HOLY SHIT HYPE HYPE HYPE Boxer vs a slumping ForGG... Boxer might actually eke out a win. O.O;; Even in ACE, his TvT was strongest.. you never know O.O;;
Man, kona waited 'till the last second to start this thread. I'm surprised no one stole it before this! I bet several minutes went by between the announcement of the matchups and the creation of this thread :p

Considering it takes several minutes to make a LR thread as well.

I wish boxer was playing vs zerg, I really don't like TvT even though we'll still probably see a cool strategy from boxer. Hopefully he won't try to prove that he can play straight up but end up failing, I think that would break the hearts of just about everyone. I'm just praying (or the apatheist's equivalent) for a convincing win... to see the magic is still there.

Well, his OSL game is irrelevant (to him, anyway).
Yeah, Flash should throw the OSL game just to see a tiebreak so Effort can have the chance to advance. Hs should focus on MSL and PL even if KT isn't making the playoffs. (MOST WINS YO)
(T)Flash < (Z)Thezerg THE EMPEROR (T)fOrGG < (T)THE EMPEROR (Z)815 < (T)Mong THE EMPEROR (P)Violet < (P)Bisu THE EMPEROR progaming in general < Bisu THE EMPEROR
I hope he prepares well for this. I'll also probably be streaming this if I can find a HQ stream, but that's in the future, AND since it's BoXer, I bet all the HQ streams will be filled up. We shall see...
OMGGGG I just woke up and tune in just to see that it has finally happened!!! Yesssssssssssss BOXERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My fellow fanboys, we shall see once again another uprising and an opening to a new era where we will have the entire of our king and emperor, SlayerS_Boxer!!!!! Go Boxer!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly, I am really worried for Flash. He needs to win this game. Otherwise there is no chance he will stop slumping. Jesus Flash, just win a game please, k?
This thread is like 3 days old.....just like the other T1 thread...
hmm..looks like T1 is trying to use test some new guys, I hope that TheZerg manages to win against Flash so we have a sure fire way of getting bisu to push it to ace match.

True. But I am still looking forward to this game. There are few things that make me more happy than seeing KT(F) defeating SKT
I guess this is a good time for my first post. I can't wait to see how Boxer will fare in this upcoming match. Also if it goes to an ace match all the possibilities... oh my.
Since my computer sucks errr dislikes streams I''ll be patiently waiting for the VOD's on Nevake.
Ok, so with the expectation of the stream being lagged as hell... how long do you think it will take for youtube vods to come up? (I have no idea how long after a game they usually go up).

Basically, don't get caught with the same pose as the lady. Mujuk = Beyond Godlike at that game.
Sorry if this has been asked before, but can someone explain what the heck is going on here?
Unless I'm mistaken, SKT can still loose the first spot to OZ. So what the hell: Boxer, Mong and a Zerg vs Flash, Forgg and 815? SKT's line-up seems insane. I'm afraid we won't even get to see Bisu's game...
Not that I'm complaining much. We get to see Boxer and I'm as excited as the next guy. But I don't get the way the SKT coaches took the decision.

I think you're mistaken.
MBC beat OZ so there is no way that they can take first away from SKT1 now.

SKT is guaranteed first place. Look at the standings yourself (click the links under League Standings under TLPD on the right):
Even if SKT loses 0-3, they will have a score 35-20 with +36 points (# wins - # losses) while if Oz wins 3-0 they will also have a score of 35-20 but with only +31 points... not enough to take over SKT.

Im going to get flamed for this but... I really don't understand why everyone wets their panties so much over boxer playing. Sure he's a great player of the past, but it seems like you guys are getting a little too exited over it. Other players such as oov, nalra, nada, reach, or whomever don't get anywhere near this much hype and publicity. And the match most likely will not be such a good one because boxer is way past his prime.
I'd rather watch a Jaedong/Bisu/Flash matchup any day.

also, nada doesn't get as much hype because he still plays regularly. and i think its natural for people to get excited when a legend returns to play. if michael jordan came back to play a game for the bulls, i think people would be shitting their pants left and right, regardless of the fact that he is way past his prime

Flash's SCV sees the two Sunkens going up, and decides to abandon his Marine pressure. Flash gets gas and an Academy/Engineering Bay, while TheZerg decides to expand to the 3 o'clock position.

Spire is up for TheZerg, in addition to a really early Queen's Nest. Is he possibly trying to pull some ZerO shenanigans, or is he going for Guardians? The first group of Mutalisks pop for TheZerg, but Flash is adequately prepared with turrets. Only 3 Mutalisks being made, and Hive is being upgraded.
Flash decides to push out with his group of MnM, and goes in for the Sunken break. TheZerg's Sunkens finish late and he gets broken! Drones are pulled, and they all died. Queen spawns, but a lot of good that's going to do right now. TheZerg's strategy utterly fails as Marines just flood into TheZerg's main. All the Drones die, and TheZerg is left with nothing. The Queen goes down and TheZerg ggs.

Without Boxer, the game of Starcraft, the entire Korean progaming scene, and TLnet as we know it today would not exist. It is because you don't understand this that you don't understand the undying fandom of Boxer.

Both players build their Supply Depots in a way that makes their SCVs come out closer to the minerals. BoxeR sends out an early SCV and the camera turns away from the game. BoxeR builds his Barracks in front of his natural, while fOrGG builds his and his gas in his main.
WHITE GUY IN AUDIENCE! WAVES AND GIVES THUMBS UP TO THE CAMERA.
BoxeR walls in his natural with a Barracks and Factory, with a second Factory hidden behind his natural mineral line! Does fOrGG know what he's getting himself into!? I DON'T THINK SO.
fOrGG gets his Machine Shop on his Factory first, while BoxeR gets his on his hidden Factory. fOrGG has 4 Marines holding his fort, and BoxeR has his first Vulture out. BoxeR hides the second Machine Shop with a Barracks!
fOrGG is looking to expand! This could be over REALLY FAST!
fOrGG is expanding! BoxeR is upgrading from both his Machine Shops (I think!) Is this going to be a quick speed vult allin!? Two tanks are out for fOrGG as BoxeR's 5 Vults shoot their way across the map. They have speed and mine upgrades. They kill all the Marines, and cancel the expansion. The top of fOrGG's ramp is mined, but there are three tanks deflecting any aggression in the main. It will take fOrGG awhile to break out of those mines, though! The CC is screwed. fOrGG adds an Academy and a second Factory in preparation to break the ramp.
BoxeR's first tank is out, and fOrGG can't get his tanks out. fOrGG is starting to make Goliaths. fOrGG scans the mines and starts to break out. BoxeR's first tank is above the ramp and sieges up! Two tanks are out, Sieging fOrGG's machine shop, which is researching siege! Oh man! All the SCVs that are trying to repair are dying! The siege upgrade finishes just in time! BoxeR still has his contain set up, with a good number of mines!
fOrGG's Starport and Dropship are finished, but the Machine Shop looks like it's going to burn down! A very bad mistake by fOrGG! Another scan goes off, but he fails to take down all the mines! fOrGG's shop burns down (complete with countdown by the commentators) and fOrGG makes a disappointed face at the camera. fOrGG has a Dropwship with Vultures in it! fOrGG loses a tank, but 4 Vultures are on their way to BoxeR's undefended nat!
4 Vults are wreaking havoc in BoxeR's main, and he's forced to pull SCVs! BoxeR sends two tanks back to defend, but fOrGG has two Dropships now! BoxeR's tanks in fOrGG's nat are in very good position though! They're starting to push down the ramp! The Control Tower goes down! 2 Goliaths and two tanks are in BoxeR's main, but he has a sieged tank defending! BoxeR has NO SCVS left! fOrGG fails to break the tank line with an SCV drill! BoxeR lifts his main CC and has deflected the attack! A wraith is out for fOrGG but BoxeR does have two Goliaths! BoxeR shells down fOrGG's Refinery, fOrGG has no gas income now! fOrGG almost loses his Wraith to Goliaths! fOrGG loses his Wraith, but BoxeR can't push any farther! fOrGG has enough tanks to defend, but he still has no more gas income! BoxeR has started making more SCVs!
fOrGG has remade his Refinery safely, and is building two more machine shops. BoxeR repositions his tanks, but more Vultures are going in to wreak havoc on BoxEr's 5 remaining SCVs, which all go down! BoxeR gg's!
BoxeR shouldn't have committed so many units to that contain. The damage was done already and he didn't really need that many tanks. If he had kept them back at home it would've been fine. :[
If the speed vults at the very start get behind the tanks and into the main, planted mines at the bottom of the ramp it would have been over :[...Fuckkkk

I wanted boxer to win because he's part of my age group (oldtimers w00t!) and I thought he had a good strategy. He's got slow hands nowadays just like me (100-200apm) compared to these 300+ apm kids. I was hoping he'd scout the dropships
Boxer needs to train more. Sigh, that was brilliant, but then he lost his old self, the old self that would check his base every moment during an attack to make sure he was safe.

Always the same way. Hot girl goes for ugly guy...
815 sends his Overlord not directly to Mong's base, and sends his 9th Drone as well, using the Extractor trick to get a 10th Drone before his second Overlord. Mong goes a normal Supply/Barracks build. 815 tries to steal Mong's gas, but Mong is on top of it and builds a Refinery. 815 decides to go 12 Hatch.
The drone was soooo close about to settle down there and start a family, and Mong just beat it like it was his job.
EDIT #1: Then mong goes SCV dancing in 815's base... EDIT #2: Then shows off crazy vulture micro at the backdoor...

For many of us the earliest videos and replays from Korea were of Boxer. He opened the eyes of many of us to the potential of competitive BW
Mong sending an SCV to the right side of the map, missing 815's Overlord who has corrected its path. He goes up to 815's backdoor and begins to mine it out. 815 looks oblivious to this as of yet. Factory going up for Mong.
Two Marines are chasing 815's scouting Drone around, and it finally dies. The Factory finishes and Mong opts to get a Machine Shop. 1 Fact CC for Mong. The SCV has almost finished mining out the backdoor. A Sunken is guarding 815's bridges. 815's new Overlord fails to see the mineral mine out, but Mong gives it away by sending the SCV into 815's base. 815 has blocked his front with a Hatch/Spire/Sunken block, but Mong's first Vult is out. Mong does some SCV dancing for no reason, and then proceeds to lose his SCV. 815 has lings blocking his back ramp, too. Mong getting Engineering Bay and Armory.
3 speedvults are going towards 815's back door, who has a nice Zergling line to block the vults. MOng is taking potshots at the lings, and is managing to kill them off one by one, although he doesn't seem to be making much progress. 815's Spire is finished, but Mong has Goliaths and will be getting Turrets soon. 815 is out of Zerglings, but Mutalisks are out and chase the Vultures away.

Yep. Boxer transcends his actual play; his charisma and showmanship made Starcraft into something marketable, and really highlighted the fact that SC is a spectator sport, and the fans care a lot about the players and storylines themselves, not just the games.
Boxer is the living embodiment of all that is e-sports... the nostalgic genius plays coupled with his smile + swooning fangirls are why we go crazy over Boxer... not because we actually believe he is a force to be reckoned with anymore.
Turrets are up in Mong's base, who also has a decent number of Goliaths. 815 rushes in with a Mutaling force, taking out the few Goliaths and the turret at Mong's natural. The Goliaths spawn again, but are quickly overrun by Mutalisks. Zoom in on Mong. 815's Mutas are deterred by turrets, but 815 is just streaming lings into Mong's base, who manages to wall half othem off by landing his Barracks again. Mong barely manages to repair his turrets. 815 loses all of his lings and most of his Mutas as a result, but still seems intent on streaming units in. Mong's nat is lifted, but he's stabilized for now.
815 is pumping straight mutas, while Mong is just massing turrets. Goliaths have range upgrade now. Mong can't move out of his base because the Goliaths will get destroyed by Mutalisks. Mong has... mines. A vulture sneaks by. Mong's mines take out a lot of 815's Zerglings, and the Vulture runs into 815's main and gets a Drone kill before dying.

And the match most likely will not be such a good one because boxer is way past his prime.
I'd rather watch a Jaedong/Bisu/Flash matchup any day.
Without Boxer there is no Jaedong/Bisu/Flash.
For many of us the earliest videos and replays from Korea were of Boxer. He opened the eyes of many of us to the potential of competitive BW
And his vult play. Caaan't forget that. Fucking badass.
815 expands to the bridge natural at 10 o'clock. Mong has a sufficient number of Goliaths to be able to take his natural safely again. 815 had to retreat his forces back to his base. Mong has a couple of Vultures laying mines around the map and testing 815's defenses. Starport is up, Control Tower is going up, Science Facility is going up as well. Mong trying to sneak another Vult around the backdoor but is spotted by 815's Overlord.

Terrans in TvZ have this very strange affinity for massive comebacks.
Zergs manage it sometimes, but it seems that one good battle and bam Terran is back in. Zerg are rather vulnerable to this swing until hive tech. Hive tech zerg rapes.
Second armory is going up, +1 Attack is finished. Nothing seems to be researching in the Sci Facility, though. Vultures are still running around, being Vultures.
815 gets his first Evolution Chamber - he's still on Lair tech. Two Vultures go in and kill a Drone at 815's natural, and another Vulture goes in and takes care of two Drones at 815's new expansion. Vultures are just going around, harassing multiple areas at once. First Vessel is out.
Mines are everywhere, 815 is trying to use his Mutas to kill Vultures. 815 has a LOT of Mutalisks. Mong has handfuls of Goliaths everywhere in his base.
815 has started to pump Hydralisks, which Mong sees with his Vulture forces. Mines are doing a good job of keeping 815 from pushing out just yet. Mong is keeping 815's Mutalisks very busy with his Vultures.
Overlord speed finishes, and 815 is starting to make an offensive push on the map. There's about... 2.5 control groups of Mutalisks + maybe 20 or so Hydralisks streaming down the center of the map. 815 has left enough defenses to protect against Vulture harass.
Mong has a couple of tanks, but they're unsieged. Mong expands to his bridge natural, and 815 expands to the expansion leading to his backdoor. 815 gets his Queen's Nest.
In my opinion, his vulture harass wasn't getting much done, 815 after losing 3-4 drones learned to block all entrances and instead of vultures mong really could have used the extra units
Mutalisks run into Mong's 3rd and take out.. turrets before running away from a Vessel. 815 is loading up his Hydras for a drop. That's a lot of full Overlords, and the cloud of Mutas has not lessened in size at all. Drop going straight into Mong's main, who's completely unprepared. Mong loses a Vessel before being able to Irradiate. All of Mong's buildings are going down, and 815 managed to split his Mutalisks properly.
815 rushes some more Hydralisks into Mong's 3rd expansion but a single Sieged tank on the cliff kills all the Hydras.. Mong clears up the drop in his main, but not before losing pretty much everything there. Mong loses his 3rd CC to another group of Hydras that come in. Mong has no more Vessels, but 815's Muta cloud is gone. Defiler mound up for 815.
Mong's Vults are worth their weight in gold as he continues to harass Drones every chance he gets.
815's Hydras and Mutas are making their way to Mong's backdoor entrance. Mong has a single Sieged Tank in his nat mineral line that should take care of Hydras in the backdoor, though. 815 decides to give up the push.
Mong kills a handful more Drones with his Vultures...

Skt1 is guaranteed for the grand finals spot so they are using b-teamers and Boxer because they have nothing to lose
Mong has rebuilt his infrastructure, but he's in no position to make any sort of offensive maneuver on 815 at all. 815 is content with just moving his Hydras around the map and killing all of Mong's Vulture raids.
Mong attempts to expand to his 3rd, but as soon as he lands, the Command Center is sniped by Hydralisks and Mutalisks.
The Command Center Mong used to try to take his 3rd again was actually his main CC, so he has less scans available as a result. Vultures are still trying to do what they can, but they keep on running into 815's rally points full of Hydralisks and melt to it. The Vultures almost snipe a Defiler.
lmfao at 815 dragging this out as long as possible. There is absolutely no reason to wait this long other than to maybe respect for mong to get as much air time as possible.
Mong has a ton of tanks everywhere, and between the bridges and the high ground, 815 can't make a meaningful offensive push anywhere without losing his entire army.

Mong fails to kill a Defiler that was easy prey for those two Vultures. Instead, he sends the Vultures on a suicide mission to a Zerg expansion that kills no Drones. 815 is just adding Drones everywhere.
Mong's tanks thwart a small group of Hydralisks that attempt to take down Mong's mineral-only. 815 gathers all of his units for what I hope will be the game-ending attack...
Mong has successfully taken the mineral only behind his natural. 815 is still moving his army around just doing whatever. 815 also is working off of like 4 or 5 gas right now.
815 is now dropping Mong's mineral only at the bottom. A mine takes out a lot of hydras, but he holds. Mong also takes out all of the drones at 815's 5th expo.
815 deserves an unpimpest play though for the way he couldn't put this game away. He had no excuse.
EDIT: If you're gonna recommend the game, please disclose that it contains a great example of what not to do with a gigantic lead - namely; absolutely nothing.
Of all the Terrans on his team he had to emulate, he had to emulate Canata's turtling. Blah blah, like 100 Ultralisks run straight into Mong's main and take out everything that's there, but they're cleared up by some Gols and tanks. Oh wait, there's more!
I have to admit, 815's fail attacks to keep Mong in the game that long near the end was amusing enough to make not seeing Violet v Bisu rematch almost bearable.
so Bisu is out of the race for most PL wins. If jd wins tomorrow theyd be tied with flash. If he wins his scheduled game and the Ace match (if any) then he get most wins in the PL season. Did I get that right?
Mong will be back guys. No joke. Fucking bonjwa in the making. I can see. Next boxer. People will look back on this day and say both teacher and student lost that day...but it was the day they started their journey to a diamond mouse.

I think so, but if Jaedong only gets one win against ACE then I'd assume Flash would still get it for having less losses? They might just call it a tie I guess.
was hoping for boxer to win, then bisu win vs violet. So that bisu and flash could fight over most wins. Bisu got kinda shafted by his team this time around :S

Yeah, those zerglings, hydras and mutas are too strong vs. marines.
Well T1 didn't put up a serious line up whereas KT did.... So really what was suppose to happen? I mean its nice to see boxer but.... really at best its a toss up for him to win or not.
They really should've put Bisu 3rd and played Fantasy as well. I've got no problem with them playing Boxer for a laugh, but mong? You've gotta be kidding me.

I watched vod once again after seeing it live, still laughed so hard when machine shop burnt. Apparently The Emperor makes other pros not notice their most important add-on being on fire when they are playing off 1 base.Hell, he even started getting mine/speed 5s before it disappeared, lol!

It disappoints me that SK "threw" this series.
I think the matches this day didn't matter because even if SKT1 got 3:0ed it wouldn't affect their standings. That's why they sent out boxer in the first place. So they probably just gave Mong and Boxer some practice time on stage.
they didn't totally throw it away, like give games to all novice inexperienced players. Thezerg is their regular, even if hes there just because lack of other good zergs, Mong is promising player and Boxer is Boxer even if not in top shape. I guess their strategy was borrowed from Pantech-EX(4 years ago) or KTF(year ago) - lets have one player win, then ace (Beesuit) gets 2nd win and then acematch.
Btw, it was fun to see SKT's other lineup than Bisu,Fantasy,Best.
