will crush the otter Anytime > Tossgirl - As long as Tossgirl doesn't sleep with anytime
I'm not too impressed by the "lol bunker rush" comments. This match happens to mean a lot for the Heritage League (it determines whether YellOw secures a spot in the Ro4).
But to be frank I wouldn't be suprised if Boxer bunker rush him again. He basically asked for that saying in one of the interviews that he doesn't expect Boxer to bunker rush him. Is there any better invitation for that
Boxer has just looked so damn impressive in his TvPs thus far...let's hope that he's been keeping on top of his favorite matchup as well. Lim Yohwan fighting!
Edit: OMG, finally a 14:00 airtime...that means I can actually watch live.

Hope for an exciting and entertaining Boxer vs Yellow match, even though Boxer is already through. Also hope that Tossgirl wins again. It's fun when the underdog wins.

ya because a 20min delay, awful quality stream, and some random korean dance crew who were prepared to do their thing on stage on time is totally tolerable.

No, OGN's VLC stream does. Most people outside of Asia can't get it to run properly (myself included).
I'd really love to watch Artosis and Tasteless cast this but...damn is ESL's streaming method janky. There is no way I am going to install Octoshape again (it basically took a dump on my HD when I did the first time) so maybe I will have to settle for a livestream. Is there no way to watch the ESL stream without Octoshape? (I haven't found any, after a few minutes' searching.)

iirc it uses upload bandwith, and it make sit so that the video stream basically acts like a bittorrent network. Cool, but I don't trust the software.

Preface: I have a Mac.
Octoshape installed an application in my ~/ (user) folder — instead of where it should be, in my /Applications folder. It also popped up as a menu bar item, which is much too invasive for a simple browser plugin. Oh, and it did me the favor of adding itself to my startup items so that it could clog up my menu bar and eat my RAM without me having to open my browser or try to watch some Octoshape-delivered video. Altogether the thing took me more than a few minutes to remove from my computer...not something I'm interested in doing again.
Edit: the good news is that OGN's VLC stream is working flawlessly! What a treat! Go BoxeR!
vulture first for boxer, researching either speed or mines probably from the machine shop. Boxer palaying blind, throws up a ebay after his first vulture.
spider mines planted around the map for boxer, yellow's tech is somewhat slow from his macro build. Since boxer scouted the third base, there was no need for turrets from the ebay.
Sheer focus is on both player's faces as they switch to a splitscreen view
yellow gets in a zergling, scouts 2 additional raxes going up, for a total of 3 raxes for boxer.
yellow saves his third for now, lost two sunkens and was forced to pull drones. Boxer appears to hate medics, and has about 20 +1 marines around with 0 medics. Yelllow is doing a good job forcing stim stim and not allowing the marines to gain even more ground.
On July 24 2009 15:20 konadora wrote: Even though Boxer didn't destroy the expo, he benefited because he forced Kong to withdraw his mutas.
allowed him to build up his mnm force, but on the other hand, yellow's econ ( if he macro's properly) should allow him to run away from with the game...
looks like not though, and boxer takes down the 6 oclock hatch with about 24 marines and 6 medics.

wow nice, he scans lurkers just in time to kill them, and his sausagefest attack takes out the gas expo
Yellow is counter attacking, but all of his forces get destroyed. Yellow managed to get a sneak expansion at the top right, but Boxer is still pretty far ahead.
yellow barely pulls off the defens on the top right, as boxer waited for about 5 seconds too long to decide to attack (and/or his scivessel just took that long to move around the map )
muta ling isn't enough to save the hat at the top right, but swarm comes in barely in time, and allows yellow to save that hatch. Clutch clutch timing.
boxer's splitting up his forces, and is trying to attempt to force yellow to multitask better. It's working so far, but who knows if that will continue to be tre.
Boxer takes out bottom right, but there were 0 drones there, and yellow still has his base at 6
boxer is at 2-1 upgrades, not quite sure what zerg is at
yellow retakes his third without losing any drones, but now we need to see if he's going to be able to do it again, as boxer breaks through the ramp with about 2 control groups of units.
More units come out of the nydus, and yellow has lurkers burrowed at 12
Oh wow, critical mistake from Yellow...he delays burrowing his lurkers at his ramp for just a moment, and Boxer marches in with a group of MnM. Looks like Yellow will lose this base now!
yellow is trying to expand faster than boxer, this is a pretty interesting game. Boxer's buildilng a pretty good force in the middle of the map, and yellow is attempting to get his fourth gas.
lurker/ling/defiler attempting to use the fact that boxer's forces are mostly in the top right, but yellow i don't think is going to be able to punish him for it.

Ghost is running through (cloaked), and is going to attempt to nuke 6
nuclear launch detected.
hatchery is killed, and yellow just smiles, and gg's
they walk out to the center stage, give smiles, handshakes, and a salute from yellow. Boxer is once again the pround winner, and yellow is once again left with a cold feeling in his heart.
jk maybe i'll watch this it looks like anytime is ready to destroy tossgirl from this earth. Then again, I think that's what reach may have looked like before his match.

Why? He defeated Anytime and Tossgirl, and head to head score is usually used as a tiebreaker. I mean that's why Yarnc is A1 and Jaedong is A2 -_-

What?
Head to head, meaning YellOw beat both Tossgirl and Anytime in this tournament, giving him greater claim even if they have identical records.

One could argue that Tossgirl's 2nd and 3rd games show dramatically increased skill over her 1st game.
Except that no sanctioned sporting event uses subjective parameters like 'increased skill'. Concrete facts such as 'game statistics' are much more important. You can be the best in the world on paper (Flash, Bisu) and still drop out in OSL group stages.
The world shows no pity to those who produce no results.
Interesting watching Tossgirl, she has ridiculous APM but seems lost a lot with decision making. If she had a set build order and was allowed to execute it she would be fairly dangerous.
Always disappointing when a hyped game like that ends because of a simple mistake in the beginning.
Though I must admit I didnt expect anything other than what we just saw. She simply isnt at the level of the other old school pro-gamers. No crazy upsets tonight so far, looking forward to game 3

savior scouts this with zerglings, and the real question is if nada's going to be able to get this attack in before the mutalisks pop. This is going to be really really close.
looks like savior canceled that hatchery, plants it at 12 to try to get a third gas. Savior has his muta in a position to defend, but since there's only one fbat attacking it...
6 sunks going up for savior to defend against nada's push.
7 sunks now down for savior, and nada has +1 weapons. That's a lot of muta for savior, and nada's going to try to counterattack into the top of saviors base
+1 wep for the uptalisks, and now it's up to saviors micro to try to destroy the attacking mnm force.
savior's basically stopped mining at that main, and has killed off a ton of scv's. Nada's given up on his main for now, and has decided to counterattack.

i don't think so, becuase it would have been used by now... nada forces the mutas back, but it might be too late, as savior triple expands to the nat at 12, main at the top left, and to the 6 oclock third.
nada's not able to expand again, as he still has lurkers in his base. attempts to take out the lurkers, but he dosen't have enough dps/spread. muta are coming back to finish off nada.

Savior lost his ZvZs mainly because of bad decision making and (to another extent, poor muta micro). But his ZvZ is still better than YellOw's.

In the end you need a balance though which is why I think they complement eachother very well.
Suddenly makes me think of OGN and MBC caster combos where the middle dudes are more for hyping purposes and the guys on the sides are for explanation.

Its how most caster setups are, in sports these usually the hype guy doing play by play and a retired player/coach bringing his knowledge of the game.
Boxer is THE SKT terran, if Canata/Midas/Fantasy can pull those builds off that the entire team theorycrafts on its own, he sure can do it himself, he is going to give Savior a run for his money, not too sure on him beating Nada though.

Who cares, he's highly entertaining and much more fun to watch than just about any caster I could ever come up with.
The vast majority of people out there dont care if he knows the ins and outs of every single aspect of the game. The whole point of e-sports is entertainment, only a few elite nit picky pros care if they get everything absolutely right.
I've learned over the last couple months that people care more about the basics and understanding whats going on rather than having an extreme knowledge of everything in the game.

All sports casts are like that anyway. You generally have you main caster who does the play by play, and adds humor. Then you have a former player who provides expert analysis

I don't deny that he's very entertaining, and he's really one of the very few people who can hype up games well. It's just that he is sometimes misinformed of things that are quite obvious to people who have followed SC for some time, and it just leaves a bad impression.
